- This is a video for a Kubota Z122r model 42” zero turn mower for replacing the drive belt and the steps needed to successfully install a new belt and tips and tricks for preventative maintenance to get the most out of your lawn mower.
Thanks for putting this video together. Just did my first drive belt. I used a zip tie to secure the belt routed onto the left pulley while fiddling with getting it routed on the right. Otherwise, it kept falling out of the pulley. I then cut the zip tie after the belt guide was bolted back in place on the tension pulley (had to oil that stubborn bolt before it would come off). I used a trim clip pry tool to extend the tensioner spring back into place. After the belt change, only my right wheel would function so I must have had air in the left system. Changed the hydro gear oil and filters and bled the air out and back in business!
Great guide man. Thanks for making this video!
The belt size is a “1/2x65” mine just broke today and no one around me had a belt besides tractor supply. It was only 20 bucks which was nice. Definitely need a spring puller for leverage. This video helped a ton when it came to how the belts go and what needs to come off first.
I pull the spring with a ratchet strap to put it on the spindle it makes it so much easier 😊
Thank you sir for the video
You don't have to take the seat or the gas tank off, I didn't even jack it up. You unplug the clutch wire, one mounting bracket, put your new belt on the pulleys, and replace the tension spring. (I didn't have to use a spring puller either; I guess because I'm a man.) Took me about 20 minutes, works perfectly.
You can leave belt off at pto pulley then put spring on tension pulley then pull on tensioner pulley and put belt on pto pulley then let go on spring
My problem, on the tension pulley there is a belt guard that is on so tight that you will need an impact wrench to break it loose. Never could get the belt past the guard. Now have got to figure out how to get it loaded up and take it to the shop, just to break a bolt loose. Crazy.
I had to oil that bolt to break it free. Frustrating!
@@EZmpcdid you have to use an impact drill or were you able to loosen it once you oiled it?
@@carolcardona9877After using some PB Blaster and letting it soak for a few hours, I was able to get it to come off without an impact wrench. Since then, I have acquired said wrench on account of a stubborn mag rod for my water heater. Now I’ll be able to tackle more DIY Kubota maintenance!
Thanks mate loved it, not looking forward to tackling that tension spring though.
It’s not as bad as the blade deck tension spring.
Good, help, thanks 😮
Thank you. Appreciate ya
Couldn't tell jack from this video the camera was all over the place.
