1. Pogacar (hes been killing it a lot this year) 2. Roglic ( if he does not crash he's second but he does he's 3rd) 3. Vingegarrd( lets face it unlike past years this year visma got hit and unlucky so i see 3rd if not 2nd if roglic does not crash he's not roglic, also wout not in tdf) 4. evenepoel (truth be told he's a dark horse cant really see it a win but who knows)
1. Pogacar - he has had good form this year and a month to get his head right. 2. Roglic - He showed pretty good form at Dauphine, and if he doesn't crash, he's good. 3. Evanepoel - Not quite there on his form, as he stated, but his ITT showed he is not far from it. Still, no one will let him ride away on a long break, until he loses time. And, I do not think he can ride Pogacar or Roglic off his wheel. 4. Vingegaard - his injuries have taken a big toll. If he was anywhere near healthy, we would have seen him racing by now. And, if he is close for the start of the TdF, he has a chance to ride into great form. However, his team is just not there either. Kuss is not on form, WVA is not either, and I cannot see that team risking their whole tour to support Vingegaard. The team will let Jorgenson compete for GC, until Vingegaard proves himself, and that means even less support for Vingegaard.
No one is talking about my chances (probably because I’m a slow non-professional 42 year old) despite my wife claiming that I “should win the Tour de France, the amount I’ve spent on cycling kit”. According to every argument we’ve ever had, she’s always right too. So put your money on me, I say.
These weekly GCN news shows just keep getting better and better! While I continue to be incredibly bummed out that GCN+ is no longer, I am very thankful that these still exist!
As a Belgian, I love how you pronounced Remco Evenepoel correctly without even hesitating. The same voor Dwars door het Hageland, dwars door Vlaanderen. Keep it up guys 😍
Yeah, You guys all would have known he was soon to hit the big time. First everyone else saw was that stage he almost won at the Vuelta/TdF? but he is smashing it this year. A classic win AND a stage race win!
While Pogacar has been crushing the races, it has been fun watching the Giro quite honestly I don't remember being glued to all the Giro stages like this year. He won by over 10 min to 2nd still was fun as heck to watch. This year will be interesting. Pogacar in recovery, Jonas in recovery. Maybe someone else sneaks by. But will be a fun one to watch.
Totally agreed. Everyone said.. oh it's boring.. because one rider dominating. But honestly, I'm glued to watch the Giro. Waiting what's next Pogacar will do. You know it's like watching the world championship of video game. You want to see the stronger guy crushing everyone. The manner that Pogi rode, is exciting. He doesn't hide behind his team like what Sky/Froome used to do. That's why it's exciting. It's Mano a Mano... leg does the talk. Love it.😍😍
Everyone's talking about Jonas form coming into TdF but even if Jonas is 100%.. You all forget about his team ? Half of Visma's riders had a crash, feel bad, don't ride like they used to (Kuss for example) and so and so forth. And he can't win without a team, even if he's at 100%
Jonas won't likely be ready. But Visma has so much depth that they're still able to staff a superteam, even if it's for Kuss. Wout at 90% is also still an outstanding domestique, and they have Matteo
@finnrichter1241 he had outstanding help from his team. He was simply so good that he dropped everyone early, including Pogi. If he "only won by 3min", his team would have looked more helpful.
@@veganpotterthevegan true enough, but that's kind of the point. Jonas on form doesn't need to rely so much on a strong team as does Tadej, for example.
@buddyyaussy5772 Pogi win his 2 TdFs with fairly bad teams. He'd very likely have 3 if he had a better team in 2022. No way would Jonas have won in 2022 with a bad team. Last year was a different story though. But we also don't know how much Pogi was truly hindered by that broken wrist
I don't know what is happening to SDworks had the moment but they are definitely their own biggest competitor at the moment, miscommunication and public dispute over contract does show the effects of flying to close to the sun. Looking forward to the broader split women peloton though
My opinion: Pogacar is the heavy favorite! Hoping Jonas will be in good enough form to challenge. Roglic is doing pretty good with his new team, but he is going to need another gear and stay upright to beat Pogacar. Remco is probably a year away - still needs to work on his climbing endurance! The crash this Spring set him back.
@@millerpils But he's also shorter. This affects the leverage of your legs and consequently the power you can push. That said, I think Remco should theoretically be able to become a world class climber.
@@millerpils Yeah perhaps. I am going to edit it. He just doesn't look as skinny as the other 3 top contenders. Hard to carry any extra weight on climbs.
I personally do t think Remco will ever be the GC everyone hopes he will be. If it wasn't for his ITT, his climbing at the Dauphine wasn't very good. I know he's coming off an injury but I really don't think Remco is what everyone hopes he will be
Jonas is incredibly focused and tough. If anyone can train himself back in time - its him. If he can't compete to win - he is not going to TDF. Why should he? Better wait and take Vuelta and feel good about the season going into 2025. He may start TDF less than 100%. But latest by day 10 - he will have reached 100%. Pogi knows and tactics will reflect this - they will do everything to put stage seconds, bonus seconds and time seconds into Jonas the first 1½ weeks to build an impossible gap. Interestingly, not having Roglic on Vingegaard's team is going to help Vingegaard, because Roglic will fight to keep Pogi within reach and Pogi cannot just ignore him allowing Vingegaard to follow best he can at first. If he races, Jonas ends #1 or #2.
My guess is that Vingegaard will come in at 95%, and ride very passively for the first 2 weeks letting Pogi guess who he needs to keep an eye on. It would be great for JV to have Roglic and other teams hunt for yellow had force Poacar to defend. Jonas will not do anything but stay on the wheel for the first 1½ weeks. and then see if his recovery gives him benefits
95%?!? How did you figure that. He was off the bike for weeks. At this level thats huge-did you see how average WVA when he started racing at Tour of Norway.
My guess is that Pogacar will try to build a big lead as soon as possible, so that if Jonas does find some form later in the race, he won't be able to make up enough time.
@@rlm4471 Pogi will try to break Jonas Vingegaard on stage 4 but it is not really that suitable and next one is stage 11. It is a gift to Jonas that all the hardest stages are in the last week with a hard time trial. If he is within 2-3 minutes going into stage 14 and back on 100% form then he has a good chance, but no doubt Pogi is the favorite, and that if Jonas wins it is going to hurt Pogi's standings
@@2011hwalker Jumbo Visma states that Vingegaard will only participate if he is 100%. I am 100% certain that it is a lie, and that he will participate if he is close to 100%. Percentages cannot be used that way! Will Jonas be as agressive downhill? He almost crashed twice in 2022, and was very impressive through corners in the TT in 2023. Will he leave an extra 20cm in each corner?
I don't see how anyone can see his display at Dauphine as a success for Roglic INCLUDING Roglic himself!! If I were him or his team director I would have some concerns!! This is not something to be proud of. This is something you need to be concerned with. He BARELY saved that win!! If that stage was 500 mtrs longer Roglic would have lost that!! Im training for my yearly tdf month by watching it and riding my trek on the cycleops 30 miles every day and only taking a break on rest days, and at 63, i still love cycling more than ever the new hip and bad knees are still holding up😂
Great TDF analysis -- except, imho, if Vingegaard isn't 100 percent or very close to it he won't start. He has a psychological advantage over Pogacar he'll want to keep and 2nd or 3rd won't be good enough for him. I think he'd rather take a Vuelta win.
But he looks really good. He came in 2nd I think in 4 stages at 23 Giro and 2nd in KOM overall. Unfortunately he was 22nd in GC but looking at him this season he's definitely one to keep an eye on. I just love seeing these lesser known riders causing disruption 🤘🏻🇬🇧
@@kennykaniff indeed, he does. Very exciting rider. I'm just not one prone to hyperbole. Strong one week performances do not necessarily translate to GC in Grand Tours. Let's wait and see!
With everyone in top shape it's easy: 1. Vingegaard 2. Pogacar 3. Roglic 4. Evenepoel Vingegaard's post-Basque-crash-form taken in consideration I will have to switch 1 and 2. But his form is, obviously, the big 'if'. And he might even get into top shape during the tour.
I agree. With this form, I only see Primoz fighting for podium. Considering that if Pogacar or Jonas in the race, they would have blown everyone's door. Just like Froome used to do. One of these days everyone who loves Roglic will die heart attack.. LOL. 🤣🤣 Considering how close call he always put himself in. Kidding aside, his trend of getting weaker at the last stage or the third week is continued. This could be his expose weakness.Maybe that's why we saw, he wasn't race as aggressive as before, coming with all guns blazing. I would love Primoz to win, but I think Tadej, with how he shown at the Giro, he is hard to beat. Unless Jonas, miraculously comes back to his form last year.
Agree 100%. For the first time in years, I am going to give up following TdF. The top contenders are at such a level, that it's so suspicious that I don't want to bother rooting for any of them. Years ahead will no doubt reveal their extraordinary training methods. To me it looks more and more like the bad old days are back.
I hope I'm wrong but this is Pogacar's to lose; Vingegaard isn't even healthy enough to have declared yet, Remco isn't yet good enough in the mountains, and Roglic has a pretty poor team. Pogacar's "altitude training" will ensure he isn't tired.
Bora is a strong team with Jai Hindley, Emanuel Buchmann, Aleksandr Vlasov, Daniel Martinez, and more. I guess I can't say I'm on top of pro cycling enough to exactly know if all those guys are going to the Tour/in top form, but the team is not weak.
@@arabidopsis7254 is it? Tell me about the great mountain domestique work from those guys. Martinez rode the giro and might not even go, Buchman isn't going, Vlasov is decent, Hindley is good but is less a diesel than an Alfa Romeo so I'd say that's tbc. Kamna also isn't confirmed. Look at what uae has and what visma had before they all got injured. Bora is not great
Poga and UAE team will be on fire, being the favourites. I don't see how vingegaard can be in full form so soon after his crash, and other teammates crashed as well so there's the question of how strong the overall visma team will be to help him.
8:30 "Peak Pog or peak Remco wouldn't have been dropped by Jorgensen there" as if Roglic was peak... he's a man which shows perseverance time and time again, not to mention he crashed 2 times. Kinda disrespectful of you to phrase it like this.
I really hope Jonas is back to near his best for the tour, and if he is I don't see him losing. He is simply too strong and consistent in the mountains. Also, I think he will only get better as the tour goes on and may be in fine form going in to the final week. That being said, you can't argue with Pogacar's form compared to the turbulent seasons of the other 3. I think peak Roglic can hang with Vingegaard (as shown aty the Vuelta last year) and Pogacar, but he doesn't look to be at his absolute best. And Remco is unfortunately not really a contender in my mind, I could even see him finishing behind the likes of Jorgenson and Rodriguez. Overall I'm going Pogi, Jonas, Rogla, Remco.
for the top GC riders it will depend on the strength & endurance of their teams, been a few crashes for some, pogi looked strong & looked like he was riding the giro as a personal challenge rather than racing for the placings, he may have peeked to early or he is in tremendous form, he wasn't happy not winning the tdf last year, vinni well who knows, due to fitness & his team, roglic has great patience, but he will have to ride pogi's race rather than his own if he wants to be on the podium
Looking at their form nobody will come close to Pogacar in the Tour leaving out illness or crashes. If Vingegaard does it will only concrete for me my opinion that he is on something after seeing his performance in last years Tour in the Time Trial he did. There is no way he should be able to compete with a fully fit Pogacar after the injuries he's suffered. I am surprised they are still talking about him being there. That crash in the Basque Country really has robbed us of something really special I fear.
Vingeguard should use the Tour as a training camp for the Olympics and let the chips fall where they may. Would love for Primoz to win, so I'm going to continue to think only positive thoughts!

I’m hoping all of the big four either don’t start or need to pull out early in the race so we get a decent TdF this year rather than a boring procession.
Pogacar only sure thing for the top 3 (and likely the win). Too many variables for the other three of the "big four." I am sure at least one of them will also be in top 3, but I won't be surprised to see another rider sneak onto the podium.
I think with all of the crashes this year, the GC race (for the top spot at least), will be over before the third week, with Pogacar in a commanding lead. Thus, the rest of the placement will be largerly determined by the shenanigans between the teams/riders fighting for lesser spots. This makes it less predictable and highly dependent on the luck. I don't believe Jonas will be in a good form, so I'm going for 1. Pogacar 2. Roglic 3. Remco 4. Jonas With riders in between them and (going on a limb here) with Roglic also being off the podium.
It’s big 2 and with jonas recovering from a crash it’s potentially big 1 imo. Remco hasn’t done anything to show he’s even in the conversation for a tdf podium never mind winning.
Remember Froomie came in undercooked for his Giro win because he always had a 'jour sans' in his third week. Coming in under form maybe a good strategy.
Remco is still recovering. On the time trials he'll take time on everyone, and i believe that remco is on level of roglic climbing wise. So i think podium is possible. Dont think jonas will finish, and if he does he'll lose a lot of time in the first week since he wont be in top shape.
I expect this year's TDF to be similar to this year's Giro. Pog has the best juice. Jonas won't be ready. Primoz is not strong enough and, unfortunately, will crash again. Remco always has stages where he loses a bunch of time. Sepp, Wout and a bunch of others don't seem to be fit enough Underdog such as Matteo? Unlikely for him to beat Pog

Simply impossible!! 🤘🏻🇬🇧
I predict Pogi, Rogla, Jorgensen, Vingegard... I would of course like Roglić to win this TDF, although that seems impossible at the moment, but maybe they will come to an agreement with Pogi... 😉 if the time gap is not too big - also think that Vingegard should not take part in the TDF this year after serious injuries, possibly to prepare for the Vuelta...

The Visma managers are very tight-lipped about Jonas' progress, and it is probably for good reason. The way Pog dominated in the Giro, Vingegaard will have to do a lot more than just recover. Is it possible for Jonas to win? A stage, perhaps, but the Tour? Not so likely. Still, he should race to build his strength, even if he just helps others on his team win.
The first week of this TDF is probably the hardest start ever. The first 4 stages are beasts. Jonas is going from MAJOR crash straight to TDF with not one single race day in him. The groundwork will be laid in those first 4 stages. Pogis will come out like a racehorse and put some real hurt on Jonas amd I don't see him recovering from it. IF HE DOES then we have our answer on whether he's on "the program" or not😉 🤘🏻🇬🇧
I can't see Vingegaard being ready to ride the Tour de France. His injuries are remarkably similar to those suffered by Julian Alaphilippe in Liege-Bastogne-Liege in 2022 - two fractured ribs, collapsed lung and cracked shoulder blade in his case. And we all know how long it took Alaphilippe to be back to something approaching his best. When he was being pressed about the situation during the Dauphine, Grischa Niermann didn't sound very optimistic about Vingegaard's chances of riding. If he does ride, though, it would be a surprise if he can compete with Pogacar.
Let’s be realistic Pogi will win end of story. There isn’t anyone strong enough to take him on. Few strong attacks on couple of stages from Pogi will get him a 3 or more minutes on the GS classification, the rest of the tour he will play it smart and keep his lead. Prove me wrong
As good as Vingegaard is, I don't think he can be considered a GC contender. If he manages a top3 overall, it would be a miracle. In my opinion, if Pogi doesn't win, it will be someone outside the Big 4.

If Jonas isn’t 100%, how about the 2 Americans leading Visio. I just hope the Pagacar doesn’t run away with the race by the end of the 1st week, but I’m thinking it’s a very real possibility
Pogi will win big, unless an unexpected crash takes him or his team out. A distant second will be Primoz Roglic (unless he crashes out yet again) and Bora/Red Bull. Third will be Visma and Jonas or Matteo Jorgenson unless Jonas has a miraculous rehab during his recovery Also Wout needs to be there and ready to give up his individual goals. INEOS is my wild card and could surprise us. The talent is there and if Bernal and Rodrigouz are on form it could be awesome and give Pogi a surprising challenge. Sudal, forget about them Remco doesn't have the mental strength for a three-week tour.
I agree on the Remco thing. I don't believe he will EVER be the GC everyone hopes he will be. I know he's coming off an injury but he's just not a GT GC rider!! As far as Jonas goes I'm not sure what to expect. I don't think anyone knows. Their team is definitely diminished and Pogi absolutely has a score to settle and is on unbelievable form this season. It will be a shame for Pogi when he wins cos everyone will say Jonas wasn't 100% The thing with Roglic is that he is notoriously known for cracking when it counts the most. His display on stage 8 of the Dauphine is something he himself and his team director should have concerns with. He BARELY held onto that final stage. If that stage was 500m longer he would have lost the entire thing. He got VERY lucky. Not what any team director wants to see 3 weeks away from TDF 🤘🏻🇬🇧
@@dannyjensen2123 my comment was speaking if Jonas is not on form. It's yet to be seen. If he IS on form it's going to be the best battle we've ever seen in the sport. If Jonas is 100% then yes I think he'll beat Pogi but I don't think Jonas will be 100%. If he's at 90% then Pogi will beat him 🤘🏻🏴
@@dannyjensen2123 your comment sounds a bit ridiculous tho because Jonas didn't have a "break". He was SERIOUSLY injured. Pneumonothorax is a very serious injury. In fact most people that suffer that injury are in hospital 7 - 10 days and Jonas was in a week longer than normal so it was definitely very serious. I think Jonas was in over 2 weeks. That's longer than what most people are in hospital for with that SAME injury 🤘🏻🏴
@@dannyjensen2123 I've followed Visma Since Sepp Kuss joined the team. So, I have an idea how strong and great this team has been since Roglic started leading them. Sepp has been instrumental to not only Primoz but also Jonas. Last year's TDF team was by far the strongest team I've ever seen Visma put out and arguable one of the best teams ever. UAE also had a strong team but not as strong as Visma and that to me was the difference. The way Visma could attack Pogi until they were ready to launch Jonas was spectacular to watch and had to be hell for Tadej as his team couldn't help him during those attacks. Tadej finally faded from all the matches he had to burn to cover the attacks and that's when Jonas took over in my opinion. This year UAE brings a stronger team and Visma is in disarray and even if Jonas is at 100% which i strongly doubt he will be, Visma will not have the firepower to support Jonas like they did last year. They lost two of their riders at the Dauphine and Wout Van Eart is also recovering albeit a little faster than Jonas, but he also has the burden of having personal goals in the TDF and it will further weaken Jonas' defense. Tadej is focused, UAE's one hiccup is the loss of Rafal Majka for the TDF. I hope you're right and Jonas is at 100% because it will be a spectacular tour this year and I look forward to it. FYI, I've been a fan of Visma since Sepp joined the team, so I do root for them and was excited to see them win all three tours last year.

I think Jonas would be asking too much of himself to race Le Tour. Huge injuries and yes, cyclists are not human, but still. Pog is the man to beat. He looked like he could have done each stage of the Giro twice per day. I hope he is pushed hard by Roglic, who i expect to podium. Ineos are always GC contenders so I'll give them a spot with Rodriguez
Actually Jonas has it better than Pogavar last year. Ribs and collarbone is easier and faster to heal than wrist. He also crashed three weeks earlier than Pogacar last year and he Jonas was training on his bike outside already just one month after crash so ultimately he has more than 3 weeks to get in peak form than pogacar did last year. Thats why I think Jonas will be 100% in this year TdF.
@@ronniescottie3634 He had surgery on thaz wrist which is harder to heal than fractured ribs and collarbone bro. Jonas was literally training in mountains after barely 5 weeks, not even that.
@@ronniescottie3634 you mean in his home on stationary bike? 🤣 he had multuple fracture in his wrist. You should try holding bike and ride with that bro. It takes like 6-8 weeks to heal and it hurts another couple of weeks after that...
As we look at things today, Pogacar has the be the HEAVY favorite. How can you think anything else as dominant as he has been? It's still in doubt if Jonas will even be at the start line for Stage 1. I bet he's not. He's missed too much training time to be in top form and he isn't there to do anything except win. Roglic is probably the best of the rest, but after the Dauphine does anyone REALLY think he's at Tadej's level. I don't and I'm a huge Primoz fan. Remco..? Please. I think the podium will be Pogacar, Roglic and Jorgensen.
Too early to call. It certainly seems like Jonas hasn't had enough time to be at 100%, but he's shown a remarkable ability to recover in the past. And he's one of the very few riders (if near 100%) who can dominate week 3 even with less help from his team. I think if Jonas bows out this year, it's Tadej's to lose. But if Jonas is able to get to 100% by week 3, Tadej will be regretting his decision to go for the double.
The FIRST 4 stages are the hardest start to the TDF ever!!! The ground work will be set in the first week!! It's prime territory to bury Jonas to where he can't recover from it. He's going from a major crash straight to TDF with not a single race day in him. It will be a shock to his system even if he's on some magical cocktail!!! 🤘🏻🇬🇧
Bora Hansgrohe, Team Visma Lease, UAE will be three biggest Armada. Primoz Roglic, Jonas Vingegaard, Tadej Pogacar will be the main threat and GC in TDF 2024. PR have given the clear sign to JV and TP. Good Luck to all gladiators.
With Dylan Van Baarle, Steven Kruisvyk, and Sepp Kuss out of the TdF, Jonas not at 100% likely, Wout has not been racing much since his crash - the only GC contender in the lot is Matteo Jorgenson who has had the best season of his life. My bet is that Wout and Matteo go for stages. And Tadej Pogacar wins the TdF.
Can you all please come to consensus on how to pronounce Remco's surname. Is it four syllables - "E-ve-ne-poel" with the emphasis on the 2nd syllable, as some GCN commentators say, or is it two syllables - "Evene-poel" with the emphasis on the 1st syllable, as other GCN commentators say?

Remco
1. Pogacar (hes been killing it a lot this year)
2. Roglic ( if he does not crash he's second but he does he's 3rd)
3. Vingegarrd( lets face it unlike past years this year visma got hit and unlucky so i see 3rd if not 2nd if roglic does not crash he's not roglic, also wout not in tdf)
4. evenepoel (truth be told he's a dark horse cant really see it a win but who knows)

Yeah, You guys all would have known he was soon to hit the big time. First everyone else saw was that stage he almost won at the Vuelta/TdF? but he is smashing it this year. A classic win AND a stage race win!
@cmarnold78 the stage win is not as impressive as the 2nd place overall finish

While Pogacar has been crushing the races, it has been fun watching the Giro quite honestly I don't remember being glued to all the Giro stages like this year. He won by over 10 min to 2nd still was fun as heck to watch.
This year will be interesting. Pogacar in recovery, Jonas in recovery. Maybe someone else sneaks by. But will be a fun one to watch.

Last year he also won without the greatest help of his team
Thanks for always having a sober take on things Dan!
Was all going so well till that last comment. He's 61-63kg, lighter than all of the main GCers except for skeletor JV.
@@millerpils He isn't that weight at the moment if you watch closely
He had punctured lung, cmon. For me, big question is, will Jonas ever be as good as he was. This tour? No way
@@peehi2 time will tell...
there is no bigger money machine than the tour, so no, even if he's not 100%, he will still go
My guess is that Vingegaard will come in at 95%, and ride very passively for the first 2 weeks letting Pogi guess who he needs to keep an eye on.

Looking forward to watching Biniam Girmay this year

Your top 4 prediction sounds reasonable. My may concern is whether Pog is doing too much.
Agree with that^ probably the strongest team
Why did you put "altitude training" in quotes?
@@arabidopsis7254 is it? Tell me about the great mountain domestique work from those guys. Martinez rode the giro and might not even go, Buchman isn't going, Vlasov is decent, Hindley is good but is less a diesel than an Alfa Romeo so I'd say that's tbc. Kamna also isn't confirmed. @@HarryVerolme why do you think?
He wont be near his best. Its physiologically impossible. He was in a frickin hospital. He has lost major fitness. No change he challenges Pogi.

for the top GC riders it will depend on the strength & endurance of their teams, been a few crashes for some, pogi looked strong & looked like he was riding the giro as a personal challenge rather than racing for the placings, he may have peeked to early or he is in tremendous form, he wasn't happy not winning the tdf last year,
vinni well who knows, due to fitness & his team, roglic has great patience, but he will have to ride pogi's race rather than his own if he wants to be on the podium

Good over view Dan
I don't believe Jonas will be in a good form, so I'm going for
1. Pogacar

I have the same opinion Dan about roglic 👍🏼
Don't forget the other 'G' (Thomas). He rode the Giro but not at the best ever level, perhaps he has some left to do a good Tour de France again :)

I don't see how anyone can see the display at Dauphine as a success for Roglic INCLUDING Roglic himself!! If I were him or his team director I would have some concerns!! This is not something to be proud of. This is something you need to be concerned with. He BARELY saved that win!! If that stage was 500 mtrs longer Roglic would have lost that!! That's not the sign of a champ. That's the sign of someone who got REALLY LUCKY and isn't on top form. Roglic is NOTORIOUSLY KNOWN for cracking when it counts the most. This is something I would definitely be concerned with heading into TDF if I were him or the team director!! NOT what you want to see from your GC 3 weeks away from TDF!!
Remco will never be the GT GC rider that everyone hopes he will be. He just isn't mentally equipped for 3 week races. He's not doing well with the climbs and the first 4 stages of this TDF are the hardest start to the TDF probably ever!! The groundwork will be laid immediately in first week!!
🤘🏻🇬🇧
If Jonas isn’t 100%, how about the 2 Americans leading Visio. I just hope the Pagacar doesn’t run away with the race by the end of the 1st week, but I’m thinking it’s a very real possibility
Visma Is a great team that they should keep their riders at home this year, Get them all healthy for next year. So they don't kill them.
I really can’t watch stage 4 of the tour of Britain any more, it literally hurts 😂
Don’t know about Vinegaard but Pogi looks like he’ll blow Remco & Roglic out of the water, only issue perhaps might be if it’s really really hot.
Pogačar!
Translate to Englih : Cake maker :)
It will be a shame for Pogi when he wins cos everyone will say Jonas wasn't 100%
The thing with Roglic is that he is notoriously known for cracking when it counts the most. His display on stage 8 of the Dauphine is something he himself and his team director should have concerns with. He BARELY held onto that final stage. If that stage was 500m longer he would have lost the entire thing. He got VERY lucky. Not what any team director wants to see 3 weeks away from TDF
🤘🏻🇬🇧
Pogi cant beat Jonas. Simple as that. Jonas Will benefit from his unplanned break and destroy pogi in third week.
If he's at 90% then Pogi will beat him
🤘🏻🏴
@@dannyjensen2123 your comment sounds a bit ridiculous tho because Jonas didn't have a "break". He was SERIOUSLY injured. Pneumonothorax is a very serious injury. In fact most people that suffer that injury are in hospital 7 - 10 days and Jonas was in a week longer than normal so it was definitely very serious. I think Jonas was in over 2 weeks. That's longer than what most people are in hospital for with that SAME injury
🤘🏻🏴
Hmm, why wasn't Lucinda Brand's win at Dwars door het Hageland not mentioned?
Roglic. Pogacar. Evenepoel. And Vingegaard.

Dude, you have too many ifs in your statement.
It doesn't change what I said
I think Jonas would be asking too much of himself to race Le Tour.
Pogacar 💪
Actually Jonas has it better than Pogavar last year. Ribs and collarbone is easier and faster to heal than wrist. He also crashed three weeks earlier than Pogacar last year and he Jonas was training on his bike outside already just one month after crash so ultimately he has more than 3 weeks to get in peak form than pogacar did last year. Thats why I think Jonas will be 100% in this year TdF.
Dude he broke his wrist🤣 while vingegaard was hospitalized for 2 weeks..
@@ronniescottie3634 He had surgery on thaz wrist which is harder to heal than fractured ribs and collarbone bro. Jonas was literally training in mountains after barely 5 weeks, not even that.
@@fangru7294 🤣Pogi was training days after it?
@@ronniescottie3634 you mean in his home on stationary bike? 🤣 he had multuple fracture in his wrist. You should try holding bike and ride with that bro. It takes like 6-8 weeks to heal and it hurts another couple of weeks after that...
@@fangru7294 Ur the biggest fanboy I have ever seen😂
As we look at things today, Pogacar has the be the HEAVY favorite. How can you think anything else as dominant as he has been? It's still in doubt if Jonas will even be at the start line for Stage 1. I bet he's not. He's missed too much training time to be in top form and he isn't there to do anything except win. Roglic is probably the best of the rest, but after the Dauphine does anyone REALLY think he's at Tadej's level. I don't and I'm a huge Primoz fan. Remco..? Please. I think the podium will be Pogacar, Roglic and Jorgensen.
Premier Four for TdF: Pogacar, Rogic, Vinegaard, Remco...Mateo Joregeson & Derrick Gee will finish Top 10.
I think Matteo Jorgenson may have a chance to stand on the podium in tdf this year, if jonas is not 100% ready.
Word
There’s no way Jonas is gonna be 100% by the tour. It’s just not enough time for him to recover fully in my opinion
He only need to be his best the last week.
@@systemicchaos3921 with the team uae is sending? And the question marks on visma? He could be down significantly by the 3rd week
@@systemicchaos3921 even G and Johan Brunyl gave Pogi the advise to knock down Vingegaard as early as possible (first week full out)
The FIRST 4 stages are the hardest start to the TDF ever!!! The ground work will be set in the first week!! It's prime territory to bury Jonas to where he can't recover from it. He's going from a major crash straight to TDF with not a single race day in him. It will be a shock to his system even if he's on some magical cocktail!!!
🤘🏻🇬🇧
Pogi, Jonas, Roglic, Evenepoel (I hope he does better but he didn‘t look good in the mountains in the dauphiné)
Remco for the tour
Can you all please come to consensus on how to pronounce Remco's surname. Is it four syllables - "E-ve-ne-poel" with the emphasis on the 2nd syllable, as some GCN commentators say, or is it two syllables - "Evene-poel" with the emphasis on the 1st syllable, as other GCN commentators say?
Seeing has form this year, if Jonas is still injured I think Jorgenson will be on the podium. Obviously Pogacar will win if he doesn't crash.
1. Vingegaard
2. Pog
3. Rog
4. Remco

Ah, Jayco...ambitiously aiming for Top 5 or Top 10
If they can make a GT winner out of Chris Froome then Tarling has a very big future in cycling
Don't underestimate Felix!
I predict that it can be a UAE white wash for the podium at tdf if there are t any crashes. ESP considering that Rog almost did it again! Jonas unfortunately may not even start -I think he shouldn’t and instead prepare for Spain.
Pog. Yates and Ayoso/Roglic.
