I know Leif Babin and maybe Jonny Kim are Christians, but this is the 1st time I hear a guest point blank say on this podcast, "When you hit rock bottom, cry out to Jesus." Of all the great and important things we hear on this podcast, this is the most.

No bs, i was just starting recovery after 20+ yrs of
Addiction. I had to start my whole life over in a new city where i knew no one. Ironically i was a trainer in vegas for 12 years, i was a “functioning” addict and not gonna name drop, and dont know jocko personally but we have some mutual aquatinces from bjj.
Jocko, really helped save my life in the biginning of my recovery. Was the voice i needed, the dad, the brother, the coach and the motivation that i needed. Long 90 degree days doing landscaping, trying to fight off an opiod and everything else addiction.
Jocko will always be one of the most important humans ever to be narrating my life when i wasnt strong enough.
Hopefully i get to bump into him one day, so i can look him in the eye and tell him.
    Congrats on the 400 pod!

Respect to Mr. Adeleke for overcoming challenges and setbacks to achieve a better and more fulfilling life. I wish him continued blessings in his acting and directorial ventures, perhaps he could influence Jocko and Leif to become the next Harry Humphries and Dennis Chaulker of Hollywood. No prevailing creds to represent than having led the famed Task Unit Bruiser.

Around 50:00, the guest talks about the importance of movies in his decision to become a Seal, specifically the movie The Rock. I believe the role of pop culture and its influence on the best among us should be explored further. Every Navy Pilot from 1988 going forward was influenced by Top Gun. Every Marine-/and I mean every single one// from the release of FMJ has not only seen the movie, but can recite line after line after line and will tell you who was “private Pyle” in his own boot camp platoon. Vincent D’Onofrio may be the most influential actor when it comes to USMC culture than anyone (Sorry R. Lee Ermey fans…I love him, also!). The role of pop culture - at least, certain parts of it-- cannot and should not be minimized or forgotten about.

1:41:58: 😳 The candidate struggles with swimming and fails multiple swims and the tread test during dive phase.
1:50:35: 🏊 The candidate fails the swim tests in second phase of training and is warned about potential performance drop.
2:11:20: 💫 Remy has a spiritual awakening and transforms his life after encountering God.
2:21:43: 🔫 He recalls his experience of joining the team and going through training, including his time at human school.
