Hey in case you guys didnt know the king (James Earl Jones) did the voice for Darth Vader in all the Star Wars movies. Also the part in the restaurant where the guy says "I'm washing lettuce, soon I'll be on fries, and that's when the big bucks start rolling in" is a legendary movie quote that people still use today! So funny
This movie is so awesome, I've been quoting the most random lines from it for 30+ years!😂 "He aint lyin'!" "Whatever you liiike" "Were you going to say something?" "You sweat from a babboons balls" "S**UAL CHOCOLATE!!!" Etc etc etc 😂😂😂
You have to react to Trading Places with Eddie Murphy and Dan Aykroyd to understand the importance of the men he gave the money to. ❤❤❤ Thanks for your reaction!
The 2 homeless men he gàve money to, are in one of his first movies TRADING PLACES in 1983. The movi3 was about. the stock exchànge, and those 2 lost everything in the the end.
Concord was a supersonic passenger plane ( 1350 mph, 2170 km/h ). It broke the sound barrier that is like 700mph. An Air France flight in 2000 crashed on take off and they never operated again. Trading Places came out before this movie and those 2 old white homeless men that Akeem gave the money to were very important characters in that so to understand the reference you need to react to that. You will understand it much better
It's sad that they don't make movies like this anymore. The guys at the barber shop are my favorite lines. But there are a lot of funny scenes in this movie ❤
I remember watching this in the theater with my older brother, he's since passed away last year and will the second Christmas we don't get to this classic together but in spirit.
Gentlemen, I thoroughly enjoyed watching your reactions to this film. For context to the “pocket change” drop at 36:19, watch the 1983 film “Trading Places”.
For those of us lucky enough to be around in the 80s, no one (besides Robin Williams) came close to Eddie Murphy in terms of comedy gold 😅 In that decade he gave us Coming To America, Trading Places, Delirious, Raw, Beverley Hills Cop, 48 Hours, The Golden Child, plus all his incredible work on Saturday Night Live, dude is a legend!
The 3 barber shop guys are Eddie Murphy and a couple of guys onstage at the fundraising event are him. The quote was Friedrich Nietzsche, a German philosopher.
I Love You My Brothers I hope someday you will come to America 🇺🇸. I Love You My Habbib Brothers. 😉👍❤️❤️❤️❤️ . Sending Love ❤ from Pensacola Beach Florida USA 🇺🇸 ❤❤❤.
I'm really glad to see your displeasure at the representation and disrespect for women in the movie. Even though it was made pretty long ago, women fought for opportunities and lots of barriers had been broken. Young men, regardless of culture, keep evolving in terms of how they relate to women in the workplace and at home.
As people have mentioned, the Prince's dad was played by James Earl Jones. He was a Lieutenant in the Army (this was not easy for Black people at the time) and he was certified as a Ranger, which is an elite kind of soldier. When he passed away this year, they sold off the vast collection of guns he had amassed over the years: for example, of approximately 175 WA2000 sniper rifles ever made, 10 were imported to the US and Jones owned two. An American icon.
Concord was the world's fastest passenger plane ever made. However, it was a bit of a "hanger queen", meaning it needed as much maintenance as many combat aircraft. It just wasn't economically sound .. so inferior to slower but much cheaper and more reliable vehicles. Nice idea .. in theory. But sometimes theories just don't mesh with reality too good.
1. They killed the multiple roles.🤩🤩 2. The appearance of the Dukes is called an "Easter egg" for "Trading Places.". 3. "If you want to keep working here, stay off the drugs",🤣🤣 3. RIP James Earl Jones😇 4. RIP John Amos😇
Someone might’ve said this already but the guy robbing the restaurant is the same guy from pulp fiction, and you remember the restaurant scene in that 11 he’s the one getting robbed, lol.
Sorry you didn't seem to get the scene with "Mortimer and Randolf" Thanksgiving is coming soon and it would be a time soon coming to be some jive turkeys like yourselves to watch a different movie with Eddie Murphy in it... I'd go with it if you can figure it out somewhere between Thanksgiving and the merry new year if I were yous...
"Who is Nietzsche?" Friedrich Nietzsche, German philosopher of the 19th century. Interesting stuff. Important not to blame him for certain 20th century German movements that hijacked his name.
Oh this movie is great. RIP James Earl Jones. His amazing voice I will never forget. I actually shed a tear when I heard about his death. Another great movie of his Field of Dreams if you haven’t seen it yet definitely worth it. He also had a small role in each of the Jack Ryan movies. Hunt for Red October, Patriot Games, and Clear and Present Danger (not sure the correct order of those last two, they are technically a trilogy. Action movies about a CIA Officer) Jones plays CIA director. All very good movies.
Yeah it's kinda icky. They also have a tendency not to remember black characters' names and refer to them as their skin colour only. Even when said character is a MC (Somerset in Se7en and Red in Shawshank Redemption)
Did you catch the remark of the one on the right. When the larger lady came out then the real bride to be came out. He said, "they're the same" I guess both dark skin. Then he said "what you think she's beautiful?" to the one on the left. Smh. I'm through with this channel.
Got a great recommendation for a movie. The Mothman. Based on true events. That bridge came down and there were many reports of seeing this creature in advance of the devastating collapse of the bridge. You won’t be disappointed.
OK, so Arsenio hall, and Eddie Murphy both had four different roles in the movie. Eddie Murphy played the prince, The barber that actually cut his hair, the white guy in the barbershop, and the lead singer of sexual chocolate. While Arsenio played his servant, the barber with the beard and the white hair sitting in the barber chair in the barbershop, The Reverend, and one of the girls that they talked to at their table in the nightclub.

Have you ever thought to try to move to southern Europe? I mean, Italy or France, for example? Maybe for Algerians France is better, but there are a lot of arabs here in south Europe. You would be in a wealthier country, and moreover you could gain money and a passport to go to US whenever you want, as a turist, because departuring from Europe is not like departuring from a northern african country, once you land in US. They take in count where you come from. Then, you can try to figure out how to move permanently to US if you want, but since it's already difficult to move there permanently for us europeans, it's impossible to do that directly from Algeria, unless you have saved a lot of money and have a good sponsor there who needs you for a formal job.
You need to watch trading places next with eddie murphy its funnier. And the 2 old guys he gave the money to are from trading places. Eddie Murphys character make them poor
