How freaking awesome this was ! One of the first Amiga games we have played.... how could such simple games bring so much joy........ hours of laughter & fun
Love the sound of the disc drive clicking and whirring away. Fond memories. Also, I'm glad the photographers backside was mouse-clicked. I'm sure everyone, who played this, did the same!!
It depends on the difficulty level chosen - the more difficult the longer the running route was. Already the medium difficulty could be sometimes challenging, and hard was just a nightmare, I probably never captured a single fort on hard.
Man this game. I loved the strategy elements but sucked so much in train robbery and fort assault. For some reason the game was really speed up in those levels. Imagine my surprise when years later as an adult I learned the game was actually based on a Belgian comic by the name of "Les Tuniques Bleues".
Man, I remember playing this game on my amiga 500. Loved it when that Mexican Guy dropped a bomb on your men. At some point I only needed the cannons to win fights.
Because it was almost impossible to capture them when playing against the CPU. On the other hand, how the computer handled battles, it was just awful...The whole game was so unbalanced.
It wasn't emulated, this was on our Amiga 1200 back in the day. Although it did have a 64 Mb RAM in it, so it would "have more than it would ever need", but I don't think that's what caused it. Probably may never know for sure.
@@Bembel81 This was in the mid 90s, when Amiga was already through its prime in the US. And my dad liked to hack together hardware with his PC jockey buddies. But I was still a kid back in the 90s, maybe it was _just_ 32 Mb. I don't know, it's an 8 year old comment. UA-cam didn't even have replies back then.
Ofc he's picking the South, I always did too. The game was a little lopsided in their favor in most setups that feature the port. My brother is wondering to this day how he got wiped off the map constantly... ;-)

CompactedEgg his giggle is cool xD
This game was (and still is) so much fun!

loved playing this as a kid !!!
Oh God the nostalgia! I had so much fun with this one back in the good old days.
Ah, yes.finding that pixel, giving the opportunity to cross the broken bridge.
This game was amazing.
This great game back in the eighties and early ninthies evoke a huge interests in the civil war, which lasted to this day and further on...
I've loved this game. It made my childhood.
One of my favorite Amiga Games!
what a great game, one of the best two players on the amiga
My god. I came of age in this period and I have NO idea what I'm looking at. The sounds alone are nearly sending me into a seizure of laughter.
Goosebumps after the horse noises til the rest of this awesome game.
drfaul they're the best. So good hearing all these nostalgic Sounds. Even the Sound from the Floppy disk drive is awesome :D
Ahh! I put MANY MANY hours into this game! Sweet memories!
Les musiques me faisaient déjà tordre de rire à l'époque... c'est toujours le cas 25 ans après :)
Man i loved this game. Was so fun to play it over and over and crush armies who are 3 times as big as yours when you were good at it :D
It was realy fun to play head to head. :)
back me 20 years before it was good days
those start loading sounds

We don't need no stinking PS2 games for PS4. We need Amiga games for PS3.
Great upload! I caught myself waiting for the Indian doing his UGH! Or whatever it was.
Ahhh the great 1980's :-)
Les Tuniques Bleues probably my favourite comics of all time
When I first saw this game I WANTED an Amiga 500.
One of the best multiplayer games for Amiga
"Click the photographer's butt! Click the photographer's butt!"
BEST GAME EVER
Ah memories ...
This was an awesome game
Grossartig
I always hated those Fort levels... They were insane. And same was train levels.
Best main menu ever. :)
Sounds
Amazing game!!!
Good old times

He really does... he could have cut off their railroad at least twice and he didn't.

This game makes me laugh 😂
god i love this game! and it was best on the amiga!
Did anyone ever actually take over a fort? Like ever?
yes, couple of times on amiga 500+ :)
Against a hard difficulty opponent like this? Never. Against the easier ones? Yes.
Same as JohnACorp782. The gameplay on the NES was so much easier. (Or at least that's the impression that I get!)
@@GOFLuvr NES more easy
i played that nice game every day
The speed could be explained by emulation?
Who ever is playing this hasn't got the first clue!
I remember that in 4 of 5 times i have failed to capture the fort or the train :)
Because it was almost impossible to capture them when playing against the CPU. On the other hand, how the computer handled battles, it was just awful...The whole game was so unbalanced.
where can i get this game 2020?
That’s exactly how it was back then. Especially the end. Long live Dixie lol
1:30 Sounds like Mike Marren
I never ever got to the front of that damn train
anyone could give me the different music we can hear when clicking the north / south / boat icons please?
Did this have anything to do with the TV miniseries of the same name?
This game took its likeness from this comic-book series: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Les_Tuniques_Bleues
Long live Dixie. I always play as the confederates. Lee and Stonewall were the best generals off the civil war.
I love the Game but i remember i suck at Fort assault!
1:31 im vibin stoned ,good memories ,peace from germany
Funny game for workers in break time
I love this game as much now as when it came out, but holy shit, what a choice of horrific conflict to make a jokey game about!
It was a war, but I don't think it was particularly horrific by the standards of war.
spent 92834563 hours on this as a kid
das fort einnehmen und den zug zu überfallen war übelst schwer da die zeit viel zu knapp bemessen war
Ja, diese Elemente machten nur im Zweispieler-Modus Sinn. Gegen den CPU hatte man so gut wie keine Chance

64 MB Ram in the early 90's - yeah sure...

Long live Dixie!
0:40 God save the queen? Why?
sutanpuu it plays the national anthem of the country depending on which language you select at the start
Is this history based ?Was there even a war within the US ?
Yes, it is based on a real war in the US, The Civil War.
Great game but this "longplay" is missing train robbery and canyon stages
But can this out beat Crysis? of course it can!
Great game, but you can't play it mate. ;-)
The new version is better. BTW I didnt exist until 2004 XD
What new version?
why do people go on line just to be nasty?
you play badly!!!
the new version is total crap, they ruined the way you controll units in battle.
Cancel culture?
Sooooo schlecht gespielt . Unglaublich
longplay is not 1 video of 12 minutes... wtf
Thats the full Game from start to Finish.
da evil comes csa-doc-omTieam. was here.
