Thx for sharing your technique. I just had to replace my Radiator Fan and followed your suggestion to remove the radiator support bracket. This definitely allowed me to avoid draining and refilling coolant.
Steve your a rockstar dude, followed your directions and the job sent very quick. I did remove my radiator hose and only lost a few drops of fluid. I also used a 10 inch ratchet extension that I slid through the front grill and than attached a 10mm With a universal joint to get on and off of the bulkhead. Thanks a bunch
That's great! Glad that I could help. The only reason I make videos is to help others find solutions that I couldn't find or thought I had a better idea. There's not a chance that I will ever have any of my videos monetized, I'm not creative enough, and frankly, not that interested!
Thank you! I had the service manual in front of me but actually used your instructions. I'm not sure if you mentioned having to take off the 2 clips for the hood latch cable but i felt like i needed to do that. I had to get creative to get them off without breaking then.
I'm glad it was helpful. It's been a while since I did this work and we no longer own the car. I'd have to watch the video again to see if I said anything about that, but I'm pretty sure I just marked the placement and removed the latch while keeping the cable clips in place. Could be wrong though!
For those just doing the condensor fan, the hood latch does not need to come off and neither does the cross beam. You can just remove the radiator and condensor brackets, lean the radiator forward and wiggle the condensor fan out through the gap.
If it is in need of replacement, that would be the perfect time. It really isn't as hard as it looks. The shop manual diagram requires much more effort and those wire clips! I'm sure I would have broken at least 5 of them trying to remove the harness like the instructions said. The metal cutting and repair I did was just a mistake trying to avoid the inevitable. It was really easier than I expected. I would have shown the work, but I'm not a videographer and probably would have knocked the tripod over several times!

Glad to help. If you want to find a better way, give the job to a lazy man. Sometimes I even succeed!

Thanks Steve was very helpful made the process much easier 😀
Not to mention not breaking all those wire retainers!

Thanks for the video very helpful made the job go smoothly 👍
I'm glad you got some use from it.
If only the condensor fan is being removed does the hood latch have to come off ?

Man at that point might as well change the radiator at the same time 😬
