I got stuck on the splash lift hill at the top for about 15 minutes. Then we dropped but got stuck at the end of the zippety doo dah scene and had to evacuate. Pretty eerie stepping over the water trough
God, I can't even imagine having to step over the water! I almost drowned when I was in preschool, so I'm still really scared of deep water. I wouldn't wanna fall into those troughs, at least not based on the picture I saw of the boat at WDW that sank! No thank you!
@@NumeroLetter I was definitely sketchy but they offered to hold on to us as we stepped over. I wasn’t too far but we had to walk down a narrow pathway along the trough which was scary

I respectfully disagree with that. Disneyland and Disney World are very expensive to get into as is right now and the lines are getting very long for rides. When people are paying a large amount of money to get in and wait along time to get on the ride, a lot of them would prefer the highest quality experience possible. And that high quality experience comes from being immersed into the ride itself. Lights turning on, or animatronics malfunctioning or whatever takes away from said immersion. It's kind of a novelty seeing ride breakdowns in UA-cam videos, but would I want to see that in person? Not really. I don't think I'd like that very much. Also, you need to consider that some people may be on the ride for the first time in their lives when it malfunctions. I doubt those people would consider that art if they aren't familiar with it in the same way a fan would. For example, with my first experience in Splash Mountain at Disney World, the sound was completely turned off in the first half of the indoor section. I had no idea what was going and felt confused so I couldn't appreciate the experience until years later when I rode it again as well as watched some UA-cam videos filmed on the ride. Of course it's not always possible for a ride to remain in perfect shape 24/7, but I completely understand why someone would get upset at a ride malfunction.
@@octupusman1000 Yes, of course I agree and understand, especially with the price and traveling going into Disney trips. Space Mountain had the lights turn on and had us climb down a ladder to get to the floor then walk through to the emergency doors on the ground level. Haunted Mansion had us walked back through the first half of the attraction completely alongside the doombuggies that had yet to be evacuated. We were the first room sent through the front half as everyone from the ballroom and later exited through the second half of the ride. There were no exits until you returned to the loading room.

I've been visiting Disney theme parks since 1972 and I've lost track of the number of times I've experienced a ride breakdown while on the ride. I've also witnessed other people getting stuck on rides and requiring rescue. Disney rides are usually very reliable--but over a half of a century and several hundred days in Anaheim, Orlando, Tokyo and Paris (missed the China parks) memory isn't perfect. Most of the time, the breakdown is just momentary, and no evacuation is required. My last two park visits were in December 2021 and July 2010, and I don't recall being on a ride while it was malfunctioning during either trip.
@@RandomDragonEXE It is cool indeed, watching that evolution. To butcher a phrase--"you can't experience the same Disneyland twice--because you're not the same person and it's not the same Disneyland."

The Victoria person was really lucky to ride DINOSAUR with the lights on! It’s super interesting to see that the Carnotauras just walks up at your vehicle! I thought he was just standing there but I didn’t know he walked up. Also the end too was pretty cool to see that he’s connected to like a cable or something and that’s how his head gets close to your ride
The worst breakdown possible has to be at the top of splash mountain, the part where the ceiling drips right before you drop. Imagine sitting there at the top, anticipating a fall, and the dripping getting you soaking wet from the ceiling of all places
I was terrified that would happen to me. Especially since it was my first time riding and I didn't feel safe sitting in the back without a seatbelt or any thing to secure me in place(I almost flew out of the Jurrasic Park ride and despite people saying it wouldn't happen on Splash Mountain it almost did to me) as well as the cast members warning us about a possible break down since the ride was not coroporating that day.
We experienced a temporary breakdown in Remy's Ratatouille Adventure in Disneyland Paris in December 2019. Our vehicle came to a stop at the kitchen scene and we spent about five minutes watching a rat try to pop the cork on a bottle of champagne! The ride got moving again without too much of a delay - it seemed as though they looped a portion of the ride footage to hide the fact that we were stationary for longer than normal. Not seamless, but it was a pretty good B mode! We also had delays every time we went on Phantom Manor. Sadly no in-show exit, however, the announcement was voiced by the late and legendary Vincent Price!
The continuous ride vehicle loops, like Phantom Manor, usually stop pretty frequently to help people get off. That’s why you get stuck so often on those
I was on the Disneyland carousel of progress in the 1960s when it got stuck. We had to sit through several of the same 'episodes'. When it finally resumed, the next scene ended with the guy (John?) saying something like, "Let's all sing the song together. You ought to know it by now." The entire room burst into laughter.
One of my favorite parts of these videos are when the people say they want to send the video to TPM. That being one of the first thoughts that comes to mind is great
Last month (Dec 2021), Expedition Everest stalled for about a minute on the second lift hill just before we went into the shrine scene. It was dark and a little eerie because of the shrine sounds. The ride continues as normal, then we stall AGAIN right after the helix and before we drop in the cave for about 30 seconds. We finally move and Disco Yeti is shut off (so no strobe effect, just pure darkness) aside from audio which kinda made it more terrifying, but it was really cool.
I remember getting stuck on Roger Rabbits cartoon spin. The ride attendant said it broke down a lot, and I was excited because it was my first in show exit!
Oh my gosh!! Thank you so much for using my video! I was the second Alyssa from Remy’s! That was my first ever in-show exit and I just knew I had to record it and send it to you
I was next in line when there was a breakdown on indiana jones on my most recent trip. it's safe to say that being in line knowing the work lights were on just inside was the most agonizing experience of my life. however, once we got in, we got to see what happens when the tunnel mechanism is broken on the ride (spoiler alert: it's not much, they just turn off the spotlight on the boulder and I think they might have changed indy's dialougue- it's hard to say because I hadn't been on the ride in years). the kicker of the whole thing is my friend saw the work lights on in peter pan's flight and nearly did an in-show exit just DAYS before and had very little appreciation for it. maybe next time...
I love this story I get it and a lot goes into indy being down. Now just saying because of the way peter pan works there is no way to do an in-show exit unless your boat stops working and most ofter that is not the case. I don't think I have even seen that in the years I have been to Disneyland but would be cool. they would have to get a ladder to you off
@@samantha1587 yeah, my friend said they came over the speakers and said something about a ladder. it would have been really interesting to see how that type of in-show exit is conducted
My dad and sister were in the line for Peter Pan's Flight at Disneyland when it broke down. They were next in line. This was 3 years ago though, but it was sad because I really wanted to see the work lights on in that ride.
I started watching this channel when I first went to Disney World in 2018 and can I just say that I HAVE NOT STOPPED WATCHING THIS CHANNEL FOR FOUR YEARS OMG NEVER STOP POSTING THESE VIDEOS ❤😀👌
Let’s be real, the thing probably has a TON of gears and such moving the thing around, and with that many moving parts, it would be bound to break down a few times.
I was once stuck on pirates at the Magic Kingdom for over 30 min in 2020. We have all the words memorized for the auction scene. The voices would be turned off but the gunshots were not. It was so much fun!
TpmVids is probably the best Top 10 channel ever, he doesn’t waste time, his voice doesn’t sound like he’s acting, and he doesn’t say things over and over again!
On Rise of the Resistance, I got stuck on the part where the escape pod drops from the ship for 5 minutes before I had my first in-show exit. Glad no one in the car had claustrophobia, the Cast Members had to open the elevator doors first.
Way back when in 2011, I broke down on the Winnie the Pooh ride in Disneyland. The work lights came on and I got to walk through the rest of the ride. Sadly I don't remember much, but I still hold that memory as my in-show exit story.
hey me too! same ride, probably around the same year, maybe 2010 or 2009. that’s my only in-show exit and i was so young that i don’t remember all of it, but i do remember thinking it was cool to walk through the set!
12:55 reminds me of my first experience with the lights on! I almost recorded it but at the second drop the lights turned on and everything the silent. This was also the time one of the geese were missing from the boat that had gotten tipped over. It’s so haunting!
I love that everyone is delighted when the ride malfunctions. It’s so different from what I’d expect. People being grumpy that the ride broke. These lovely people make even a bad situation exciting and fun. Love this!!!
Just getting to see the bits of what you shared I almost wish that dinosaur wasn’t so dark and they should just fluff it with more foliage so that I could be better lit in there
@@steveb2116 Also, I realized how jostle-y it wasn’t. The darkness adds a level that messes with your brain for how much it jostles you. It’s still significant but not as much as you think. Pretty cool.
Every time I go to Disney World, I silently plead for an in-show exit. So far I haven’t had any luck, but I go up to four times a year at most sometimes (I’m an Annual Passholder and though I don’t live in Florida, I’m not SUPER far), so I’m confident that it will happen eventually! TPM you are my idol and I truly love your content!!! Please continue doing everything you do because it is amazing!
A few years ago we got stuck on Pirates at Disney world. It was a dark part right before the drop. My kids got to take a nap for almost an hour. Then a cast member in full pirate mode threw a rope to our boat, pulled us to the side and we got to go out a side exit. Kids got a nap, we got air conditioning for an hour, and free fast passes for everybody.
I did get to break down once actually. It was on Splash Mountain and it was really cool! We got to get really close to the animatronics but unfortunately didn’t get to touch them. I remember we broke down at the drop right before you get to the laughing place.
Omg! I’m Sophia in the video! Ive been a fan for like 3 years and I sent the video in November just for fun but seeing it here is so amazing! Thank you TPM vids!!
honestly, before this channel Disney rides never impressed me as much as they do now, its awesome have a channel can be fun, family friendly, and be educational at the same time! as they once labeled club Disney, edutainment!
I've actually experienced something similar to the truck breaking down part at 10:27, but at Six Flags Great Adventure's Wild Safari tour (pre-COVID). Something happened with our group's truck as we were moving on to another section of the Safari, so we had to physically move on to another truck via a small bridge in-between them with a new driver.
I had a similar experience to the situation at 13:30 on Splash Mountain. All of the animatronics were frozen, none of the music was playing, and the work lights were on. We rode through the whole ride and for some reason Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Da was still playing at the end even though none of the animatronics were moving. Plus, it was just the instrumental with no vocals. When we got off they said the ride was in a "state of emergency" or something like that and we had to leave quickly. I'll never forget that experience...
We went to Disneyland in August and broke down on the Indiana Jones ride. We stopped right after the open scene with the snake and stuff and were there for five minutes before the lights turned on. Once the lights turned on, we started going again and stopped at the spear scene. We waited for thirty minutes for someone to get to us while our seatbelts were getting tighter and tighter. After they told us to wait, we waited another 10 minutes to get off of the car. I tried to film to send it to you guys but they were yelling at us to put our phones away and to stay in a single file line even if we stepped a foot out of line. We just went again to Disneyland a few weeks ago and the ride malfunctioned but didn’t break down. All in all we still have fun at Disneyland but that’s my story of Indiana Jones.
I went on Test Track at Epcot a couple of weeks ago and just as we were about to blast off, the ride stopped and the cast members turned on the lights and turned off the audio. Unfortunately, I didn’t get off the ride and they fixed it. We even had a reservation at Space 220 and we were so worried we were late for lunch, but thankfully we made it.
12:37 The dinosaur one at the end when the dinosaur did that jump scare scared me too death!😟😣😰 Love ya TPM, I’ve never seen a breakdown before but I hope if I ever go back to Disney (especially during the 50th) I hope I can see one!(and send it to you)
I went on the safari once when I was like 7 around, I don’t remember it fully but I remember a RHINO started chasing the car, it was cool but kinda scary. I remember that moment way to much lol
Hey! I love this series! Love all the hard work you put into your videos and how much fun it is to watch them I got stuck on ratatouie and had to e vac and got to walk off!
For the splash mountain ride, that would be so terrifying. There was this splash mountain creepypasta on UA-cam a few years ago and I could think about was that 😂
One time, when I was about 8 and my sister was about 8 months old, we went to Disneyland for the first time. We had so much fun, and when we went on Haunted Mansion: Nightmare Before Christmas, we were excited. We got in and everything seemed, but then, the ride stopped in the hallway scene, where there's a bone in front of the hallway and Zero is at the other end and barking. My sister had thrown up, making the ride stop. It took forever to get the ride going again, and I was stuck in front of the hallway forever, to the point where I was driven mad by Zero and that scene. But we got moving again, and how was well, except for my sick sister and my sanity.
I’m actually one of the safari drivers in this video! That’s crazy! I had to rewind several times but that’s definitely me talking about the baby giraffe 🦒
I was so excited to see this was the new video! I love the malfunction videos. Everyone wants a perfect ride when they’re on a Disney trip, but I kind of love when things go wrong. It gives you a unique experience that’ll be a lasting memory
It’s actually pretty common to watch the same scene at least once due to guests leaving mid- show (which is not allowed) causing cast members to have to run all the way around the building to make sure it is clear and safe to move and don’t always make it back in time. That is also why some time you might have a rotation that starts a few seconds late
8:01 I WAS ON THIS VID. I WAS STUCK AT THAT EXACT SCENE TWICE- It was hilarious- we all sang and then we start to move just a bit early. Getting to watch the scene reset without moving was really awesome though! Edit: Ok so apparently it was a dif time- But i got stuck at that scene twice but we didn’t evacuate-
Just came back from my Disney World trip from Australia. When we went through the Animal Kingdom safari, we saw all the animals running around. Our driver was also amazed cause he has not seem them do that before either. We also saw a Flamingo having a bit of an adult time with another and everyone found it hilarious.
Just had an in-show exit earlier this week from about the halfway point on the PeopleMover at WDW. It was a little scary because it’s pretty high up and wide open but also fun!
One time my party decided to hop on Splash Mountain during the 3:00 parade since there was no line. Right before going up the hill, we broke down and had to wait about 20 minutes. When we were escorted off, we went outside to the back of the show building and got a look at the parade floats being put in garages! It's still my favorite memory.
After that Splash Mountain incident, I looked back at the people behind me and said "you know I was gonna ride Haunted Mansion after this... not so sure anymore" 😂
I once broke down on Mr Toad in Disneyland. It was in a room with a fountain. While I was sitting there I kept on hearing a voice that sounded like Winnie the Pooh saying "I'm not sure where I am either". I've been told that audio has nothing to do with the scene and that it was actually the Cheshire Cat from the Alice ride that runs above Mr. Toad.
Every time i've gone to wdw Splash mountain was either closed due to an emergency or we got stuck on it near the end. The breakdown I remember most vividly was on the bottom of the lift right before the big drop. We were stuck under the two vultures for about 15 minutes. Lights were on but they were repeating the same lines over and over again, almost went crazy 😂
The only time I've had an in-show exit was probably about seven or so years ago now (whenever they changed the custodian CMs' costumes to be plain white), on Splash Mountain. It was just before the first outside drop, at Brer Bear's house, I think. the car before us had gotten stuck for a while before finally going down the drop, but we never moved after out boat got dragged up into the ready position for the drop so the CMs had to come rescue us and the two cars stuck behind us. We got to see behind the facades, but didn't get to walk through any of the sets or anything because the door was so close to us. Ended up coming out of a cast door right outside the gift shop!
I was recently at Disneyland on Rise of the Resistance and the first kylo ren animatronic on the bridge was turned around backwards and not working. It was my first time on the ride so I wasn’t filming. Just kinda funny to see it and then think of all the TPM videos I’ve watched. Everything worked great and I had a fantastic time.

I remember getting stuck on Roger Rabbits cartoon spin. The ride attendant said it broke down a lot, and I was excited because it was my first in show exit!
@Jellyfnaf And Dino California
Oh my gosh!! Thank you so much for using my video! I was the second Alyssa from Remy’s! That was my first ever in-show exit and I just knew I had to record it and send it to you
Thank YOU Alyssa for sending in that clip and sharing your experience!!
The way the YOU sounding aggressive in that sentence made me I little scared
Melfunctions and Breakdowns are my favourite kind of video to have mid day or in the morning
I started watching this channel when I first went to Disney World in 2018 and can I just say that I HAVE NOT STOPPED WATCHING THIS CHANNEL FOR FOUR YEARS OMG NEVER STOP POSTING THESE VIDEOS ❤😀👌
Who else loves when TPM uploads these type of videos?!
8:25 I believe there’s some mechanical problems with the set that’s preventing it from moving to the next scene of the set
Let’s be real, the thing probably has a TON of gears and such moving the thing around, and with that many moving parts, it would be bound to break down a few times.
@@BuzzsawBoss really boss
It's a safety feature. Some jackass probably left the theatre during the scene.
@@MCOlangotang really? How do you know that it is a safety feature? I never knew of any safety features
@@BuzzsawBoss it happened when I was there in December and a cast member told us over the intercom not to get up during the show.
Thanks for bringing us so much joy TPMvids.
You’re so welcome!!
Admit it everyone, you want to go on a Disney trip with TPM 😂
Sadly I don't remember much, but I still hold that memory as my in-show exit story.
hey me too! same ride, probably around the same year, maybe 2010 or 2009. that’s my only in-show exit and i was so young that i don’t remember all of it, but i do remember thinking it was cool to walk through the set!
would be funny if it broke down on the Heffalumps and Woozles scene
@@V00doo1Xim No, that would have been a nightmare lol.
Riding Dinosaur like that was a dream come true! It felt so surreal! Thank you for sharing my experience!
I always love when you upload these animatronic malfunction videos! There always great!
Thank YOU for the submission!!😁
No thank you for making videos that make me smile!
8:30 very nice singing 👏👏👏👏👏
honestly, before this channel Disney rides never impressed me as much as they do now, its awesome have a channel can be fun, family friendly, and be educational at the same time! as they once labeled club Disney, edutainment!
Yay!! I love ride breakdown videos!!
The level of my desire to be on a Disney ride when it breaks down is ridiculous
I went on Test Track at Epcot a couple of weeks ago and just as we were about to blast off, the ride stopped and the cast members turned on the lights and turned off the audio. Unfortunately, I didn’t get off the ride and they fixed it. We even had a reservation at Space 220 and we were so worried we were late for lunch, but thankfully we made it.
Been there
Omg, I broke down right at the same spot you did on Roger Rabbit! I have a whole video on my channel also!
12:37 The dinosaur one at the end when the dinosaur did that jump scare scared me too death!😟😣😰
Love ya TPM, I’ve never seen a breakdown before but I hope if I ever go back to Disney (especially during the 50th) I hope I can see one!(and send it to you)
It always makes my day to see these videos get upload!
And here comes TPM again with the magnificent singing voice! I wish I could sing like to that.
For the splash mountain ride, that would be so terrifying. There was this splash mountain creepypasta on UA-cam a few years ago and I could think about was that 😂
What was it?
The Christmas version of haunted mansion, on has got to be my favorite malfunction, tied with dabbing carousel of progress and beheaded Ursula
I really hope you upload the full video of Dinosaur
I also really wish Dinosaur would have more lighting. This is so good!
You know when Tpm vids uploads it’s gonna be a great day
100% true
I love how happy and positive everyone was.😍
I really wanna go to Disney to see all the amazing rides one day 🥲
I have been here ever sense 2017 I love your videos and it’s great to see how you’ve grown :)
I’m actually one of the safari drivers in this video! That’s crazy! I had to rewind several times but that’s definitely me talking about the baby giraffe 🦒
Omg no way!! That clip was from a few years back too
@@TPMvids I’ve been there a while 😂😅
"please stand clear of all animatronic figures" that's so creepy omg i love it 😭
I was so excited to see this was the new video! I love the malfunction videos. Everyone wants a perfect ride when they’re on a Disney trip, but I kind of love when things go wrong. It gives you a unique experience that’ll be a lasting memory
The only place on Earth where guests are happy when something breaks down. Disney Fans are truly one of a kind!
I was just watching a different Tpm malfunctions video when I got this notification 😹
Well that’s what I call perfect timing!
Lol
I LOVE seeing ride breakdowns and secrets.
The carousel of progress one happened with me to and it was crazy bc we watched the same show 4 times lol 😂
It’s actually pretty common to watch the same scene at least once due to guests leaving mid- show (which is not allowed) causing cast members to have to run all the way around the building to make sure it is clear and safe to move and don’t always make it back in time. That is also why some time you might have a rotation that starts a few seconds late
@@thethemeparkproblem77 that’s really interesting
8:01
I WAS ON THIS VID.
I WAS STUCK AT THAT EXACT SCENE TWICE-
It was hilarious- we all sang and then we start to move just a bit early.
Getting to watch the scene reset without moving was really awesome though!
Edit:
Ok so apparently it was a dif time-
But i got stuck at that scene twice but we didn’t evacuate-
I love your content! Would it be possible if u could make a video about Disneyland Paris or Twilight tower of terror? ✨Hot diggidy Dog!
Just came back from my Disney World trip from Australia. When we went through the Animal Kingdom safari, we saw all the animals running around. Our driver was also amazed cause he has not seem them do that before either.
We also saw a Flamingo having a bit of an adult time with another and everyone found it hilarious.
9:25 this ride is no longer here at Disney world as of today
THESE MALFUNCTIONS VIDEOS ARE MY FAVORITE OUT OF ALL THE VIDEOS YOU MAKE
I love this kind of videos
Just had an in-show exit earlier this week from about the halfway point on the PeopleMover at WDW. It was a little scary because it’s pretty high up and wide open but also fun!
I got on a ride at Universal studios and it got broken down
One time my party decided to hop on Splash Mountain during the 3:00 parade since there was no line. Right before going up the hill, we broke down and had to wait about 20 minutes. When we were escorted off, we went outside to the back of the show building and got a look at the parade floats being put in garages! It's still my favorite memory.
So THAT’S what they do with the parade floats!! I’ve gone to Disney World so many times and never knew. So lucky that you got to see that!
Ladies and gentlemen, the video we have all been waiting for❤️
Enjoy!!
Hello pippa peg
OMG TPM NOTICED ME!!!!!!!!😱😱😱
They should definitely give Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin a makeover to make it themed to the upcoming Lightyear movie.
After that Splash Mountain incident, I looked back at the people behind me and said "you know I was gonna ride Haunted Mansion after this... not so sure anymore" 😂
I love when u post bc it gives me some tips bc we are going to Disney this weekend
I am SOOO happy. I found your channel today after 4 YEARS (I first watched you in 2018)
I personally like connecting 13:52 to FNaF. It just fits so perfectly lmao
I will never forget the time I went to Disney in 2012 and on the Kilimanjaro Safari we got stuck in mud and another truck had to come pull us out. 😆
11:38 that dino is on something bro
Hey! That’s funny, I was on COP while it was malfunctioning! We had to watch 3 different acts twice, but no in-show exit.
6:44 I, Lucky Cha-
The only time I was on a broken down ride was on the little mermaid ride when it was Ursulas part and she froze and we went threw an in show exit
4:12 luckily on this occasion not one of them boats have sunken
8:35 Sad Boy
I was recently at Disneyland on Rise of the Resistance and the first kylo ren animatronic on the bridge was turned around backwards and not working. It was my first time on the ride so I wasn’t filming. Just kinda funny to see it and then think of all the TPM videos I’ve watched. Everything worked great and I had a fantastic time.
Yo who likes rollercosters? (Like if you do)
Me me me!!
