- We wear so many different hats every day… daughter, friend, colleague, and so much more. With so many roles in life, sometimes it can feel like we're being pulled in a hundred different directions and we start to feel lost. How do we balance it all?
While these roles are important because they give us a sense of purpose and validation, we are not the roles we play. We are in fact, the light that animates every soul in the dance that we call life.
If you can accept who you are and be that very person, without fear of rejection, then you’ll no longer need to play ‘roles’ - they’ll have diminished meaning because you become more ‘you’. It takes courage to step into the fullness of just being you. But when you start to do that, you’ll feel a greater appreciation, not just for yourself, but also for the people around you. And you’ll find more peace in your soul.

I have been struggling with being a "chameleon", changing color wherever I go and whoever I meet. But then I understood that even if it is viewed as something negative or "not being yourself", the ability to show and be in the whole spectrum of colors is a gift. You meet people where they are in the spectrum, you see situations in different views, you experience the surroundings through all colors. What a sweet message to her mother. I kept thinking "Wait until you are much older. The Grandmas and Aunties reach a time when that happens. It is like age gives us an advantage and a permission to just be ourselves. Life gets simpler as we let go of things. And by that age, we have had to let go of a lot." That is what I would tell her. We are so blessed to have mothers who love us unconditionally, Iman. When my mom (88) holds me (63) in her arms, I feel safe and protected and cared for and accepted. She has taught me not to judge, but also to listen to my intuition. The few times that I've ignored my intuition are the ones that caused me immense grief. And even in those times her love has pulled me through. You are a beautiful soul. Your voice brings great comfort. Thank you for another inspiring video!

I am a mother like that, but I never received love from my mother and it’s always caused me immense pain.
Maybe in my next journey around the sun, I get a mother that loves me ❤️
When I heard her speak about her mother at the end, I thought: "That woman has experienced unconditional love !!! 😮". I don´t feel loved by anyone in my family. When I hug them I feel nothing positive at all - it feles quite uncomfortable. Since 44 years. Also I have no friends or partner. So I gave up on human love a few years ago. I would say that the unconditional love of your mother is so very important. SO many of us never had that from either parent and so we had to learn from childhood to find that love whether in ourselves or in moments of beauty or others that actually see the "mosaic" of who we are. You are a beautiful soul. As you get older you will start to integrate all the parts because with age comes freedom. You simply don't care to compartmentalize anymore. You already know who you are. Distill it all and SHINE like a Phoenix!

We are so lucky to have moms that gave us that unconditional love and encouragement . My mom is gone now ,but she always supported me at the cost of her own heartbreak, like when I moved far far from home at a young age . I didn’t really understand the strength it took on her part to be so supportive until I had a child and he moved away . I learned from her to always be encouraging with him and never make him feel guilty or wrong about his decisions . Just like mom did.
Also my mom loved butterflies and nature. There have been days where I am really struggling , it never fails that a gorgeous butterfly will flit across my path ( sometimes almost touching me) I know it’s still moms unwavering love and support!❤️

That was powerful and moving. I'm so impressed at the generation she belongs to, the level of awareness that I wasn't inspired to have. I was raised to be so planned, disciplined, goal oriented. Now, here I am at 59 with no dependents, living comfortably and securely, finally able to decide who I want to be. It really is the same person I was growing up, because it's not about career, it's not about popularity, it's not about productivity. It's about the inner person I am returning to being, that was stuffed down for so many decades to meet the needs and demands put on me by others, to gain approvals, or at least to satisfy their requirements. Those decades left me empty, lost and alone, a shell of a man. Now, I'm free to revive my spirit, and celebrate the human that I was, and still am inside me.
But, it also means mostly new friends, and those are in short supply right now...
Thank you for sharing these words. We hope her story can be of help to find your new way of living, to find yourself again,... It will take a bit of time after being so busy for many years. Its so important for me to hear person similar age as me having the same struggle of not being able to fully integrate different parts of themselves into one person and especially when those parts feel contradictory to each other. I really loved the part where she puts on her crown and her roller skates and she becomes free, really free. I see you, I do.
