•m y a i s a e s t h e t i c • right? I have a really embarrassing story. Me and my best friend who just learned how to skate went to a skatepark the other week. When we arrived there were just all these cute skater guys and like 10 year olds on their scooters, so we got all intimidated. Then we sat and watched the guys skate for like an hour and a half which was really nice. But then I was like “IM GOING TO SKATE!” Really determined. The first thing I do as I get on the skateboard is to run right into a big ass pebble and fall forward. I turn and see the gang of 4 cute guys looking at me and then snapping their heads to the other side as I look at them. I pick my skateboard up, cover my face and run away. I was so embarrassed😓

I took all day today trying to perfect the randja foot plant. It was hot, humid, and frustrating how I tried it over and over again. I hit my shin in the same spot so many times (with the lovely reward of a fat purple bruise) I took a break to just go skate before trying an ollie then going back. I went inside and got distracted by videos like this for more motivation. Let's just say I've finally gotten the trick and a beginner's ollie, working on a higher one tomorrow. So proud of myself and it really is the best feeling ever haha.
The only ones who look stupid is them. Wait till they see you 2 months later wowing everyone you see. They will look stupid. I personally ignore them and smile. They often go quiet, must be awkward for them. Adorable
Day 1: I fell down a few times but finally could keep my balance on a board and hardly ride it. Day 2: I got overconfident and pushed faster and that led to me spraining my foot. I WON'T GIVE UP THO. I'LL GET BACK TO IT AS SOON AS I'M FINE AGAIN. Update: Guys, after a year now I can do high ollies! I wasn't persistent enough but it's an improvement anyway, right?
Wear a helmet if you're a beginner and havent learned to fall yet. Save yourself the hassle of cracking your skull on pavement. Doesnt matter if you're 10 or 25, wear a helmet. Dont bother with the snarky comments you'll get, 90% of skaters wore a helmet at one point or another.

true but it was also my motivation. I'm a sensitive and fragile person so i thought that maybe skateboarding will help me toughen up a little bit more since i have the risk of falling and hurting myself. i have my skateboard for a year but i dont have much progress since i dont spend enough time on it. but hey, at least falling down is something that im starting to be familiar with or at least not make it a big deal. and even then, i rarely fall off a skateboard because i always step off of it everytime i feel like im riding it wrong. however, this is just my perspective in terms of learning how to balance and ride a skateboard. if you're talking about learning tricks, then im sure they'll be more challenges. but like the video says, the good outweighs the bad :)
Yo I was learning how to go up and down the ramp for 1 hour and tbh I was frustrated but when I got it it was the best feeling in the world, this video is awesome

those darn pebbles
right? I'm tired of people looking at me crazy when I fall😂
PSA:
The other day I was being an idiot and didn’t wear any pads or a helmet while going down this huge ramp, and now I’m gonna have to use crutches for a few months. Be safe👍
What does a helmet have to do with crutches?
I know
I was just confused about why pads/helmet would stop you from wearing crutches
@@griffinshorts785 they wouldn't because it's structural damage to the body, the bones, although protective gear would mitigate some surface level abrasions
@@cosmicdissonance9888 safety gear absorbs the force of falls so you dont break bones of course you still can
@@griffinshorts785 lets say you land really hard on your knees, pads would absorb that, but if you arent wearing those your legs absorb it and can break, hence the crutches

true but it was also my motivation.
