I love that they made the Ponds the Doctor's companions for over a decade in their timeline (since he left them in this house I suppose), and for centuries for the Doctor, I like this dynamic of the companions still living their lives and the Doctor having other adventures not always with them, I enjoy the full time companions as well but I don't know, I like this a lot it cements their relationship, it feels so strong and it doesn't create such an addiction to the Doctor's life, though this story talks about this subject ^^
As weird as this episode is, as silly as it is, and with all the random plotholes (like heart stopped for 10 minutes) there's something about this episode I really love. Of course Kate Lethbridge Stewart being one reason to love it. So, will seem a spoiler, but I know you have already seen the next episode (I'm about to jump into your full reaction just now), there's a theory that this episode actually comes after the next episode in the Doctor's timeline. He talks about her face fading like he wont see her again, and in that scene the music is the same music when Amy and Rory jump in the next episode. There's a few other clues in the last few episodes that support the theory of all these episodes being out of order, but no official take on it by Moffat.
@zoeadams2635 I concur with the sentiment, although it will likely get screened before hand, and Affan will never read those comments that stray into spoiler territory. So yes, in principle, best to keep them current to the episode, if the aim of the comment is to have it read. I imagine some just like to comment for the community though.
The ending of this episode was revised as the actor who played the Shakri was notoriously difficult to work with and I think refused to carry on hence the rushed feel of it.
This is probably the only chibnall episode that’s well acted and has a very good plot so it’s such a massive shame that the ending is such a let down and it wasn’t even the writers fault. The actor who played the Shakri was really difficult to work with, he hated the show, thought it was beneath him, really didn’t like the prosthetics, he deliberately put on a weird voice and messed up takes, ignored direction and refused to act. They were left with not much footage of him at all, so little footage they actually had to make him a hologram at the last minute so they could literally take him out of the scene. Some of the footage of him is actually just stuff that managed to be captured between scenes, so there’s shots of him just standing there, or the back of his head. And not much dialogue at all. It’s such a shame the actor screwed over the production so much as the ending for me is the only really bad thing about the episode
@@crystalfire5564 because it’s a tv show, it means massive delays, production costs, staff costs, prosthetics costs to be remade and refitted, schedule conflicts, tight deadlines, they simply had to make do with what they got

With that odd ending apparently the actor playing the baddie was very difficult to work with so a lot was changed at the end lol
“7 sides of a cube”
“A cube has 6 sides”
“Not if you count the inside”
A weak episode in some places but damn that line was good.

Yes, the ending of this one is the worst part of it; in general, it is one of the best stories Chibnal did for the show... alas.
it was funny episode. this is episode 3. the boxes was strange. i wish they did more.
this is episode 4 the rest I agree with.
@@AffanReacts brain fart there. always thought it was the 3rd :D the power of 3. lol
Agreed

If he refused to work, why didn’t they just fire him and get someone else to play the part?
