- HI All, Last night I attended my orchid society meeting. The Orchid Society Of Western Australia always has a sales table, so, today we have an orchid haul.

I’m in Brisbane & grow in a shade house facing north. My Catt. Purpurata grows like a weed & so do the nodosa hybrids. They like high light all day. Good luck with your new beauties!

I'm 99% certain that isn't a purpurata, that looks to be Cattleya x irrorata (syn Schilleriana), which is purpurata x intermedia.
Michael I think you are right. I’ve been looking at the variations of purpurata and nothing seems right.
I’m going to have a talk with OSWA about- this particular members- frequently mislabeled plants plus I paid a bit more because it’s a “ species “
I’m really trying to limit the noids in my collection- now I have another noid.
@@JuliesOrchids if it makes you feel better, irrorata is a natural hybrid and it is actually less common than purpurata.
@@michaelmccarthy4077 I think it’s still a NoId though? For showing purposes that is? I’m going to follow up on that. I’ve started Australia Orchid Council judges training this past Friday.
