Also, the haunted mansion had a different bride before Constance Hatchaway. Before it was another bride(whose name I forgot) who was thrown out the attic window. Which is why we had the going out the attic window thing. And she had a lit up heart as to signify her love for her groom.
I am a huge Disney expert and nerd and I know almost every fact about the park, but I learned so much from this video! Nice job!

I loved this video but there is a minor correction. While Paul Freese is the voice of the Ghost Host, he is not the voice of the pirate skull on POTC. He is the voice of the Auctioneer and many others, though. The voice of the skull is X. Atencio. Mr Atencio can also be heard in the Disneyland Mansion, he is the voice that tells you that "Playful spooks have interrupted our tour, please stay seated in your doom buggy, please.
HI! Thanks for the info!! And you're right! We made the mistake of calling it a skull, but what we meant is that the voice that tells us that "Dead men tell no tales" is Paul Frees, not the skull! :)

Haunted mansion is my favorite ride at Disneyland
Wait, when we're lowered down into the back yard in the doom buggies after we get out of the attic, that's supposed to be us dying and becoming ghosts? I never really got that. LOL Also, in the song at the end, the first line says, "If you would like to join our jamboree," and Little Leota tells us on the way out to "be sure to bring your death certificate," like they're inviting us to join them, not that we have....so ever since I first rode on the Haunted Mansion, I've apparently been dead all this time? XD
Its just one of the many theories out there, but I love it haha :D

Not to kill the mood or anything, but the haunted mansion is in my bottom 3. I hate being scared.

When I was going with my family to WDW every summer, back in the 70's and early 80's, I was in charge of the "map" as we went through the Magic Kingdom. One year I had the thing upside down as I opened it and saw '666'. Kinda freaked me a little and I turned it over to see '999'. I laughed a bit and showed it to my very religious Grandmother who from that day on would never ride the Haunted Mansion again. She was convinced it was a bit more nefarious than she previously thought. Or, she just wanted more time for Dole whips and shopping, and a break from the grandkids.
Hahaha I think it was the Dole Whips ;) Haha that must have been scary 😂😂

I'm pretty sure that the skull and bones in pirates was voiced by Xavier atencio not Paul frees. Paul frees voiced the ghostly echoe of dead man tell no tales.

I don't believe in the idea of the guests dying and becoming ghosts for a few reasons:
1) Both versions of the story and song records explain specifically how the characters get down from the attic window. In one they use trees and in the other they go down stairs.
2) The Grim Grinning Ghosts lyrics go:
"IF you would like to join our jamboree, there's a simple rule that's compulsory, Mortals pay a token fee, Rest in peace the haunting's free, so hurry back we would like your company." That's a big "if" at the beginning there, isn't it? The song lays out the rules for you IF you want to join their jamboree. The fee for joining is your death, which wouldn't have happened yet if they're telling you how to do it, which they don't do until well after the "fall."
3) The hitchhiking ghosts are following you home to haunt you, but ghosts don't haunt other ghosts. They can gain portability from their location by attaching themselves to a mortal visitor (these aren't rules from the ride, but generally accepted rules about ghosts through most of western culture).
4) Both little Leota and the lyrics of "Grim Grinning Ghosts" ask you to "hurry back" to the Mansion after you leave. Here's the thing - - ghosts don't leave the place where they die. They are typically stuck within a certain distance of the building or patch of property where they were at the time of their death. They certainly don't get into cars or planes and travel someplace else to live (not unless they attach themselves to a mortal host as we discussed above). If you were already a ghost you wouldn't have to "hurry back," because you wouldn't be able to leave at all.
While the hypothesis that the guests die while falling from the attic window has a certain macabre appeal, the facts of the ride and widely accepted ghost lore don't support it.
Idk about Tokyo because I have never been but they have "Phantom Manor" instead of "Haunted Mansion" at Disneyland Paris and it's only similarities to "Haunted Mansion" is a portion of the layout. Great video btw I love this channel!

Minter Mind No, that's a rumor that came up when the ride was being built. Since the actual building for the Haunted Mansion came up in 1963 and sat there until it opened in 1969, rumors started spreading around about what had happened and why the attraction didn't open. That was one of the rumors.
