@violetwhiskers what is the strategy you used to negotiate? I have to buy a car on my own in the next few days. Being a senior woman, you know how that goes. Any insight will be helpful. Congratulations and thanks.
@@janetfedeles3964 As a fellow woman, I understand - everyone told me to bring a man with me, but I didn't have one to ask.... so, it was up to me to get this done! I read a lot online, and the main theme often recommended is to be very vague on what you actually want and don't commit upfront. What this means is approach the test drive first with comments like "I'm just going to test it... not sure I even want this size of car, or not sure I like gas over hybrid, etc" whatever you feel comfortable playing off of. Pick one thing to be firm on and that should be a particularly picky point. For me, I knew I wanted a grey interior. I said this upfront to give the sales guy something to try to satisfy for me, but was vague on everything else. He knew I wanted a grey interior (which is less common than black), but wasn't sure I wanted a gas vs hybrid, wasn't sure exterior color made a difference, and I asked a ton of questions. Like, literally I went through every button the dash and said "what's this do" - I think I came across as a hard sell to them, but also gave them an inch in terms of some interest. After the test drive, still express wishy-washy feelings about the whole thing. A manager came over to introduce himself to me, where I said the same - it was "okay" and I liked the interior, but I don't know about the color, not sure what I want to do, etc. He started to make concessions immediately and ultimately asked me "what can we do to help you buy this car today". I was really surprised he was so blunt, but knew that meant they were serious. They even offered to switch out the seats in the car with another one of another color, which I've never heard of before. Anyways, I also started commenting that I had spent too long here already - I had to get back to work, etc. and they started negotiating more. It got to the point where they again asked, what number would I want to pay. I asked for a $5k discount and they said they'd go talk to the other managers about it. I didn't think they'd agree to it, but might as well start high. Anyways, they came back and gave me discounts on some accessories and agreed to $3k below MSRP by then. At that point, I reminded them that I had a trade-in which they forgot about and we had already agreed on another $3k for that (it was a 2006 Corolla, very old but

I was pushed into the RAV4 XLE Premium FWD. Now at 196 miles, my miles per gallon are way short of the EPA on the sticker. The sticker lists 27/34, 30 mpg combined. So far I have a combined average of 24-25 mpg. Is this another falsely advertised EPA rating? I can think of multiple lawsuits against manufactures regarding falsely advertising EPA ratings.
the Digital meter type style looks 1 million times better than the analog type, not sure why Toyota insist on using the analog style as default, makes the dashboard look ugly...
I'd suggest spending 200$ on driving to California. Most new vehicles don't have mark ups unless it's a very special model. You can snatch one for under 40k.
Here is why I don’t like the RAV 4 and for the high price point it does not have the following, 360 camera on the lower trim, the internal lights is weak as hell, the inside door handle sucks!!! This is why I hate the RAV4 so much most cars internal door handle is situated in the middle of the door not all the way out of the way. You tell me Jeff how does that weird door handle feel when closing the door? I had a RAV 4 for 2 months got rid of it and got the Venza so much better car than the stinking RAV4. I hope they do more improvement and stop raising the price.
I regret getting toyota rav 4 2023 in hot springs, my car was damage by hail and it is almost 4 months already in the shop, imagine almost 4 months your paying the car and the insurance, it is really disappointing. Toyota sucks
RAV4 will never disappoint you it's really great vehicle 🔥
Thank you Jeff. I couldn't figure out how to unlock all the doors a once. Thank you. I just bought my Rav4 about a month ago with 7 miles on the OD.
I love my 2023 Toyota Rav4 Limited. the XLE Premium and Limited might look the same outside but not in the inside. I LOVE RAV44444!!!!
Love your videos! Just put our deposit down for a RAV4 XLE premium and this video was particularly helpful.
how much OTD?
@@TRISHYXXI got it for 38k OTD
@@TRISHYXX I just negotiated today for a RAV4 XLE premium FWD and got it for $33k OTD. Looking forward to picking it up tomorrow!

Waiting for the all new 2024 redesign.
I just bought a grandhighlander xle awd! Great car
First time watching one of your reviews and I'm guessing we're the same generation bc you're singing all my tunes! I'm a loyal Rav4 girl
I still like the RAV4 all wheel drive, but I am still hoping to buy a new Venza Limited without the star gaze roof. Thanks Jeff, Dan M.
The Rav4 has one of the best off road capability in its class. With the 8.6 inch ground clearance.

Does this car have wireless charging?
It is offered as part of an options package.
I just got a RAV4 XLE Premium hybrid, but it comes with 18 inch wheels , not 19 inch wheels.

I agree, but the pricing of these new ones are justified with all the new killer tech.
Because analog is classic 😂
