  • Crossing NIGERIA/CAMEROON BORDER - Avoid This By Every MEANS NECESSARY
Relations between Cameroon and Nigeria were established in 1960, the same year that each country obtained its independence. Since then, their relationship has revolved in large part around their extensive shared border, as well as the legacy of colonial arrangements under which areas of Cameroon were administered as part of British Nigeria. The countries came close to war in the 1990s in the culmination of a long-running dispute over the sovereignty of the Bakassi peninsula. In the 21st century, however, a return to conviviality has been achieved, partly because the demarcation of their border has been formalized, and partly because the Boko Haram insurgency in the Lake Chad basin has necessitated increasingly close cooperation in regional security matters.

I had a very terrible experience crossing from Ikom to Douala. The Cameroon police are so corrupt, every check points which is less than 200m apart, you will have to pay 6000 naira . This payment is not official ooo. I had my passport and they will not allow me pass without 6k naira i spent almost 100k naira for the police.
The driver that took me from Ekok is terrible, very terrible. He does whatever he likes, stopped the car to meet his wife on the road. His wife brought food for him at Kunba. He didn't even ask for permission. We spent 2hrs at the place until he finished with his family.
He drives a Camry 2000 model with registration number 01 13 31. Avoid this guy as much as possible. He got half way and transferred me to a farm bus. It was a terrible experience with him
