  • Taking advantage of great weather Olympic Flight Museum President and Brian Reynolds and chief mechanic Warren Harris prep the museum’s L39 Albatros fighter jet just before a pre-airshow system’s check flight at the Olympia Regional Airport on June 12, 2024.
A Cold War holdover from the former Soviet Bloc days in the early 1980’s the L-39 was a rugged warbird that gave years of service to the Russian war machine, and could withstand extreme operational demands including treacherous Siberian winters. The 2024 Olympic Airshow will be held on June 15-16 at the Olympia Regional Airport and will feature the Albatros along with a variety of museum-owned and guest air performers.
