- Once again I went orchid crazy and here is my haul to show it. While filming and promoting the new Florida International Orchid Show, Wellington International Orchid Show. Hi Kelly! Isn’t that a gorgeous Cattleya. I love the color and size of the flower. Pam has been displaying some of the best Cattleyas at the shows. I’ll be paying a visit to her upgraded and improved nurseries in April. I heard she has really turned it around. I saw some pictures and it looked very impressive.Mohalo🤙🏼

appreciate all your video's Nelson.Hopefully one day I'll get round to doing some too but like you say the editing, the equipment cost, I dread to think what your 4k camera cost. My computer screen only goes up to 1k lol. The main reason I have wanted to make video's is to help others understand orchids better. I have talked to hundreds of growers... I have only ever talked to one other grower that had devoted as much time to figure out what they require to flower or to grow well. Don't get me wrong, everyone has an idea of what they need. Or they come up with theories. Most of them are wrong. Most of the time it doesn't actually matter too much. What orchids need more than anything is the natural rythm of nature. And a pest free environment. But then people hypothesize they need a cold spell or a dry spell. That is why I appreciated your channel on top of your top content. You interviewed other growers and I learnt so much from your friend in jamaica and mercedes and the other visit you made, I forget her name but equally as impressive plants and the tips you gave finding out how they grow was so useful so one day hopefully I can share what I have learnt so far. You also mentioned to ignore wannabe growers liking to discuss orchid care online. So true, yet also the reason for all my frustrations. Good orchid care, online, often gets ridiculed ironically.
Thank you Tom. Young should definitely plan to do your own videos. It can be rewarding. Just use your phone. The camera has settings you can possibly upgrade. You’d be amazed what these camera phones can do. UA-cam search how to navigate the camera on your phone.

josh should make little hanging pots out of those coffee cups, put mini orchids like a tolumnia in it. the colors would stand out so nicely. drill some holes in them josh...but i am in love with those cups.

Yes. For the size of some of these orchids I felt they were very well priced.
Dockrilla wenzellii; now called dendrobium. So cool . Try find it’s cousins cucumerinum and linguiforme. Very cool flowers . Hi from Cape Town . You also get dendrochilum wenzellii which is the grassy one ? Comes in red and yellow. Very cool

Thank you! I appreciate that. I love the towers as well. I love to hang all sorts of orchids but mainly Dendrobiums. I’m still testing the sun intensity. I did have to move them in a bit more to avoid any extreme direct sun for too long. This Spring is going to be magical in blooms.

Lol! The tripod is way stronger than my actually tripod. I stop using it cause a strong wind knocked my last iPhone and busted the lenses. I had to reordered a new one. Thank God I had insurance against damage. My home jiñe tripod is very strong. Lol!!!

Thats wonderful news! Glad I could help bring your bat plant back. Yes you may repot it. Use a peat mix medium. They do love moisture specially in the summer. Bat flower likes to be planted in a wide, shallow pot with very rich and well-draining potting soil. It prefers a potting media that contains 50% pine bark, 40% peat moss, and 10% sand, or similar combinations.

Thank you! 🥰 I’ve done nothing to it. It’s grown out and I’ve been to busy to set a hair appointment. I put a little Paul Mitchell steady grip gel when it’s wet, style, and let it air dry.
I wonder about those booths with no names. Like are they poachers that don’t want to advertise?
No! Lol! They would be discovered immediately if they were poachers. Allot are mom-n-pops who don’t do many shows or are just starting to do shows. I see it all the time. After a couple of shows you see them building their brand. Like Vicky’s Orchids. She’s a perfect example of building her identity and brand.
Aren't you running out of room for your orchids , everytime you go to show you come back with a haul.
You know I ask myself that same question. The answer is yes! We need to expand the greenhouse. That’s happening this year. 🤗
