    Jocko I'm in the hospital right now for an infection in my bloodstream that ravaged my heart, and lungs... and I am suffering from hands that are unabled to open all the way due to a 2016 operation on my brain stem in my spine. I had triple epidural brainstem and spinal abscesses that was scraped off of me from the back of my skull to the middle of my back at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore. Hopkins neurosurgery saved my life and I am grateful for that, however, I am left with hands that cannot hold tools so I lost my career as an ironworker, and I also lost the ability to play guitar and to hold drumsticks. This is because my tendons were destroyed during all of this. Also, my back and neck after being scraped doctors saw this abscess wrapped around two of my discs in my neck, and decided it would be safer just to remove them instead of scraping them around to the front where I could have been disabled even more like paralysis or even death. So now, as I see myself in the hospital again for the same thing, I have you two watch and the amazing guests you have and their stories give me the fight and the will not only to continue living, but the will to Livestrong and get after it! Right before I was sentenced to 25 years in the year 94, I tried every branch how to service, and the Army recruiter allowed me to take the test, but due to one auto theft when I first turned 18, even they turned me down. So I continued to live a life of crime and wound up with 25 years which I did 21 years on it. Freedom from prison, and freedom in general it's something we must fight for continuously, because there are evil forces trying to take that from you continually. So be prepared everybody to get after it, and thank you Jocko for your words of encouragement and the actions you performed while serving this country. Not only do your actions confirm what you say, but they strengthen the weak, but inflame those needing a reminder. Over and out. From Baltimore Maryland. Frankie

    Joe Piersante is a knarly dude. He's an ex DEA agent who's exploits found him in Afghanistan as part of a DEA Fast Team that does not exist any more. In 2009 while on a mission in Afghanistan he was shot in the head that left him permanently blind in both eyes.. His story is truly inspirational.

    • @JR-ju3kj
      @JR-ju3kj 2 роки тому +2

      Indeed.He's a remarkable guy and when he was talking about the African-American criminal organization/group out of Detroit he helped roll up once,I think that he might have been talking about ''The Black Mafia Family''(also known as ''BMF'' and they've been associated with rappers such as Jay Wayne''Young Jeezy'' Jenkins and Barima''Bleu Davinci''McKnight).

I’m thankful enough to have my sight and to be able to enjoy reading. I do not know what’s it’s like to live unconquered in the aspect that this man does, but I found my own meaning in this slogan that he displays.

Amazing story for what he has done for this world and he still challenges himself daily even blind and a titanium forehead etc. only if we could all be like him… you can, you just need to believe and never give up. Such a great story I wasn’t expecting. Thanks and hope people reach out to him and give him any help he could use because he deserves it. He’s absolutely right about fitness saving your life during traumatic injuries. I had a colleague in his early 60s who a few years ago got in a car accident. A drunk driver, ascending a mountainous stretch of highway where we live/work, swerved out of his lane and hit my colleague who was descending head on.
    He was badly injured, unconscious (might have been a brief coma?), numerous broken bones and had a couple years of surgery and PT to this very day.
    He wasn’t a spring chicken but he’s a beast of a hiker here in the mountains of Northern NM, regularly doing 10+ miles on the weekends and probably hitting the gym or cardio equipment. The doctors told him that saved his life.
    Just another anecdote to prove this gentleman’s point, take care of yourself!

    From a recovering addicts perspective the war on drugs will never be won. We’ve thrown to much money fighting a losing battle. Legalize it regulate it, tax it and set up places that are safe for users. We can have places with nurses on site clean needles pipes etc. We won’t have to worry about overdoses, aid’s hepatitis rates will fall dramatically. Some people will always get high and that’s reality not everyone wants the help.
