Jojogrrness and yet a game (When the expansion comes out) That has 300+ hours available to be put into it is only $15.00 US, You know the game I speak of?
Wait, going to 24 fps is ONLY an option?! B-but the filmic experience! Everyone should watch-- I mean, play the game in glorious silky smooth 24 frames per second to get the full artistic vision of the developers!!
Gilian Rüsterholz false, we can see up to 30 frames, however we can notice on some level all the way up to 60, thus why 60 fps is the desired for any game trying to look nice.
Zolen Delocus Not even close, we dont see in FPS but fighter pilots could identify pictures of planes flashed for only 1/255th of a second. There are diminishing returns but the higher frame-rate the better
Flakjacket96 Jesus Christ i loved that game i would put in the cheat codes to unlock all the characters because i was too lazy/young to be bothered to beat the campain.
Watching this, I just remembered a game waaaay from my childhood called War of the Monsters which I absolutely adored. I have no idea if it still holds up but looking at images of it now, I still remember the cut scenes that actually showed how these monsters were created and the huge (Might not be huge anymore now that I'm older) city maps the monster you picked and the enemy monsters fought in. I'd love to see Nerd play it since he did Spiderman 2. Since looking at the description right now, he knows what it is.
Abdullah Al-maiyah I think he just meant that the game has lot's of clipping while you fight. Which is true, your sword just goes through people. Also Dan is biased as fuck, he's siad he hates RPG's.
Holy cow I remember playing those two open world DS Transformers games he mentioned and having like the best time ever. Those were actually pretty fun, not to mention the fact that they were hilariously buggy. I spent most of my time in those games just trying to glitch the game. Cutscenes could be messed up if you were in the wrong place, you could fly over invisible walls as a jet, and sometimes you could go through the floor and get catapulted across the map... Ah man nostalgia...
The whole plot around Godzilla is that he keeps control over the balances of nature and artificial/human influences in the world, if one attempts to trample the other, Godzilla comes to even the odds
It's weird because I watched the Best Friends play this and it looked absolutely hyped. I guess I'm just used to games that play like this sometimes. You know what they should do? They should make a monster game where you play as the humans trying to take down the giant monsters. Not sure how that would work and fairly sure it would fail absurdly hard but how awesome would it be to run through a building then see Godzilla tear most of the building apart trying to kill you.
Same here. On one hand they are totally into Godzilla, on the other they still manage to stay critical towards bad games, so no idea what to believe now ^^
My ideal "Godzilla" game would be you are a person who have to escape through an open world city while the Kaijus are destroying the city. But the entire city will be open with all the buildings enterable and the destruction engine is the kind where if Godzilla topples a building in your path, you have to find another way and you cannot climb the rubble because you are just an ordinary person. All of this with like a thousand NPCs running around and things on fire.
LetumComplexo That doesn't mean it is acceptable for gaming. Not for $60 USD and especially not for a PS4 game. This is a FIGHTING game, relying on quick reaction times, which is hard to do if your game is running on a bullshit frame-rate.
Razza Clarke Well with the Kaiju it is sort of a fighting game. Although the Kaiju fights seem to be massively unbalanced. It doesn't help that the controls seem laggy anyway.
GOJIFAN TOKUSATSU GAMING The controls were fine once you get used to them, and the changes from the films were designed to make the gameplay more enjoyable. Some things that work well in movies don’t necessarily work well in games, so changes are always needed when adapting something from one to the other. A good game cares more about evoking the spirit and experience than necessarily surface details, because replicating the joy of a giant kaiju trashing a city and fighting monsters is better than replicating every little detail, even if it comes at the detriment of the actual gameplay. That’s Godzilla PS4’s biggest mistake. As a Godzilla fan, I appreciate all the little details for everything, but it wasn’t a fun game in a lot of ways due to adhering so closely to how it was in the movies.
I remember there was a Godzilla game for the wii that I had that was phenomenal... You could run around cities that were decent-sized and pick up buildings and throw them at other monsters. It's hilarious that it was better than this
you can dim the light on the controller that makes is practically invisible unless you are looking directly at the controller. and it saves a lot of battery power.
I've had that game for years! Absolutely loved it! I liked the level where u throw something at the UFO and it creates a tsunami. Could you imagine what a remarstered version of that would look like! Shame it's only for ps2
I do like how this game captures the cinematic feeling of the fights and really gives the monsters a sense of scale and weight also the monsters themselves look great as well the models are very detailed and accurate to the movies. So it's nice to see they took the time to try and make a good game there's a good bit of effort put into this but they really should try again with a bigger budget.
I wonder what Dan thinks of J-Stars Victory VS (Super Smash Anime not by Nintendo and for all current Sony consoles for people who don't understand what I'm talking about)
Cameron Green n Victory Vs. is far more like Gundam Vs. / Heavy Metal Geomatrix / DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi / Rise of Incarnates than Super Smash (The only similarities I could think of between the two is basic shit) , that would be the Jump DS games.
Cameron Green All I know is that game taunts me. It included Allen Walker from D. Gray Man (a series that is all but cancelled due to the mangaka's constant illness), but not as a playable character. If he was playable I'd buy the game in a heart beat.
But no goddamn Kinnikuman, at least there's Kenshiro, Raoh, Seiya, Momotaro, Jonathan & Joseph, Ryotsu Kankichi and Arale (I'm a primarily old school anime fan, hence my avatar and profile pic). His absence aside from the fact it's console exclusive discourages me from bothering with the game (The newer characters sure don't help, but at least they don't saturate the entire roster).
i think i may know which transformers game he's talking about. The two versions were one let you play as decepticons, the other as autobots, but going through the same "plotline" (i put it in quotes because it wasnt much of a plot)
It was originally a PS3 game, the only difrance between PS4's version is being able to play as other monsters and extra monsters, the graphics and gameplay are the exact same
the light on the controller was originally for the required camera that was going to come with every ps4, but since people bitched about kinect 2.0 they got rid of it and you are stuck with a power draining controller.
Hey Dan, have you played Peter Jackson's King Kong: the official game of the movie. Sounds awful as most games of movies are but its really good and you'll probably love it. There's several sequences where you're facing a T-Rex and you're just a man so you can do nothing but run and hide. You keep mentioning you'd like a Godzilla game where you can't kill the enemy, this is as close as I've got. And there's also missions where you play as Kong fighting stuff which is like this game but a million times better with proper collisions and awesome moves. You might as well check it out if you haven't already. Its old and doesn't look amazing but its such a good game.
Due to this game I remembered Armored Core exists, discovered two entries have been released since I last played, and now have something new to play come Monday. Thanks Godzilla.
I actually like this game. The replay-ability is the best part. You might think it's boring but considering that every path has different levels, different Kaiju's to fight, and different levels of difficulty to unlock different things, every playthrough is new. It takes A LOOOOOONG ASS TIME to actually unlock everything and beat every path the game has.
Cazaam the Angry Aspie I enjoyed Shadow the Hedgehog's replay-ability. I didn't enjoy the gameplay but I liked that it had different paths and levels etc.
This just makes me want to play that old Godzilla game on ps2. That game was fun, I really like that beetle thing with drill hands, it could go underground for a while and it was so useful
Jormungand He said in the beginning it's only in hell because of it's price. If it were cheaper he'd be able to enjoy it. As is that massive price tag haunts him.
Jormungand It not actually that bad. Plays just like the movies and clearly has a lot of homage in it. Lack of mission variety and the price are the only real problems. Should have released at $30.
Being a big fan of TBFP, who already played this game and talked about how they loved it, I find it funny how most of their fanbase (including me) wanted to see them play more of the game while most of this fanbase said it looked boring and shit. I guess it goes to show that a game is what you make of it.
I really enjoyed playing this. (Yes, It's a wee bit extortionate) There was so much passion put into it. The Licence holders are too blame for either the price or shipping it too early. But, it may be we haven't had a proper Godzilla game since Unleashed on the Wii. (The PS2 version is sliced into ribbons)
Rin Hato Yet again, it may be because I have an affinity for PS2 era licensed games. Ultimate Spider-man, Spongebob Creature from the krusty krab, Godzilla unleashed (still, the wii version mind), and do I even need to talk about the DBZ games? It kinda feels like something from yesteryear, and the price is the big problem, I understand. But, for something that brought me back to more simpler times, when Sonic wasn't clinging to life, super-heroes didn't have to be grim-dark, and I thought I'd never be into dumb rainbow horses, I think I got my money's worth.
Again, for as much as people shit on the game, I would honestly still buy it. Maybe not at $60, but as big of a Godzilla fan I am, this game looks decent. I've played Unleashed on the Wii and that was pretty fun. But, for the critical ones out there, perhaps the failure of this one will encourage them to listen and pack more content in ANOTHER game. I think it's just the price point that pisses off people the most. This should have been a $20-$30 release.
David Ralphsky I disagree, but I don't want to argue about it. Like I said, I can understand the complaints, but if it was just about walking around destroying cities with no monster fights, it'd be TOO boring. I'd have it set to cities all around the world with different threats, the like Super X 1-3, Gotengo, MOGUERA, and Mechagodzilla while also having rogue kaiju boss fights culminating up to big bads like King Gihdorah and Destoroyah.
I don't see a problem with the left stick being forward/back/strafing and the triggers being turning. You're a big huge monster, of course you're gonna have tanky controls. And "oh my god, a texture is slightly bad on that thing I'm going to look at for two seconds as I destroy it" :/ For. Fucks. Sake. I don't think that matters when you're literally going to just destroy it and not give it a second thought.
I'm commenting 2 years late but, it's still a PS4 game. When the game loaded up i was literally just in shock of how bad it looked. I have games on the xbox 360 that look soooo much better than this. Graphics is bad, and graphics aren't everything but gameplay seems quite boring.
Darugo Sueño I know I’m commenting really late but, really? This game is unfinished yet they charge money for it. And being a giant monster isn’t an excuse for bad controls.
I remember a Godzilla game on the PS2 that I played quite a bit. I never got very far and I cant remember if it was any good but I do remember it looked exactly like this. And the whole thing was just monster on monster.
Omg! It's 6am and I SERIOUSLY may have woken my neighbours up laughing. Have you considered a job in sales? "Buy Godzilla... It's terrible but it will cost all your money. 10/10"
Sit in place for 2 hours and they'll finally kill you, it bugs the game and completes the "campaign", unlocking everything on the tech branch and all the monsters.
Thanks NerdCubed! I forgot to watch the movie so because of your video I ordered it on DVD and blu-ray. Can't wait to see it! Oh and please for the love of all things considerate people don't post spoilers.
There's a game being released where you have to escape a city with a bunch of giant monsters and robots crashing around, including Godzilla (I believe) and Ultraman (I think that was his name). The only problem...it's exclusive to Japan...as of right now
For me the charge hold was just being finicky on the Dualshock. My phone charger kept losing connection, same with my camera and tablet charger. Went out and bought a new one, it works fine now.
I love how people used to talk so much shit about Godzilla: Save the Earth. Now that we have a Godzilla game for the PS3/PS4, and no one like this one either, all of a sudden Godzilla: Save the Earth was the best. Edit: Damn typos
I remember a friend had a Godzilla game that looked just like this on the gamecube. Only it was just the giant monster fights and it was actually fun to play with friends.
I remember a game that looks exactly like this one and plays almost identically as this one does. I played that game on the original Xbox, although I actually enjoyed playing it.
Would love a game where you play as a kaiju or mech you make and evolve or upgrade throughout the game depending on which campaign you chose. This with a cool open world, good destruction physics and good writing i think would be amazing.
Thanks for acknowledging us Australians. I'll continue staying over here... Waiting for that game I payed overpriced shipping for, because it's faster than my wifi...
“Plasticbagmon” is actually Hedorah from “Godzilla vs the Smog Monster.” It’s a giant monster made out of pollution that attacks by spraying/flinging it’s pollution body at people. It also shoots lasers from its eyes. Yeah, that’s a real monster.
Hey Dan! Check out 404Sight or Zerahypt 404Sight is a parkour game with a twist. You can switch between thingys to avoid things that want to mash your face in. Zerahypt is an exploration game, no story, no quest line just run around, climb in vehicles and spaceships and tanks and just explore.
they should make an open world godzilla game where you can play as kaiju and destroy everything with GOOD destruction physics
So a modern version of Muncher (a licensed chewitts game on ZX Spectrum)
Oh yeah why haven't they made that yet ? They could even add a feature where you can create your own Kaiju.
Imagine the engine of Megaton Rainfall but instead of superman you can choose to play as a Kaiju or a Jeager, and it's a fighting game
This needs to happen capcom
Dan should make another OMEGALODON video.
spuddie6 Damn I remember watching that forever ago...
YAS
spuddie6 yeah
I was just this thinking this like omegalodon but worse and this is a proper game not a indie one it makes me want to kill myself
Yas
Remember when Dan's said he wanted a Godzilla type game, where you have to run and hide from a huge monster?
Yeah?
Well this sure aint it.
joe hiscock I was here a lot longer than you thought I was.... lol
***** I have a substitute, run and hide from this game.
SamPhoenix 10/10 IGN

***** like skyrim but with monsters!
13:21 "We have visual on Godzilla, he appears to be...dancing?"
I would love to force Totalbiscuit to play this at the 24fps setting, just to see him cry
***** He tried it and said it was horrible.
I love Totalbiscuit but Jesus he needs to stop saying that 30fps is 'unplayable'
Shut up we console players have had to deal with it for decades
gajbooks What a ungrateful bitch.
jonn smith If you like that, you'll know that his "FPS Police" crybaby steam curator's getting blocked by developers.
jonn smith Buy a PC then.
How completely and utterly boring… It's disgusting it's actually being sold at that price.
Jojogrrness and yet a game (When the expansion comes out) That has 300+ hours available to be put into it is only $15.00 US, You know the game I speak of?
Daniel Giovanniello Nope.
Daniel Giovanniello i would like to know :D
Felix B. Binding of Isaac: Rebirth
Daniel Giovanniello What game?

24 frames per second is as much as we, humans can see...
Gilian Rüsterholz false, we can see up to 30 frames, however we can notice on some level all the way up to 60, thus why 60 fps is the desired for any game trying to look nice.
And it's false, we can see more the 144 atleast as I can notice the difference in my monster from 30-144
Zolen Delocus Not even close, we dont see in FPS but fighter pilots could identify pictures of planes flashed for only 1/255th of a second. There are diminishing returns but the higher frame-rate the better
Gilian Rüsterholz please tell me you are trolling
Anyone remember that old PS2 game where you do fight other monsters,it was really good and I think Dan would like it.
Godzilla: save the earth
No it wasnt a Godzilla I think it was called War of the Monsters.
Flakjacket96 Jesus Christ i loved that game i would put in the cheat codes to unlock all the characters because i was too lazy/young to be bothered to beat the campain.
Flakjacket96 Fuck you
nikita boryanov Thats a bit uncalled for.
1:10 anyone else think godzilla kinda looks like he was modelled using the Spore creature creator?
Anyone remember Godzilla: Save the Earth? AMAZING GAME!
ThatGuyNamedElliot I've put.. HOURS into the multiplayer in that game. xD
***** It is a fucking amazing game! Wish it could be ported to other consoles or PC
ThatGuyNamedElliot Truly a gem.
You sir... Have just brought back many happy memories... I wish they would do a HD remake of that for next gen.
Was that the amazing PS2 game that has graphics identical to this and was a perfect monster fighting monster game?
this game screams cheat codes... to bad those no longer exist
halohalo768 This games a PS4 exclusive.
Inexplicable Enigmas I don't think that is something to be proud of. :P
SkyDream89 ' I'm a Xbox player XD. I have a PS4, But I only use it for exclusives.
Inexplicable Enigmas thats odd..
Wabouw Bouw what? if i had money i would have a xbox 360 (or 1, if i could) for exclusives.

He also liked the Witcher. But it's true Skyrim combat is shit just swing and block. Or hit the target from afar.
I wouldn't really know, i use combat mods most of the time.
Hedorah: The giant monster litterally made of shit and pollution
DON'T CARE, JUST CAUSE 3 IS HERE SOON
When is it released?
Swagmaster69 1st December.
Lol XD
Helloiamanoob or according to steam 4 months, 2 weeks, 3 days and 12 hours which is not soon
Yeah, it's 1st December.

i thought the same thing. the moving mechanics... just awful.
moving mechanics are bad. but you get used to em after you finish the story mode. WHICH DOSNT TAKE AN HOUR!!!
perhaps its because thats a picture ps3 version and/or its shit quality. stupid brony, go watch some mlp hentai
MrParanormalPro No the game was just built like shit hue, someone's feeling insecuuuuure.

Godzilla unleashes was amazing
Any body remember the GameCube Godzilla game, where you fought other monsters? Loved that game to bits.
Yup, it had a sequel too. Lots and lots of vs mode with my little brother
The 24 fps speed is supposed to be reminiscent of old movies, which play in 24 fps.
LetumComplexo That doesn't mean it is acceptable for gaming. Not for $60 USD and especially not for a PS4 game. This is a FIGHTING game, relying on quick reaction times, which is hard to do if your game is running on a bullshit frame-rate.

So this game costs £40... What else could I have got instead of this game?
Alot of food & less dissapointment
ShopSongs A Netflix, Hulu, Apple music, and Google Music All Access subscription, and maybe a cheap handjob.
ShopSongs A really nice sandwich.
A dakimakura
ShopSongs you could buy a car for £40 and you'd still be less disappointed by the quality

I used to love the Transformers games for the DS.
Philbob Yolo *game The sequels were fucking terrible.
Agree
I played a german version of the game i could only understand that spielstarten meant start game or something
CoryCorp Why did you played a german version??
CoryCorp Where on earth did you get a German version?

When is the next Cities: Skylines episode coming out?
***** probably when his computer works again.
doggie101171 What happened to it?
It died
His computers water cooler thing ( the one that kept it from overheating ) busted and killed it
Again?
This game plays so incredibly much like an old Gundam Wing PS2/Dreamcast game. Its strange.
You should play War of the Monsters on PS2, awesome game!

This is the best game ever made. The sequel will come!!
Godzilla Fan I even want Godzilla Junior (from Godzilla vs. Destoroyah) in the sequel.
Godzilla Fan Calm yourself down. I got everything under control.
Godzilla Fan 3rd favorite (tied with Mothra)
Godzilla Fan Yep.
Godzilla Fan No thanks. I got this on my own.

I liked it as well, although I do agree with what dan said about the crazy high price.
Though that scene where Jet Jaguar walking in on Godgy cheating on him was pretty great
Jormungand He said in the beginning it's only in hell because of it's price. If it were cheaper he'd be able to enjoy it. As is that massive price tag haunts him.
Jormungand It not actually that bad. Plays just like the movies and clearly has a lot of homage in it. Lack of mission variety and the price are the only real problems. Should have released at $30.
Jormungand Because they're Godzilla fans, which is what this game was made for.
Being a big fan of TBFP, who already played this game and talked about how they loved it, I find it funny how most of their fanbase (including me) wanted to see them play more of the game while most of this fanbase said it looked boring and shit. I guess it goes to show that a game is what you make of it.
Dan's description just reminded me of one of my favourite PS2 games I had forgotten the name of, thanks Dan!
Except if it were a PS2 game, it would be good
PS2 has Snake Eater so I'm sorry but this is not good
Godzilla Save the Earth is a PS2 game and kicks the shit out of this.
Godzilla is just an angry crocodile warming his arse.
The OLD Godzilla games are actually better than this.
How did they even manage to make this so bad?
I really enjoyed playing this. (Yes, It's a wee bit extortionate) There was so much passion put into it. The Licence holders are too blame for either the price or shipping it too early. But, it may be we haven't had a proper Godzilla game since Unleashed on the Wii. (The PS2 version is sliced into ribbons)
paul duncan I'm sorry but this is just terrible.
BRONY
It got a review of 3/10
Ben O'Sullivan From the Ignorant Gaming Neanderthals.
I would have bought it if it had local vs mode
But since it does not I will wait for a price drop.
Luke ofSparta Fair enough, man. I just feel like this could have that simple fun I'm looking for.
***** I'd buy it if it were about just walking around destroying a city, like that Hulk PS2 game, but it's not. It's shit.
***** Yeah that's what I meant.
30:20 i have that exact transformer DS game your talking about! and it does kinda look like that.
5:24 All the development must have went into the options menu because the gameplay simply isn't polished enough.
It’s 2024 and this game is now worth literally hundreds of dollars. Wild.
Too bad too, the beginning cutscene (in my opinion) looked badass, and the game is just, this.
Thanks NerdCubed! I forgot to watch the movie so because of your video I ordered it on DVD and blu-ray. Can't wait to see it! Oh and please for the love of all things considerate people don't post spoilers.
Godzilla is attacking the generator! The generator is losing power!
This game made me think of Omegalodon and I went and watched your old video. That game was awesome.
This will all be worth it if you can play as Gamera, the flying radioactive space turtle.
You can set the game to 24 fps because that is what the original Godzilla movies were recorded in.
There's a game being released where you have to escape a city with a bunch of giant monsters and robots crashing around, including Godzilla (I believe) and Ultraman (I think that was his name). The only problem...it's exclusive to Japan...as of right now
Dan that armdilo is the 1st ever monster Godzilla ever face off with
6 minutes and 32 seconds until I actually saw nerd3 playing the game
Imagine that this is Godzilla talking in the whole vid XD
“Godzilla is approaching the generator, the generator is losing power”
to be fair the 24 fps thing is kinda cool if you want it to be like an old godzilla film
For me the charge hold was just being finicky on the Dualshock. My phone charger kept losing connection, same with my camera and tablet charger. Went out and bought a new one, it works fine now.
Man! this is my favorite ps2 game yet! can't wait for the ps3!
That G-Force Operator is basically sending soldiers to their death, and she doesn't even care. Now who's the monster here?
Even in a bloody Godzilla game trees are still indestructible.
Run! It's a crappy knock off of a beloved movie monster!
I love how people used to talk so much shit about Godzilla: Save the Earth. Now that we have a Godzilla game for the PS3/PS4, and no one like this one either, all of a sudden Godzilla: Save the Earth was the best.
Edit: Damn typos
I remember the PS2 Godzilla game very fondly. That game was really fun.
I remember a friend had a Godzilla game that looked just like this on the gamecube. Only it was just the giant monster fights and it was actually fun to play with friends.
Godzilla save the earth
+axelx666 he means Destory All Monsters Mele, Save The Earth never came out on the Game Cube
This is the best present I've got on any birthday. Ever.
1:39 wait wait wait... is that a Warner Bros. name I see in the copyright? Yes?
*Well, that explains everything.*
Your channel has gotten so big since the last time I watched UR spore series. I forgot to subscribe to you!
Hope he doesnt skip the cutscenes and rush thru this, no matter how bad it is
The camera thing about the Godzilla data unlocks the endings. yes you read that right. You need to unlock the endings.
36 Minute video on this shit but a 15 minute video on Just Cause Three.... Come on Dan sort it out...
Magnetrick Skeptile i think thats all he can show of the game
He can only show 15 minutes of just cause 3 because it has not been released
It was a rule that he had to do to play the game
andy roberts why did you upload a video longer than 15min? Just cause. His excuse for exceeding the limit is the damn name of the game :/
I remember a game that looks exactly like this one and plays almost identically as this one does. I played that game on the original Xbox, although I actually enjoyed playing it.
You know what was way better than this besides everything else? Godzilla destroy all monsters for the Nintendo GameCube.
Godzilla Destroy All Monsters was the stuff back when the gamecube was alive.
“Plasticbagmon” is actually Hedorah from “Godzilla vs the Smog Monster.”
It’s a giant monster made out of pollution that attacks by spraying/flinging it’s pollution body at people. It also shoots lasers from its eyes.
Yeah, that’s a real monster.
up and triangle works on buildings and enimes but you have to press circle, triangle, squere
Hey Dan!
Check out 404Sight or Zerahypt
404Sight is a parkour game with a twist.
You can switch between thingys to avoid things that want to mash your face in.
Zerahypt is an exploration game, no story, no quest line just run around, climb in vehicles and spaceships and tanks and just explore.
