I miss this so much. I lived there in the mid 90s. The 15 block walk through The Quarter to work on Canal every day was such a joy. I would leave an hour early every day to enjoy whatever adventures came up along the way and this is an example of one of many.
absolute magic, the dancing, the playing, so good.make's you wanna stomp your feet and get up and dance! To think that new Orleans wants to crack down on street performers, that's an insult to the cities musical history, jazz is america's classical music!
Such HAPPY FUN music! I like the front man, in the green shirt. Natural, cute, silly, visual. THIS kind of music helped me get thru 9/11. I am a professional musician. Helped my audiences, too. We were almost able to "forget"... for a couple of hours. I HAD to play. The SHOW MUST go on. Was heartbroken though. Sting was going to cancel a performance. Not sure if he did or if the SHOW WENT ON! I KNOW we had NO MUSIC in our HEARTS. Very very difficult to do... for those of us who continued ... on...
I'm 17 I'm moving next summer and bringing a 3 piece set of drums to pursue music. Really all I want to do is join as many bands and jam with as many people as possible but nobody is into music where i live. I love all genres too I'm willing to play anything. I'll probably sleep in my car and only live their for the summer unless I do really well as far as music goes then I'll stay. But I'm going for the summer to start off if things are going too good to leave then I'll stay.
I have to get down to NO, but I'll have to have a BIG roll of cash to hand out to all the many incredible musical and dancing talent likely to be met on the street! That and to pay for the medical bills after my head and heart explode from the wonderful sounds!
That's Ewan Bleach from the UK. He visits NOLA on occasion and sits in with several bands. He is always a great asset to any band he plays with on clarinet and tenor sax.
+valentino georgievski - People are WAY too critical on You Tube...I'd like to see those who criticize do half the stuff the folks they criticize do! Geez, everyone lighten up. This band is having such a good time. Why spoil it with hurtful comments?
Your are so right man, this is a great fun band if only we had this stuff in Australia, it would lighten up the joint. Not enough of this music, fun, enjoyable and certainly entertaining. Thank you Guys! Terry Offord. Australia.
If you're in New Orleans make sure you check out Tanya and Dorise. Two street musicians who play on Royal St. Tanya plays violin and Dorise accompanies her on guitar. Best Musicians in the French Quarter,
I would wager that a number of these performers and musicians are actually professionals, lawyers, doctors, contractors, engineers, etc... and just LOVING playing on the street. Really! I would to.
Green Infrastructure Buffalo NY Buffalo NY The clarinetist seated is Ewan Bleach, a Brit who plays with "The Man Overboard quintet". Another brilliant band !!!

This is what life it's about , this little moment right here is what I called happiness !
I agree
How much fun can we all have
There's a lot to love in New Orleans--the food, the people and the architecture and history. But the BEST thing is the MUSIC!
+Suzanne Glad I agree completely. I take a trip to NOLA every time I get a chance. I love all those things but the music is always number 1.
Suzanne Glad I think the same
I can’t agree with you more... the music, culture and the cuisine... love me some gumbo and crawfish!
Mime
Any group that Ewan Bleach plays clarinet or sax in is gonna be GOOD!
now if I were there I would get up and dance with him.....
Good old Nicolas Dubauchet, my biggest inspiration on bass
Watching this in lockdown back home in England, my kitchen is a rocking. Just brilliant. Love it
That was incredible how the guy in green seamlessly jumped from dancing to playing! And the double bass also starting and ending his singing part!
So much talent in one band , and they all appear to be having a whale of a time
