    Hope you guys enjoy the video!
    For anyone who runs into problems using the Duplicate & Transform function (common for Mac and Linux users), I show how to fix it in this video: ua-cam.com/video/3pw7q-3QURI/v-deo.html

    Excellent! Gonna have to look at creating a library of these fun text options. many years ago I used to play with making fun text like this, kind of like kids cereal box type styles. But I never had the ability to live edit. Might have to do a library of variations of these to have on hand. There's more you can do here which is one of the most fun things about it. LOTS of options.

    @SweaterCatDesigns. Great video, but I ran into a problem. Having copied your instructions I saved the result as A ) an svg and B) a png. A) I wanted to use the svg file on a website but when viewed in a browser, it showed the two cloned pieces of text as two seperate pieces side by side in their respective colours. Any idea what I did wrong please? B) I viewed the png file in Gimp and the result was that the text looked out of focus with fuzzy edges when zoomed in. Agan, i blame me for the poor result. Any idea as to how I can improve on the results please? Thank You

    Fascinating - again. Thanks. On a similar issue, do you know an easy way to add a rectangular background to editable text that extends as more text is added? This would be handy for placing dimensions over lines with arrows on each end in house plans etc. I seems to recall finding a way once, but it was imperfect, adding varying amounts to each end of the rectangle.
    UPDATE: I found a way! I used a filter with a couple of offsets to add space top, bottom and sides, and changed background to white. I can end a file if you like (I'd need an email address to send to).

    • @SweaterCatDesigns
      @SweaterCatDesigns  11 місяців тому

      I thought there might be a filter that could work for this. Which one did you end up going with?

    • @geoffphil
      @geoffphil 11 місяців тому +1

      Filters/Fill and transparency/Fill background, then add two offset filters (one for left, top and another for right and bottom margins), move these to the top of the filter tree. Change background to white. So a bit fiddly, but I saved (off page) this in a default template so it is always available.@@SweaterCatDesigns

    What is the difference between Clone LPE and Regular Clone?

  • @tsayao
    @tsayao 11 місяців тому +2

    My clone does not show any path effect on the option list. What is wrong?

    • @SweaterCatDesigns
      @SweaterCatDesigns  11 місяців тому +2

      That happens to me once in a while. Might be a bug in the Path Effects dialog. What I do is I create a random shape and show the path effects for it, then delete the shape, and when I select the clone again, the path effects show up.

    Hmmm, my version of inkscape must have a bug because as soon as I add the path effect to the clone, it completely disappears.

      @StephenBoyd21 11 місяців тому +1

      OK, I grabbed the very latest version of inkscape and that fixed it. Hopefully someone will find this useful.
