You're factors better than me at hovering but if you haven't discovered the two a/p hover modes you're in for a treat. GTC.H holds a position and GTC lets you move the heli around using the beep trims. Makes those tight quarter hovers even more fun! I was on the fence with this due to the price but I decided to take the plunge on the base and actions packs and I'm very glad I did. Hours and hours and hours of fun and the devs appear to be super committed to continued enhancements and improvements
@@cgaviator i am pretty sure the real one has that. just make sure you cut over into hover (hov) mode on your pfd. if you're in GTC mode you can actually see numbers related to your x,y movement speeds. so slick. it's going to change the way you do your missions, for sure
You mentioned the "Weapon Release Button". I couldn't find this in the MSFS Controls Menu. However, the H145 Manual did reference the "Toggle Yaw Damper" which is available in the MSFS Control Menu. I have now key-bound the Toggle Yaw Damper option to my Trigger button on my Controller and it works great.
Thanks for a great intro to fire fighting! I bought this helicopter a week ago, and it's a lot of fun! I haven't tested fire fighting yet, but now I need to do it.
The H145 is an amazing add to MSFS. Combine this with the Reverb G2 and its an amazing experience. The HEMS variant is amazing as well. Hoist rescue operations are a blast. Stabilizing your bird with the weight of the patient and Paramedic coming on hoist is a challenge to say the least. A recent update added a tail boom camera that may help you with lining up the bambi bucket for fire ops. The Mil variant is fun also... Who doesn't love working rockets and a mini gun for those NOE then pop up flights... Fast movers are fun but rotors! Oh boy!
A quick comment about the Scenario Editor (which you have to download from Hype Performance Group). I was under the impression that when you clicked the "Connect to Scenario Editor in PC" on the in-cockpit iPad it would automatically open the Editor. That has not been the case, so I don't know if I got that assumption wrong. If I open the Scenario Editor before launching the flight (maybe you can do it after you have launched the flight?) and have it running in the background. The iPad connect button works fine. One other thing. Be sure to run the "Update Mission Index" in the Tools folder inside the hpg-airbus-h145-ap folder, which is in your Community folder. This will update the Missions in the iPad Library. Do this whenever you have created or edited a Mission. Computers, it's all the Devil's work :)
Wow, that was excellent! I haven't had much time to play with the Action Pack, but the HPG H145 is one of my absolute favorites in MSFS. After seeing your video, I think I will need to take a closer look at the mission editor :)
Nicely done! Do you know if you can use the river as a pickup source, similar to the pond? I haven't yet picked up the expansion pack, but will do. True that flight dynamics aren't as good as XP or DCS, but the basics are there, and therefore it adds substantial variety & interest to the sim. Looking forward to Asobo's "formal" helo FM!
Im hoping someone comes out with a vertical reference view (bubble window) and allowing to change long line lengths as 150ft is very common at least in canada.
Good Video, Try removing the crew apart from the load master at the door also remove the doors while fighting the fire and pick up into wind to assist with lift and transitioning aways don't turn untill over 50 knots. Best addon ever well done, regards Doug
@@cgaviator oh yes just found those. I’m having an issue with parking the helicopter after I’ve picked up the patient though because it doesn’t seem to do anything after I park in the correct spot
It’s fairly simple but I can do if I get a minute. Just dive in, add some stuff, make sure you have a start and finish location then click save. In helo link to scenario editor and it should update the scenario each time you hit save 👍🏻

It’s very satisfying! I’m hoping MSFS 2024 takes it to a whole ‘nother level!
Oh that was even better than expected. I didn't know you were already able to do that in MSFS.
It got better with a recent update! Going to try it again tonight!
Great video Chris 👍🏻 Ref Vortex Ring the parameters I was taught when learning to fly was

Yeah, just downloaded the update. Need to find time to use it! 😩 But for variety, nothing beats it!

So many options, it’s great! I’m guilty of not using it til a couple of days ago! Going to try HEMS next
It’s so much easier in VR. Lovely scenery.
I really need to dial in my VR

Yes, any water source. The only issue is sometimes MSFS puts grass on greener looking rivers.

Worth joining their discord and submitting your requests. They’re working hard to make it incredibly feature packed!

Good tips! Thanks
Shunt the battery switch forward twice to avoid the bus-tie warning.
Aaaaah… thanks!
what keybinding are you using in the hype operation center to drop the water? Thanks
It’s in the manual I think. Relates to trigger function.
I'm trying t use the cargo version but cant seem to pick anything up, any clues for what will trigger picking up the cargo?
Haven’t had chance to use it yet! But in the Hype Ops Center there’s a keybind option/list. Should show you in there
After collecting the water, how do you release the water on the fire?
Good question! It’s in the manual or the H145 op center key bind list.
Does the helicopter come with some missions by default or do I have to create them?
There are some automatic missions I believe accessible from the iPad function.

Pretty pricey though, says me having just lashed out £233.0 on a Tobii eye tracker 5 (ouch!!)...................................

You will get the HEMS, fire fighting, offshore and two cargo variants for the price. Even the base pack will eventually get missions.
@@russellharris5072 I stuck with TrackIR, been reliable throughout though need to mod it so I don’t have the massive cable attached!
