Right! I LOVED this game so much as a kid it was hilarious running over the bad guys leaving a little red splat on the ground, or in some cases the good guys too by accident 😂 im planning on getting an Amiga soon and reliving some good times with this game, Shadow of the Beast, Hybris, Monty Python's Flying Circus, Blood Money, and many other greats. Really looking forward to it. I tell people all the time- i was playing 16-bit games long before sega genesis came out with this bad boy.
I loved this game, I forgot what it was called, so searched for 'Amiga Tank Game'. You could play multiplayer with a null modem cable, brilliant fun. Used to have the audio hooked up to a cheap HiFi and played loud!
This game, Emerald Miner, Lotus serie, Kick Off serie, 4x4 offroad and the Blues Brothers... damn me and my Amiga friend had so much fun on that system.
This was the first game I saw on the Amiga with a friend of mine at a computer fair. Our jaws dropped! and it is still in my memory today, that's how I found this video. The intro with that amazing blast, after the commodore 16 and 64 we knew this was the next step. What great memories I have of this machine! , wish I could go back in time.
Von mir auch! Und es gab einen Trick bei den normalen Geschütztürmen: Wenn man die Mauer davor zerstört hat, haben die Türme, wenn sie schossen, sich ab und an selbst zerstört.
I had fun playing this back in the day. As I recall, you could drop mines from your tank, I used to annoy my mate by dropping a mine right outside his bunker so he lost a tank as soon as he emerged! I think the makers of this game went on to make a slightly improved sequel that made its way to the 3DO.
The idea that someone would build a cannon turret that can only fire in 45 degree angles is kind of cute. :P I played this game on my amiga 500 all the time. Never really got the point of it, though, but it was exciting to play.
I used to play this game. In the early nineties, Electronic Arts released a game called Desert Strike. In it, the player controlled a helicopter, flying around the Middle East during the first Gulf War. The graphics and sound were similar to Firepower. At the time, I did wonder if Desert Strike had been made by the same developer?
Played this into the early hours with my friend back in the mid 80's. We didn't even know what the objective was! We just spend hours blowing each others camp up, until we finally figures out that it was capture the flag 🙂 Very fond memories.
OMG, omg, omg! This game brings back so good childhood memories! THANK YOU for sharing! Is it posible to buy and play this today on more modern devices?
We would play this all the time at my friend's house. Only difference was that we always shot up our own bases because it was a lot more fun. Your own turrets down't shoot at you, so can wreck the whole place and nobody cares. 🤣
So much fun by dropping mines under trees so that they could not be seen, haha. And iirc you could bring the mines to explosion unharmed, if you happened to move past them at the exact pixel distance :-)
Remember it fondly. That intro explosion was fantastic for the time.
It was unbelievable it even supported two player game through MODEM.
My childhood has come back to haunt me.
This game was so amazing!

OMG, was playing this for 100s of hours! 😂👍🏼
This is the true open world game! Holy cow it was amazing, we played it split-screen all the time with my friends
This game, Emerald Miner, Lotus serie, Kick Off serie, 4x4 offroad and the Blues Brothers... damn me and my Amiga friend had so much fun on that system.

This was my first Online game experience ever. It was amazing to experience playing with a friend from a distance back in the late 80s.
Eines meiner absoluten lieblings Spiele auf dem Amiga :D

I loved that game as a kid!! We called the people "squishies" and just loved running them over! lmao
ohh I remember this one - childhood flashback. 2 player mode was great stuff also and a game like this that made me the gamer I am today!
*PLEASE TURN THE VOLUME UP* could be one of my most recurring thoughts.
first game i played and the amiga!
the sound fx blew me away literally^^
Great game. The fact you could play "on-line" against a buddy was so far ahead of its time.
Back then, squishing people in a tank was amusing.
Not to mention that it also has destructible environments, something that most modern games don't!
return fire is the sequel to this game it is on pc
As I remembered, you can also put a landmine somehow. Useful when there are two players.
It was down+fire IIRC. I used to do it accidentally when I was reversing all the time.
Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much better than the PC version...
I remember this with split-screen for 2 players. Is this that game?
Yep. Splitscreen mode when 2 players. :)
Incredible game

Did this game had an ending?
Yes. The other team had a flag that you had to find and then bring back to base.
the best in game are the explosions
My First Game!
Sweet memories
Holy shit Firepower!
If you ever have wondered where the Angry Video Game Nerd usually takes his explosion sound effects from:
Here you found the answer.
THIS WAD A GREAT GAME FOR TWO
