As much as I love these two, it is very much disappointing that younger gens don't know as much about black cultural pasts or even actors that are staples in the film industry. Somewhat very disheartening. A lot of these actors that Jae says look alike, have no resemblance at all. 😢. I smh alot more than I pump my fist now. 💯 still love though.
That’s the cultural issue the old heads be talking about with hip hop. The younger generations don’t revere the legends like we used to but it’s partially the generation before them that didn’t show the youngins the importance in that. I’m a film fanatic so I watch all eras of it but I know some people that change the channel as soon as they see a black and white movie on.
"I hope he ain't give that money to the wrong people!" 😂😂😂 Y'all gotta watch "Trading Places" now to get why what you said is HILARIOUS 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@BingeTies That would be Madge Sinclair. She had a very accomplished career and would probably be best known to a young generation as the voice of Simba's mother in the Lion King. Also a RIP to Louie Anderson who died a few years ago. He was the cashier being held up by Samuel Jackson. He was a very popular Comedian and was well known to the public when this movie came out. He also went on to host Family Feud for a few years. Eddie Murphy was huge in the 80's and kick started a lot of careers for people.

As a Cameroonian (West African) I enjoyed how they portrayed African royalty accurately. Kimg Joffe has that African king charisma and voice for sure and most African kings (and presidents nowadays) are filthy rich for sure. Also enjoyed how they portrayed the relationship between Africans and African-Americans too❤. RIP to James Earl Jones and John Amos and thanks to them for making my childhood memorable with this classic.
Calvin Lockhart ( the father of the Selected bride) RIP he played the rev. Deke O'Malley in the movie "Cotton Comes to Harlem" , directed by Ossie Davies --- he and his wife Ruby Dee played in Spike Lee's movie"Do the Right Thing" as the elderly couple. The "selected bride" in Coming to America is Vanessa Bell Calloway !!!!
1. They killed the multiple roles.🤩🤩 2. The appearance of the Dukes is called an "Easter egg" for "Trading Places.". 3. "If you want to keep working here, stay off the drugs",🤣🤣 3. RIP James Earl Jones😇 4. RIP John Amos😇
Fun fact: the two old homeless men that Akeem gave the cash to are the same characters from Eddie Murphy’s other movie, Trading Places. If you’re interested in seeing how their story went before they were homeless, Trading Places is worth checking out. Another Eddie Murphy classic!
27:00 Those 2 guys are from a movie called Trading Places. It came out before Coming To America. Eddie Murphy played in that movie, but he was a different character, and it has nothing to do with this movie. Lol Let’s just say that they did some things and Eddie’s character is the reason they are like that. 😂😂😂😂 I’ve always liked how they put that part in this movie. Y’all should watch it.
Coming To America is not only one of Eddie Murphy’s best movies but it’s one of the greatest & quotable movies of all time. I would love for you guys to watch the following movies: 48 Hours Trading Places The Beverly Hills Cop franchise Harlem Nights Boomerang The Nutty Professor The Nutty Professor 2: The Klumps Dream Girls Norbit Mr. Church
James Earl Jones was born in a town called Arkabutla, Mississippi that only has about 300 people, and still managed to give one of the most convincing performances of a foreign royal that I have ever seen.
The fact that our good sis Lisa was wearing those $500,000 earrings with everything and wore them everywhere… LEGEND 🔥 Her style was so understated and chic af. So much so that the earrings looked just so casually there and almost felt like they were just extensions of her ear. Like she was born wearing them…. LEGEND 🔥
26:53 when you guys react to the movie "Trading Places," starring Eddie, Dan Akroyd and Jamie Lee Curtis, you will understand what that scene was all about. Btw, the old white guy in the barber shop was also played by Eddie Murphy too. My opinion, I watched Coming To America Part 2 just once, I've seen this one many times.
Wait...y'all havent seen "Trading Places"? 26:55 that is Randolph and Mortimer Duke from "Trading Places", another Eddie Murphy movie. I thought y'all already reacted to that movie, if not y'all need to watch it, another Eddie Murphy classic
Why the heck does everybody stop reacting to this movie right after the wedding instead of watching all the credits and all the characters that Eddie Murphy and the Arsenio Hall played, lmao, that’s one of the best parts of the movie
If yall love this film you guys should watch a movie called Which Way Is Up by Richard Pryor, he pretty much inspired Eddie and Martin with the different characters
James Earl Jones and Madge Sinclair also played husband and wife in the series "Roots he played the adult Kunta Kinte. Amos was also the father James Evans on the popular TV show Good Times
the guy who plays lisa’s father starred in the original Roots miniseries and the James Earl Jones narrated the Roots miniseries in 1977, i seriously recommend y’all watch it but be warned it’s an extremely tough watch but it’s also a must watch for the simple fact that it is the story of our people…also the remake that came out a few years ago is good too, same story just modern filming technology
RIP dads. Both Lisa's and Akeem's. John Amos and James Earl Jones, both passed away not too long ago. There's going to a hell of a lot bickering in heaven.

It's so ironic how Mr. McDowell didn't think Akeem was good enough for Lisa, but got mad when the King said Lisa wasn't good enough for Akeem. A person's worth should always be based on personality, attitude, character and soul instead of money.
Some other Eddie Murphy movies that you might like is 48 hours series The nutty professor series The Golden child the Beverly hills cop series of course Shrek his stand-up shows trading places he has a bunch more but I don't recommend them all
