I watched "Swarm" and "Blood Red Sky". I loved them both..
An argentinian movie called “aterrados” was a really nice surprise. I didn’t expect I was going to be scared given its poster 😂
Rock, Paper, Scissors sounds right up my twisted alley. Thanks for all the great recommendations!
Good luck! The sister is so creepy!
I just got way too excited you mentioned Blood Red Sky! It is easily my favorite horror this year so far. Ive also seen the Swarm, the trip, and a classic horror story.
For one that havent been mentioned yet -Der Goldene Handschuh by Fatih Akin. Its about the serial killer from Hamburg Fritz Honka. Fatih Akin directs the perfect ambiance fitting for such a person. You will definetly need a shower after watching it. With your love of Noe I think you may dig him Emma.
'The Trip' was fantastic - I had so much fun watching it. And I absolutely LOVED 'A classic horror story'. They're both on Netflix in the US if anyone wants to check it out. The Swarm and Blood Red Sky are on my watchlist!
I don't know how under the radar this movie is, but it isn't very known at least in my circles: The Platform. The movie is a few years old now, but I definitely enjoyed it and recommend it.
I’m wanting opinions from this community on Good Manners, a Brazilian werewolf story currently on Shudder. All the reviews on Shudder are impressive, especially for the people who comment on that app, but I’ve not seen any reviews from trusted sources yet. Really appreciate that you do lists on foreign horror Emma as many in the US, IMO, completely overlook this category and I often find the best gems from other countries.
I spoke about that earlier in the year! In a video about twisted fantasy horror I believe
Finally got to watch Incidents in a Ghostland. Very good. I was saying this reminds me of Martyrs and then I saw Pascal directed it and I was like I knew it.
"Terrified" is another great foreign horror film. With one of the creepiest body horror scenes since The Thing.
Assuming its the 2020 film the trailer points that the film could be pretty decent - thanks for the headsup
This is a Hidden Gems you should to talk also : The best Horror movie ever : 1) Lake Mungo (2008) by Joel Anderson. Nobody talk about it and it's a masterpiece... 2) The Turin Horse (2011) by Bela Tarr... 3) Begotten (1991) by E. Elias Merhige and Angel Heart (1987) by Alan Parker...
My favourite foreign horrors of the last year or so have been History of the Occult, Zalava, Name Above Title, All The Moons, The Last Matinee and Meander.
What a great list Emma. First time I've watched video like this a literally hadn't seen one of the suggestions. Usually with videos of this nature I've seen them all or been aware. Great vid!
Thanks for recommending The Swarm, Emma. I had it on my list for some time and finally watched it this morning. It was really good. I can always count on you, thanks!
Hey, Emma, don't know if you referred 30 Coins but it is definitely worth a view.
Yes I’ve looked into it a few times but it never looked like my sort of thing, although in know it is highly rated and because it’s a tv show I knew I’d have to dedicate a lot of time to it .
I've seen it! It's a really good horror series that also pokes fun at Spanish village society. I used to live in a Spanish village, so I loved it!
A Classic Horror Story one of my favorite films (not just horror) of the year. Although I did "not watch" a scene or two. I didn't know the star was in Revenge! (another favorite)
I’ve seen Rock, Paper, Scissors and A Classic Horror Story! Will get started on the others tonight! Splitting horror and Hallmark evenly throughout the holiday season lol
Lolll
Only seen The Trip but it was unexpectedly great. But all the others sound must-see. Thanks as always.
Hi Emma, just watched The Swarm on Netflix after your recommendation. I enjoyed it but those locust's give me the creeps. I also watched The Wailing on Prime, really enjoyed that one. I can also recommend a spanish horror called Atrocious, the ending stayed with me for days.
Great list!! I've definitely been putting off A Classic Horror Story but I'm also excited to watch The Swarm, Rock Paper Scissors and the Trip. Thank you for this great list!
Speaking of Joko Anwar, "The Forbidden Door" (2009) is FINALLY getting a blu ray release from Severin Films. Been waiting 10 years for that one.
Also, "Mimicry Freaks" (2019, Japan) and "Hell Girl" (2019, Japan) are two recent foreign horror flicks that were good entertainment.
Hi Emma, Hi Asian Movie Enthusiast
As Horror lover as well indonesian
Pleeease let me put some recommendation indonesia horror movies, that you might overlook...please check and review love see your review.

May the Devil Take You by Timo Tjahjanto

Kafir: A Deal with the Devil by A. Kinoi Lubis
Mangkujiwo by Azhar Lubis
☘️ The Trip is one I really can’t wait to see
So many of these I’ve been dragging my feet watching! This sealed the deal! Awesome vid thanks for the recs Emma!
“Jo Nesbo’s Headhunters” if you liked “The Trip.” Aksel Hennie in both.
I've seen The Trip, A Classic Horror Story, Blood Red Sky, and The Swarm. The Trip was easily one of my favorite movies I've seen this year, it was right up my alley, and I was also a big fan of The Swarm and Blood Red Sky. I'm adding Rock Paper Scissors and Show Me the Ghost to the watchlist. Thanks for the recommendations!
Glad you mentioned "Rock Paper Scissors" on your top. Greetings from Argentina!! 🇦🇷
I was wondering when you ever talk about 'Blood Red Sky'. I have wrote to you longggggg back when it was dropped in Netflix back then. Glad you've finally watched it. You're also right about 'Show me the Ghost' it's veryyyyy Super underrated horror comedy. Laughed from start to finish with my sister the night we watched😂😂. Happy that you noticed the recommendation and Big thanks to him who recommended you.
I've been meaning to watch folklore for a while. I did not know about show me the ghost but now I need to see it. Thank you
Thx Emma for these recommendations of hidden horror gems!
I've seen two on the list, I love it when you do these.
Blood Red Sky is fantastic. Looking forward to Rock,Paper Scissors and The Swarm. Great video Emma as usual. X.
3 of 7. Thought the Noomi Rapace movie was black comedy as well. Highly recommend what to Monday which you mentioned. Noomi R is excellent in that movie
I am glad you praised The Trip, I loved that movie, Noomi' s and Aksel Hennie chemisty is amazing! The Swarm and Blood Red Sky were OK, the latter didn't grabbed me enough, I must give it a second look; the italian movie was fun, though predictable.
Excited to give these a watch. Thanks for highlighting them
Thanks for some more additions to the watch list Emma, hope you are keeping well.
Only seen A classic Horror Story while The Swarm, The Trip & Blood Red Sky is already on my watchlist. Adding Rock Paper Scissors & Folklore both looks interesting.
I had not seen any of these recommendations.
Almost, I tried to see A Classic Horror Story but it didnt catch me in the first 30 minutes so I dropped it.
I will tro localte The Trip and Show Me the Ghost both of these sounds like my cup of tea.
You should finish it… it’s very twisty 😉
The Swarm and A Classic Horror Story are still on my watchlist, hopefully I can get to them before the year ends!
Coming back to this video to say I just watched The Trip and absolutely loved it. Thank you for recommending it!!
Yay I’m glad you liked it
Love the videos, do watch Lovely Molly, Calvaire I think its a very underrated horror movie no one ever talks about.
I have seen 1: The Trip. And I think that was because you mentioned it in another video actually 😅
1. The Swarm
2. Show Me the Ghost
3. Rock Paper Scissors
4.Folklore
5.The Trip
6.Blood Red Sky
7.A Classic Horror Story
I’ve seen Blood Red Sky and A Classic Horror Story. There is a dubbed version of Blood Red Sky on Netflix if anyone wants to watch it that way.
I´ve seen The swarm and A classic horror story. The swarm was good, not at all what I expected, in a good way. But I loved A classic horror story. Also not what I expected, but in a completely different way. That movie was a surprise and is one of my top movies from this year.
I haven’t seen the first two and I’m super excited to check them out specially Show Me the Ghost!! I loved The Trip and Classic Horror Story a ton.
Thanks for the recommendations, Emma. I haven't seen any of those films, but I will at least check out "The Trip" and "A Classic Horror Story".
I have seen none of them, but that is about to change. Subtitles: Bring them on! Thanks, Ms. Astronauts.
Have you seen The Evil Next Door? It's a Swedish horror I saw the other evening. I thought it was surprisingly creepy
Only seen Blood Red Sky but hope to watch some of the others
Every time I get a notification for a new video, I get a little happy feeling in my belly lol!
Have seen Blood Red Sky and A Classic Horror Story
A few new ones to add to the list. I’ve seen 4 that you mentioned. The Trip is a great recommendation. I loved it. Have you checked out Post Mortem: No one dies in Skarnes?
Have seen 4 - Swarm, Blood Red Sky, Classic Horror Story and my favourite The Trip 😀
Amazing recommendations.
The Trip was a real trip. Loved it and can't wait to see the others you suggested.
2 out of 7. Great list!!
Hey Emma, Any Folk horror suggestions? I really love Midsommar, and other cult-based horror movies.
I have a whole video on cult movies! :)
I haven't seen most of them yayy! You're a genius thank you! I've seen "A Classic Horror Story", it is good, and "Blood Red Sky" is very surprising, good too, I loved it! La Nuée ( The Swarm) is on my list, I love the actress she played in Zone Blanche ( Black Spot Who's excellent) , I was hesitant for The Trip, Ill give it a try!
Omg how funny- I’m on episode five of Folklore 💙🙏
Thanks for these! Adding a few to my watchlist. :) I hadn't heard of any of these before!
What a great list! I haven't seen any of them and I seek out these kinds of movies! Have you seen You Die (2018, Italian)? I think that one went under the radar big time. It's got a kind of It Follows vibe using augmented reality but I thought it was really well done and scary. It's free on Tubi right now. Only 334 ratings on IMDb, and only rated 4.7. I gave it an 8 and I'm a harsh critic. Thanks again for this list and all your great content!
I have not seen any of these but that's because i hate reading subtitles. But thanks always enjoy your videos.
Favorite UA-cam channel! Your recommendations are always spot-on. Thank you Emma & Gromit!!!🌵😻🌵
I've watched: the swarm (still don't know if it counts, cause I did fell asleep on that one ;-) , the trip (fun!), blood red sky (predictable, but still immersive), a classic horror story (that was a bit annoying tbh, but still worth the watch).
Assuming youre from Australia or New Zealand virtually every movie technically is foreign.
Ive not seen any of those films but the last horror films that are non English language that I enjoyed were Oxygen, Meandre. Im trying to recall if The Platform wasnt in English
One of the best uses of foreign language Ive seen or rather heard in a film is in the obscure flick Magic Magic it really places a non Spanish (?) speaker in the position of the main character where you dont undesrtand whats happening and why but have to go along with it. Im fairly certain thats a new idea. Its also worth checking out for a creepy performance by Michael Cera
Hey, platform isn’t in English and yes I’ve seen Magic Magic, great film!
Your videos must have a hundred times views 😌👆
- The swarm - No, no, no
- Show me the gost - To watch
- Rock, paper, scissors - 🤔 maybe
- Folklore - one day
- The trip - Not for me 🙄
- Blood red sky - hhm no
- A classic horror story - nope
Hey Emma! Great list here. Can you please do a video on Horror thriller Series/shows recommendations? Either on netflix or any other platform! Hidden gems would be perfect
I’m so shocked! I’ve only seen one of these…a classic horror story. My must horror list just got longer.
As for italian horror, check out “Il Signor Diavolo” by historic director Pupi Avati. Really creepy story and the execution is damn great
Great list! I've only seen two of these, can't wait to check out the rest.
The Swarm was one of my favourites this year
Same! So well done!
blood red sky was really good .
A classic horror story was really interesting, I think horror fans are the ones who will enjoy it the most because of all the references it has.
I would love to see you talk about older horror films.
I've seen most of these except Rock, Paper, Scissors and Show Me the Ghost. Will remedy that soon!
Swarm messed me up for a good day or two. It was so unsettling. I recommend it to everyone though! It's a fun time aha.
Super gems! I've only heard about 3 of these movies and watched none 😮
I typically watch or try to watch everything you recommend...however, the title "Swarm" makes me uncomfortable and then to find out the storyline.. I may have to skip that one. Lol. But the others, I've added to my watchlist! Thank you for another great video!
#Emma🥰👋🏽 awesome list👍🏽 "Daddy's Little Girl", I believe the name was..it was pretty disturbing & I've not heard it mentioned on 2 many platforms due to its content perhaps..Once was enough 4 me😌 oh & "The Vanished" a Korean horror😱😱👍🏽
Always excellent recommendations. Blood Red Sky is out there.
Can't wait to see The Swarm, not interested in 'funny horror' Rock Paper Scissors looks good, not into anologies, The Trip looks good. I might watch the Blood Red Sky but do not like action, A Classic Horror Story looks great AND this is the very first horror list i have seen none! Great job Emma.
My list of best foreign horror movies 1.The wailing 2.Raw 3.Audition 4.Gonjiam haunted asylum 5.Tumbbad
Blood Red Sky is excellent
The Closet & The Lingering. Korean films
Emma I will check out a classic horror story movie
I’ve only seen 4 out of 7! Got some catching up to do 😃
I’ve only seen A Classic Horror Story.
I’ve seen Blood Red Sky and Classic Horror Story. Enjoyed both!
Just watched Blood Red Sky, it was really good! Thanks for the recommendations.
Thanks for watching!
I have seen four of the movies on this list! I'm looking forward to checking out rock-paper-scissors next.
great list!
Among your recommendations, Ive only seen blood red sky. It was an awesome movie. And among your recommendations, i will be looking for all the movies EXCEPT the korean horror comedy. Your description of it, did not pique my interest, unlike the rest.
Update: i just finished watching The Trip and it was a blast!! Thank you for recommending it!! was looking for Rock Paper scissors but couldnt find it. Its not on netflix here in the Philippines. Where is it streaming?
Where can I watch Show Me The Ghost?
Blood Red Sky. That's the only one out of the 7 on your list that I've seen or even heard of. I'm ashamed of myself.
Don’t be ashamed! I obviously want to pick films I don’t think many have seen, not to shame anyone but to give recommendations that are actually helpful
@@spookyastronauts My horror movie playlist never stays empty as long as this channel exists. Thank you!
Only one i saw was Blood Red Sky
The Trip was far too "safe" for my decadent tastes, but it's kinda incredible to see Tommy Wirkola ever being taken seriously as a director. I still have traumatic memories of watching his debut Kill Buljo (utterly moronic bad-taste parody of Kill Bill) ages ago.
Oh sorry you feel that way. I thought it was great.
I watch blood red sky very good movie
where can i watch Show me the Ghost?
I have only seen two
Blood Red Sky was good. Not very original but effective at action sequences and emotion too. A Classic Horror Story was too classic (or more like predictable) for my taste. The last foreign horror movie I have seen is "The Deep House". It´s directed by Alexandre Bustillo (French director from the fantastic "Inside" or "À l'intérieur") but is not half as good.
Somehow I’ve seen zero 🤷♀️ I must have been slacking!
