Its crazy how I was just thinking about buying a pair of Weejun's this week and could barely find any reviews and then you go and make this video. Timing could not have been better 😂
Love this. I bought a pair of these Weejuns with leather bottoms but they sat in my closet for a year. I noticed them again and started wearing them with jeans and they look fantastic. I can tell they’re going to be my new best friend this summer.
Great video mate, I have been hesitant to buy a pair of the gh bass loafers because of styling and sizing. After watching this video and your styling video of the Adrian Tassel Loafers, I have just bought the Layton II Doc Kiltie pair! Thanks again Drew, you're a legend
@@DrewJoiner unfortunately, the Fred Perry collab was already sold out in the US. They went on sale last month and got the navy blue one for only 60 bucks lol
@@MrSodaBelly half or one size down would be okay, they arent padded unlike sneakers. I’m a tts 9 US on almost all sneakers and basketball shoes. I bought a size 8 on the loafers
I love Weejuns loafers, I was looking for a pair last year but ended up buying a pair of Paraboot. I prefer the leather outsole for sure, classier but the quality is way better (and last longer)
@@DrewJoiner I wanna buy these Layton Kiltie Loafers with either the thinner leather sole or the thicker lug sole. I was leaning a little bit more towards the lug sole (esp. since it's autumn/winter), why would you rather have the leather sole?
This is my 3 rd video. 😂 I started with the Adrian’s then I saw the comparison looked up the GH bass then saw the weejun searched UA-cam again and here you are. MY DAWG! #Subscribed
Hey man, great video! I recently wanted to get away from sneakers, to something more classy. I totally agree with the size. I'm a EU 42 normally and the Weejuns have a bit too much room on the heels, so my heel always gets out of the shoe a bit when I'm walking. I would recommend going half a size down as well. Also, I'm really surprised that they are actually comfortable. I have a wide foot, so shoes are usually too narrow, but after taking a few steps in the Weejuns, they are way more comfortable than they seem at first glance. EDIT: So I ordered half a size down, and now they are too tight. I don't wanna go through the hassle of (hopefully) breaking them in, so I'm probably gonna take the bigger size to a shoemaker to get some proper heelpads or something.
Loafers in general and G.H. Bass loafers particularly have been around for over 100 yrs at the same price (factoring infatuation). They are classic shoes that may have fallen out of fashion but never have they fallen out of style.
I have looked high and low for the 1990s version of Eastland brand penny loafers with the tassels and can’t find them? They have the “chunky sole” kind but not the regular loafer with tassels! Your help would be appreciated as I’m reliving my youth and dying for a pair of those same shoes!!
since this video is from like 8 months ago, just wondering how the lug sole is wearing? is it long lasting seeming or do you have any updated thoughts? thanks for your review!
what i am missing is your info if they give in size with wearing. Doc Martens tend to give a bit, whilst some shoes don‘t give at all. i am also between sizes and worry if i pick those that don‘t already feel snug, they will end up loosening even more
sNeAkEr hEaDs are completely baffled by sizing. One would expect people that obsess over a particular subset of footwear would know how sizing works yet every video from one of these tubers has a huge chunk of the length devoted to hemming and hawing about going up, down or go TTS. All these folks need to do is use CM sizing and all the mystery will be removed.
I just turned 15 but I am really into fashion and I am planning on buying new shoes. Should I buy the bradford penny loafer, the Jeremy loafers, the adrian loafers, 1461 docs or any other derbyes in the same pricerange?
@@bobamester368 I recommend the Adrian takes longer to break in but definitely stands out. I am not sure about the Jeremy’s or any pennys I don’t have the experience
I would go w/ the Logan. Simple, subdued & the most versatile imo. You’ll already be standing out by wearing pinch penny loafers. The Bradford and Larson screams preppy w/ the beef rolls (just No). I’d also recommend the Lexington if you’re looking for Tasse loafers. However, tassel loafers are traditionally age and situational specific (older/business casual ) and probably won’t go over well w/ peers at school. Your teachers will love it! With Kilted tassel loafers you are going all in. They seem more casual and stand out of all the styles but are the least versatile. At your age, you’re expected to push the boundaries and get away w/ completely ignoring style rules. So I encourage you to crazy but know that the crazy choice often leaves you w/ the least style options.
I really fuck with the vibes with the loafers especially after a specific pic from Jacob Keller. Only issue is, I got wide feet. Not sure how to size it or even how it would look all stretched out cause they look pretty narrow.😕
Does anybody knows how the sizing is for women?, I can't find a single video to find that out :(. I'm usually a size 7.5 in Nike, should I go down half a size?

Haha! Love it I knew there weren’t that many and definitely not one with multiple pairs of loafers I got you🤝

great to see your progression. I can tell you're more comfortable on the character. Keep it up bro
Thank you thank you just trying to improve bit by bit 🤝
Wow, the Laytons look so cool...very sleek style and I actually like that lighter sole. Very well done review!

I already have 3 pairs of Weejun 90s! I’m so happy that there isn’t so much hype so I can complete them all lol. The Fred Perry collab was the best 💯
I’m a newbie tbh I’ll have to check out some of those other pairs!

You gotta review a pair of Paraboot "Michael" and "Reims" loafer. By far the GOAT of all loafers!
Someone else literally just recommended those to me I will have to take a look for sure
i just got my first pair of Michaels, the best shoes i have ever had.
really reallly expensive but i could not resist.
Great video drew, I'm learning a lot and develeoping my style thanks to you

Intro is so good Drew
Great video, Im thinking about getting a weejun though one with their custom welt at the bottom!
Great idea!! I was considering a new outsole as well
Great vid! Would you pick up the doc adrian's or the moc? I want to buy my first pair of loafers
Thank you! The Adrians are probably the better beginner loafer.
Hey bro great video, I am size 8.5 tts (airforce, Jordan, etc) would u recommend sizing down to 8 for the weejuns or staying at 8.5?
I would stay
Do you see the Adrian loafers becoming a bit harder to get in the future like New Balance? Great video as always :)
No I don’t, people think the hype is real for loafers when imo it hasn’t reached anywhere near sneaker hype sell out cycles
Loafers in general and G.H. Bass loafers particularly have been around for over 100 yrs at the same price (factoring infatuation). They are classic shoes that may have fallen out of fashion but never have they fallen out of style.
Hey drew big fan, would you recommend buying it at the price it’s at now. Which is $185 since it’s sold out almost everywhere?
I think you can find it cheaper tbh
Great video! Quick question.. are these unisex?? I accidentally bought men’s😭😭😭
They aren't where did you buy them?
G.H. Bass just had a sale 50% off (oct). Competing w/ 1 of the Allen Edmonds big sales.
Need more loafers review!

The sole is holding up great! I have no complaints
What’s the difference between the
Weejuns 90s Layton II Kiltie and the LAYTON LUG WEEJUNS? They look exactly the same
Probably the same
Are the kiltie gh bass very very chunky ? I like them but afraid that they’re gonna be too much thick
If I’m having size us10 in Nike, what size would u recommend in weejuns? (Coz normally dress shoes size should go 1 size smaller than sneakers)
Nice videos
Question: am a size 10 in Allen Edmonds loafers, so should I keep size 10 in weejuns or size down to 9.5?
You may be fine staying true to size
I’m a little late but are these a good alternative to the Doc Martens Adrian loafers? I can’t get them they are sold out EVERYWHERE :)
Yes they are!
hi! i’m a size 8.5 on regular shoes (airforce 1’s and cdg play converse shoe) should i go 8.5 on the 90s layton ii kiltie as well?

I’m a woman and I’m thinking of getting some I used to wear loafers all the time. What do you prefer the tassel or the penny loafer style?
Tassel is more to my liking
Do you still have heel slippage on the lugs? I recently got my weejun penny loafers and i have a little heel slippage.
No it went away tbh
