Dieses Lied war immer schoen. Es fehlte nur der richtige Saenger dazu. Mit der Zeit findet alles einfach so zusammen. Respekt mr Bowie and Gilmore. Super Performance.🎉🎉❤
Bowie is that one eclectic soul that comes along once in a lifetime. He hears everything, ignores most, enchants what he feels is best. Nothing sticks, nothing breathes him. Pinpoint will not work. The man is his own.
I sure can relate to that. I was shocked & miss him still, but his music will continue forever. This video is so good! He's great with my favorite guitar player, & all I can say is that David Gilmore had better outlive me!!! I've only seen him once, but of course it was a great Pink Floyd concert back in the 80's in Atlanta, Ga. Practically impossible to get tickets anymore, but good ol' Utube & a great speaker(s) will be just fine to hear all the good old musicians along with a good many of the new ones also.
Every. Single. Time! Every time I listen to this I am transported to a new and magnificent place I've never been. And my goosebumps achieve new levels of sensation that make the experience all the more euphoric. The cherry on top is the joy I feel seeing that dude dance in the back!
One of the great things about Mr Bowie is whatever song he sings it sounds like it's his! Which is an amazing thing to pull off. And like everyone of my generation we're going to miss the little devil.
I always believed that this is one of those songs that Bowie wished he could've originally written... If you take out David Gilmour and Roger Water's vocals, but keep Bowie in there, IT IS a David Bowie song..
I’m 55 and never saw this before now. I grew up listening and watching these guys. This was amazing to watch. Just wish the producers would’ve realize that Gilmore’s solos are so epic, that the guitar needed some of that very well done spotlighting during the solos. Even a couple of LEDs lighting the fretboard…anything to watch his handiwork.
Just... amazing. I love Roger Waters, but Bowie brings a very different feel and arrangement to this classic track. I'm not a musician, but I consider David Gilmour to be one of the absolute greatest guitarists in history. Nobody - and I mean *nobody* - sends me flying with a chill down my spine like the unique sounds of David Gilmour making his Strat sing like an angelic choir. Both artists really stuck the landing on this duet. Bravo!
I am a guitar nut, and I would say that while his playing lacks the dexterity of an Eric Johnson, or the technical virtuosity of Joe Pass or Wes Montgomery, what he EXCELS at is BIG, LYRICAL, MOVING, Blues-Rock. It is the emotion he conveys that makes him a legend. His guitar is always very recognizable and very sad and very beautiful.
I am so blessed to have grown up with these bands. They all took us to a place that generations to come will ever venture. The music will never be duplicated. Teach your children and grandchildren this music. Share listen and enjoy with them. Peace and rock on.
I sometimes wonder if every generation feels that way, but honestly I think you’re right. We were so damn lucky and the test of time has, indeed, been stood.
IMHO, there’s very VERY little that can stand up to a Gilmour solo. Nearly every one I’ve heard has touched me profoundly. Hard to explain but I suspect many of you will understand what I mean, more than likely agree. REAL music lasts forever. Peace.
Phantastisches Duett.
Dude if you like music you can't but love *Bowie!* I'm English 60 & probably have an album collection now stretching over 2000 pieces, the guy was a literal *GOD* to us English kids back in the day. Forget the crap he produced in the 90's on but listen to his 70's stuff! 👍
Oh my dear lord, how does Dave Gilmour do it! how does he pour so much feeling & emotion into that guitar. It makes my heart skip a beat, makes me hold my breath, my hairs stand on end and always always brings me to tears.

Icarus same too man. On the day of David Bowie's passing, I cried so hard listening to him sing this with David Gilmour and Rick Wright. He brought such an incredible performance on this classic masterpiece.
This is the best version ever!!! Everything is perfect! And Bowie’s part sounds exactly how it always should have been done! His cracked and suffering voice followed by pure and comforting Gilmour’s. Just stunning! My favorite record of it!!!
David Gilmour has an amazing voice that so completely fits the amazing music he is bringing through not to mention the equally amazing guitar. In a league of its own.
I’ve seen may bands live in concert and the singers don’t always sound great. These 2 sound absolutely amazing. I wouldn’t expect any different from them. They’re perfect to see live and sound wonderful.
Mind blown. What a combination of talent. My favorite PF song with David Bowie singing...Thank you so very much for posting this. So sad Bowie is gone.
I love how the crowd applauds when Gilmour starts singing the chorus. To hear that voice come out live in that room would've given me chills.....Who am I kidding... I would've been crying my head off once I heard that.
2 of my all time favorites 💙 Such a part of my life - both of them - from the early 70s to today. Oh, the memories I have with their music - forever in my head, heart and soul. 💙
2 legends Bowie is missed grew up with his music always loved I remember hearing on the news of his passing gone way too soon but he will never be forgotten
I forgot how much I love this song. Laying on my beanbag in college, big bulky headphones plugged into the stereo and the volume cranked all the way up… I felt like I’d fall into the music once David Gilmore started singing. Great memory.
Man, this just brings tears to my eyes, and a happy remembrance of Bowie all at the same time. I agree, he could put himself in the moment vocally with anybody's music he performed. This is an epic performance with David Gilmour and his band. Glad I saved it on my You Tube favorites. What a combination Gilmour and Bowie, both David's !
You express all that I feel about David and what he always offered at his live shows. This one saved to share w/ all bc of utube is such a breath of good air... thanks

This would have been the once in a life time experience, two amazing talents brought together. I’m thankful to say that I lived in the time of “Bowie” and “Pink Floyd”. What an amazing experience this would have been. 🎸🤘🥹
God, for me, this is THE version. Goosebumps from the first to the last note. And some wonderful Dad dancing going on. That said, I think the audience must be paralysed in awe. I would be running round in circles going nuts, I think (with lots of embarrassed people thinking "for goodness sake, woman, sit down".)

Bowie singing was very haunting in a Bowie way. Well done.
One of the best pieces of music ever written!!
I love how Bowie stayed back when Gilmour's parts came. Very respectful.
Its More Like Theyre Firing For Effect😉
He was a true class act 💖
100%, David Bowie was a true musician and respecting the craft

Oh my God, you are totally correct! We must be from the same generation!! Beautiful COVER!!
I was fortunate to see Bowie twice in 1974. Diamond Dogs and Plastic Soul tours . Nothing ever came close since.
I saw the Glass Spider Tour TWICE and the Black& White Tour aka Sound & Vision...oh, what perfection he was that Space Angel.
Bowie is that one eclectic soul that comes along once in a lifetime. He hears everything, ignores most, enchants what he feels is best. Nothing sticks, nothing breathes him. Pinpoint will not work. The man is his own.
Not here though. So what you've said is senseless.
