Thank you thank you thank you for your simple explanation on how to wire elements in parallel. I've been needing to do this for a long time for my heating mat under my plants. You've don a great job at being clear in your instructions. Great job!
@Saltypeanuts1 He's putting the plastic insulators on the clips. The electricity going through the metal is "exposed" so you surround them with a pre-made plastic clamp.
Nice thanks for the video i am thinking of either converting a entertainment center into a set of vision cages or just making a rack all my snakes are in tanks right now on UTH's i keep balls and corns we just got our first in Jan they are going to be a pain to regulate in winter so i was thinking of switching to the rack. Especially since a friend of ours gets a lot of rescues that she sometimes needs somewhere to go which means i need to build a quarantine rack on the other side of the house.
Its whatever size heat tape that works for you that's going giving your Reptiles the sufficient heat it need. it also depends on the ambient temperature of the room like for an example I'm using 36 inch tubs right now but I'm using the 4 inch flex watt to heat up my tubs because my room stays at ambient temperature of 80 degrees at all times
How bg are the tubs where u r using the 3in flex tape? I have two 12x20 n 14x48. Will 11in b too much? New snake enthusiast here . Any help will b great!
GOOD VIDEO JUST WISHED YOU WOULD HAVE SHOWN A BETTER VIEW OF HOW THE ALUMINUM TAPE WAS PLACE AT THE END AND HOW YOU CONNECTED THE HEAT TAPE TO YOUR THERMOSTAT
Hey dude, way good video, it was all I couldn't find on any other vids! mainly wondering how to snake the heat tape together, so what type of wire did you use to snake it, and where can I get it for how much?
Awesome video, it was very helpful. I plan to set up my heat tape the exact same way for my geckos. Is there any chance u can do an update on the flexwatt insulation or racks you've built? Just curious how it's holding up or if you've changed anything since then? Also what wood did/do u use for taping the flexwatt to, I bought a thin plywood type underlayment, hoping it works. I will be putting mine together this weekend.
So foesbthebtub come in contact with the heat tape or is there a small gape between them . I'm new at snakes and will be getting some soon . Trying to learn all I can .thank you and I subbed
does it matter which side of the heat tape is facing up? i noticed you have the side with the heating element facing down. wouldn't it make more sense to have the heating element side facing up?
Where diid you get the wire? Did you get it from Reptile Basics by buying the "Wire/Clip/Insulator Set"? And because you are snaking and doing 4 rows.... then 2... then 3... for your different kinds of snakes... does that mean you need multiple helixes for that one rack? And what kind of helix do you use?
Alright.. Well right now I am using a heat lamp.. and it is totally draining out the humidity. but even if I don't have it on the humidity is still low. How do i keep it up? I have my ball python in a 28quart storage tote. Newspaper. Big water bowl.
I have a probably dumb question i don't keep my rat's in racks but if i ever did would i need them in a different room than the snake racks i am pretty sure the answer is yes. Currently my female rats are in a large converted Cocktail/Parrot cage, the males in a smaller one until i can go buy another big cage. I never plan to have enough rats to need a rack, but if it does happen it's something good to know.
Good shit! But once you get your heat tape all wired up, I assume that you go ahead and connect that cord to a thermostat to regulate the temperature right? I'm just getting into keeping ball pythons but this simple enough I could do it 😁
Thank you thank you thank you for your simple explanation on how to wire elements in parallel. I've been needing to do this for a long time for my heating mat under my plants. You've don a great job at being clear in your instructions. Great job!
Best video on how to build the snake rack I've seen yet
Thanks so much for this vid man, I'm building my rack system now for my leos and I couldn't figure out how to do the heat tape.
What a great video man i really appreciate it. Perfect description. Everytime i thought of a question you'd anser it haha.
Thanks alot
nice video very informative and although it is a fairly easy thing to do, some people still need to see a step by step. keep up the good work
this is legit dude im definitely doing this to my enclosures
wow i really needed this video thanks for the video
Great rack. Only chqnge i would make is to router the flex watt tape into the wood so its not touching the plastic
thank you. now I know how to put in my flexwatt tape in my visual tanks (diy, entertainment center visual tanks)
@Saltypeanuts1 He's putting the plastic insulators on the clips. The electricity going through the metal is "exposed" so you surround them with a pre-made plastic clamp.
Really helpful. Thanks, man.

Very useful, thank you very much!
Would you mind putting a link to all the different materials you used in the description?

great video. I build all of my own racks too. You have a good technique. I
Nice setup man
Nice job does the silver tape say down on the wood

thanks for the helpful video
Thank you Good luck I will check up your videos.
no problem, I am glad that my video was useful for you.
Thank you I'm glad it was helpful..
Great video. Where do you put the heat probes at?
Where did you get the clam pieces from and wire to connect the heat tape

this would be really helpful if u could tell me where u got the plastic clips for the heat tape please?
Hey Blake. What's the best way to fix if your wire slipped out of the clip?
Awesome man THANK YOU!
How bg are the tubs where u r using the 3in flex tape? I have two 12x20 n 14x48. Will 11in b too much?
New snake enthusiast here . Any help will b great!
Great video! Thanks for sharing. What gauge wire do you use?
Very helpful, thankyou
Hey Man, it is a nice video and im ready to built mine too, but where can i buy the plastic insulator and the metal clips?
Hey man great video! Does it matter what gauge of wire to use to connect the flex watt together? thank you
how do you plug multiple cords with flexxwat attached into one thermostat?
How do you strip the wire and get the copper out of the plastic after cutting the wire?
GOOD VIDEO JUST WISHED YOU WOULD HAVE SHOWN A BETTER VIEW OF HOW THE ALUMINUM TAPE WAS PLACE AT THE END AND HOW YOU CONNECTED THE HEAT TAPE TO YOUR THERMOSTAT
Could you tell me what the plastic covers were that you put over the wires?
Hey dude, way good video, it was all I couldn't find on any other vids! mainly wondering how to snake the heat tape together, so what type of wire did you use to snake it, and where can I get it for how much?
where did you get the flexwatt and the snaps and stuff , and the wire for snaking thanks man

so to use multiple lengths of flexwatt is all i have to do is split the cord in 2 pieces, put the wire in the clips and do the same for the others?
@zucabrasil home depot i use the 36 qt sterilite
Does all those things come included with purchase. Such as, wires. Clips?
vice pliers are a great idea.
Blake where is the best site to buy heat tape online? Also, do you order an extra cord to use to join the different sections together.
Do the clips come with it?
Good video thanks for sharing
curious if you can show how to cut the tape cause i wanna order a roll which is cheaper to do them order custom cuts thanks :D
So foesbthebtub come in contact with the heat tape or is there a small gape between them . I'm new at snakes and will be getting some soon . Trying to learn all I can .thank you and I subbed
Where can I get the flex watt heat tape and the wiring and the silver tape ?
were did you buy your flexwatt from and foil tape is it possible to buy all of it from a hardware store?
Where do you get the clips to put on the heat tape?
hey! whered did you order you heat tape/insulators/foil tape?
@TTYKL No the tape don't come with the clips and I also control the heat tape is a Helix
Blake are you going this Sunday to the white plains expo? If
does it matter which side of the heat tape is facing up? i noticed you have the side with the heating element facing down. wouldn't it make more sense to have the heating element side facing up?

Where did you get your clips from
Alright.. Well right now I am using a heat lamp.. and it is totally draining out the humidity. but even if I don't have it on the humidity is still low. How do i keep it up? I have my ball python in a 28quart storage tote. Newspaper. Big water bowl.
@wellwellcoolkid You welcome
What are the clamps called?
I have a probably dumb question i don't keep my rat's in racks but if i ever did would i need them in a different room than the snake racks i am pretty sure the answer is yes. awesome vid bro. thank you so much.
@ezReptiles968 thanks
If you are in new york area I will be in the White Plains expo and in the New England expo also this month I will be in the Reading expo center P.A...
holy shit ur the first person I've seen with my last name!!!
Good shit! But once you get your heat tape all wired up, I assume that you go ahead and connect that cord to a thermostat to regulate the temperature right? I'm just getting into keeping ball pythons but this simple enough I could do it 😁
I am confused.... you said to not cut on the black part but the manufacturer says you are supposed to cut on the black lines...
@chemiKalz you welcome
best. video. ever.
Man where could I get a roll of flexwatt? Thanks!
@OblivionIce You welcome
Thank you
great job bro, def way cheaper building our own then paying 2 grand for a set up like that. awww yea
@giddymoon Snaking the flex watt is not a very good idea because using 6 feet of the 3" & 4" flex watt it become a fire safety
Are you still selling this stuff and willing to connect it?
Yes you can get it like that!
thanks
Alright Thanks
@ezReptiles968 you are welcome any question feel free
Yes you need a thermostat..
It work for me but i have a different rack system know
I put the probe on the Heat tape.
Thanks
@davidsfinegeckos thanks
@kwas9076 you welcome any question feel free to ask
@ezReptiles968 Any question feel free
I used to use plywood but now I use pegboard.
I do still sell it, and I do connected just let me know the size you need so I can give you more less a price range.
I use newspaper... It's a lot cheaper and does not harm the snake.
thank you
Blake Quiros 👍
