Thanks for the answers! and great Q: and A: format on the video. But i do have one more question about the temperature aspects of things : What kind of tubs rack systems do you prefer the most since some tubs are thicker than others ?
I know this is a old video, but Do I really need a small gap between the bottom of my snake bin and the heat tape? Or can I just lay my tub right on top of the tape?
How do you know you’ve overloaded your thermostat? We have a four rack 3” tape. All the levels have their own male plug into the thermostat. Our issue is the bottom two strips have burned. Not sure if the snake spilled water and that set it off or loose substrate or caught between the flex tape and bin. We’ve never noticed the melting, but notice when we go to feed. It’s happened twice with the same snake/bin... can we lay new flex tape over the wood or do we need to refinish it because it’s been, idk it’s not charred but... 😳
I bought some thg heat tape (made in Korea), thinking they were flexwatt brand (made in US). Do I need to replace the heat tape or do people have a good experience with thg heat tape?
Can you use electrical tape instead of clips? And say you have a tub-rack system that 2 tubs wide and 5 tubs high, how do you recommend plugging or installing the tap? Do I have to buy a dozen cords for all the strips? Or would it be better to make the flex heat strips snake all around? My friend has 9 leopard geckos separated in tubs and made a rack system, but does not have proper heating for them and he's putting them in my care. Up till now I've only has 6 glass tanks and I've used bulbs so I'm feeling a little out of my element. It needs to be as cheap + efficient as possible, and I want to give them the best possible and fast. TT-TT Anyone experienced with this can send me recommendations.
