i like seeing the Kohler install, step by step. the way I recommend is the dope first, then the Teflon tape second. it keeps the dope from getting everywhere. i do like seeing how other parts of the country (i am western Kentucky) plumb their stuff. i use Delta here, because of the simplicity of the cartridge; extra parts leads to complexity and possibilities that are negative.
3:59 have you ever sold red this connection on before, or ever thought to? Done myself and lot of plumbers, installers do this; along w/ similar connections, instead of using blue monster tape (ptfe) etc…. Curious for thoughts, thx for vid✌🏻
I didn’t quite find the answer I was looking for in your video, so hoping you might have some advice…we had a new shower remodel that included a similar Kohler shower valve and handle assembly to what you show here, where the handle has no set screws but instead threads onto a collar on the valve assembly. Ours was part number K-T73133-4-BN, and called Composed. The problem is, the shower handle moves in and out from the wall about 1/4 inch, and appears to be due to the fact that the collar it threads onto in the valve assembly has the much play in it. Is there any way to take that in-and-out play out if that collar on the valve, so that the handle isn’t moving in and out from the wall?
Hi there, instead of going from cold to hot as you turn the handle, my handle is hot right away and is coldest at the top, (The H and C is switched). How can I switch it so the temp controls are correct? Thank you!
are there not service valves to adjust the water pressure? you were clear on how to adjust the temp via the tab stop but what if i need to adjust the water pressure? I actually have the problem of too much pressure and want to turn it down. thanks
The previous owner of my house use this valve, so I’ll use this when I install a bathtub! Can you show how it limits the temperature? Thanks for doing this.
Curious why you chose not to take advantage of the flexibility of Pex and just bend that line to the shower head instead of putting in the two 90s, which reduce pressure and create more potential for leaks?
Thanks for everything your doing with the UA-cam videos. Just finished framing my new bathroom and your videos have been a blessing.
This video was clutch for this VERY non-handy man doing my own bathroom renovation! Thank you for the step by step detail with product guides as well!
Steve, if you keep making videos this detailed you are heading for UA-cam stardom.
Such a cool installation

Dope, Teflon, dope is also common. It's engineer recommended actually. Situations like in wall connections I tend to go that route. Never leaks.
Great video! Thanks.

Thanks so much for this video. I now know why my shower head is only giving me half pressure!!!

Any tips on installing a Rite-Temp K-11748-KS-NA?

thank you very much...excellent

I have to replace the handle/valve only. Do I just pull the old one out?
I have to drill a hole for this valve in the shower pan, would a hole saw be best?
I replace my Kohler stem and the PBU and now I cannot get my water to stop running? What do I do now?
Thank you.
Steve looks like you did not use the plastic trim guide. Do you find it easier to leave it off?
Same question ... trim guide is sticking out beyond Schluter Kerdi ... can I use valve without this?
Do you still recommend this shower valve hydro rail system? I am doing a tub and would like a shower head, wand and tub spout.
My child damaged the mixer, and now I only have hot water. Do I need to buy a whole new mixer?

GV I just want t solder neat.
Why's the handle not facing down?

I have 1.5x5.5” studs in my bathroom so not a single video I’m finding on the internet is helpful at all😬😬😬
👍🏻
Stop saying “basically” so much!
