Vicror Lafay won a TdF stage for Cofidis last year, after a 15 year drought. I'd say check back in a decade or so for the next Cofidis win 😂

Re: C-Rod's ascendancy to the lead in Romandie, Ethan Hayter contributed an EXCELLENT pull into the final mountain _...and it was nice to see him doing something other than hanging out at the back of the peloton._
The Decathlon AG2R success is down to one thing only…getting rid of those brown bib shorts.

A closer look at what has changed at AG2R would be fascinating. And I am not meaning this in the usual doping-shouters way but as a piece of journalism I would like to see. Have they hired more/different performance people? Have they changed something in regard to nutrition?

Was trying to reply in the previous conversation but seems like it was deleted. The owner of that comment said they are winning bc of VR bikes which take 25watts less than the crappy Lapierre bikes so thats why I said they were on BMC before.
But they were on BMC last year, weren’t they? And I find it hard to believe the Van Rysels are that much better than BMC (and that’s coming from someone with a Van Rysel)
@@oebombCH I also can‘t believe that all the difference comes from the bikes. They have to have changed something else in training/nutrition/altitude camps.
I'd love to see Dr Bridgewood (aka Ollie) do an analysis of Lidl-Trek's approach to the TTT in the Vuelta Feminina that had a larger rider sweeping at the back for Gaia Realini. How many watts were they saving Realini compared to having her ride at the very back of the pace line? As the aim was to keep Realini with the rest of the team so she could use her climbing ability to compete for the GC, this approach allowed them to win the TTT even though they crashed in the final corner. Realini was so fresh at the end that she even sprinted past her team mates to claim the red jersey at the end of the day.
Oooo nice idea! We're sure Ollie would love to get really nerdy about pro TT set ups 🤓 Any other teams we should look at?
This is the first time I’ve seen a team use a sweeper to increase the air pressure behind a protected rider in a TTT, hence giving them an easier ride - in essence pushing them along.

I seem to remember a rule about Finish Lines having at least 400m of straight line? UCI rules around race setups. If they don't or can't then check the rider for holding a straight line from the start of their sprint to the Finish. Anyone else tried to hold a corner at 60+ km /hr while sprinting?
Wait. GCN racing has no rights for Tour de Romandie but I can watch it in replay on Discovery+ owned by the same company. That however costs double of what GCN+ was but the replacement for the World of Cycling is on some Eurosport channel. Either they have all gone crazy at Discovery or they try to deliberately mess it up.
Are you in the US ? I’ve been toying with the idea of getting Flobikes. I didn’t know discovery + was up and running
@@phillippitts6294 No, I‘m in Europe. They left such a confusing mess after GCN+
@@phillippitts6294 In the US, all the stuff that was on GCN (plus actually more races) is on MAX with the B/R add-on. The add-on is free at moment. There seems to be more races on Peacock as well

Ah, Chopper is a term that can be used to describe someone who rides in a group without much care or respect for anyone else!
Great for DSM, but keep in mind that only one other top 20 sprinter showed up (Sam Welsford)
I think DAG2RlaM are racing so well because nobody is embarrassed being seen on TV wearing those brown shorts. Always hated those things.

I don’t understand the rationale: cancel GCN+ to save money (presumably) but not put up a replacement for it. So… Discovery+ ended up not earning any money from cycle racing fans, which meant they lost money. That’s some wise move… #sarcasam
When did counting a overall victory count as a stage race victory? I’d never heard of it till Dan started doing it. It’s rather annoying. It’s in its own category

I wont be watching or paying for or supporting anything that has Israel in it, and that now includes my favorite sports..sorry but if Israel is allowed to buy their way into these events with impunity, I wont watch. OFFICIALLY BOYCOTTING ALL CYCLING THAT INCLUDES AN ISRAELI TEAM.. BYE
