Elvis Presley’s vocal abilities are widely regarded as the best in music history. His voice was incredibly versatile, allowing him to seamlessly transition between rock, gospel, blues, and ballads. His rich baritone and powerful tenor range, coupled with his emotional delivery, created a timeless sound. Songs like "Can’t Help Falling in Love", "Jailhouse Rock", and his gospel renditions such as "How Great Thou Art" showcase the depth and brilliance of his vocal talent. Many consider him a vocal phenomenon unmatched in his era.

Elvis had an incredible ability to make every song his own. He wasn't known has a writer, but his talent at interpreting a song, and then channeling it through his body like it originated there, was magical.
Insanely spectacular performance here, it's so hard to sing powerfully when you are emotional, but Elvis put it together. He walked that tightrope. EXCELLENT REACTION and Happy New Year Bisscute ! "IF I CAN DREAM" was Elvis' personal REACTION - to the social unrest in America during that year 1968 (assassinations of Robert F. Kennedy, and Martin Luther King, anti Vietnam war protests and riots). This performance was part of a one hour Elvis television stage performance - which was his first concert stage performance in 9 years (it was his "COMEBACK" to the concert stage after 9 years of only making movies). The Elvis1968 Comeback Special was the most watched television performance of the year! This inspired Elvis to do concert tours again, all the way to June 1977, just 2 months before he died.
This is a very special performance, It was filmed on a back lot in secret and became the last song performed that night, It was in the wake of the Dr Martin Luther King assassination , Elvis grew up very poor in Tuepelo Mississippi where he attended a Baptist Church ..He was an advocate for Civil Rights and very outspoken about it. He was a good man with the Voice like no other.. Truly Blessed he was and I was blessed enough to have watched him as a child.

Although many would not agree, as I grew up in the late 60s/early 70's just before Elvis died, I have always liked the songs I remember hearing on the radio but especially "A Little Less Conversation" and "Way Down" as they are so in-Elvis like recordings
This was written for Elvis specifically for him and for this TV show. At its core this is a gospel song. Elvis grew up with gospel and sang it his entire life. Rock and roll just paid the bills. When you talk about his vocal transitions, that's a common technique in gospel that he's using.
Elvis was good friends with Martin Luther King Jr., and Robert F. Kennedy, who were both assassinated in the year this was performed. This was not to long after Kennedy was assassinated. The producers wanted him to sing a different song, but he insisted on this one. He broke down after singing this and he never sang it again because it took so much out of him, emotionally. Elvis was a genuinely kind man. One of the most amazing songs you could listen to from Elvis is: American Trilogy.
Bisscute, Wow! You are finding out! And letting people know! This is so great of you! It's Elvis back on stage after 8 years of only doing movies! Great start for the New Year 2025! Thanks Bisscute!
Biscutte, your reaction was worthy of the song. It's really was. You get it. Elvis was an impossible mix of pure talent with supreme vocal power, together with charisma and stage presence that was off the charts. And has there ever been a cooler looking guy?
You are absolutely correct-having a great voice is not enough. That’s an insightful observation. Art is not about technical perfection or merely showcasing skill; it is fundamentally about expression. What are you expressing, as one human to another? Are you conveying emotions, ideas, or energy? At its core, art is about creating a connection-sharing something authentic and personal that resonates deeply with others in an aesthetically pleasing manner. True art demands courage, the willingness to be vulnerable, and the bravery to offer a piece of yourself in your work. A technically flawless performance can still feel hollow if it lacks depth or authenticity. It’s the raw, unpolished truth behind the artistry that makes it memorable. When an artist expresses something real and meaningful, it leaves an indelible mark on the audience. That’s why I admire artists like Elvis Presley, John Lennon, Kurt Cobain, and Freddie Mercury. They weren’t just performers; they shared something genuine, something deeply human. Each of them laid bare their emotions, struggles, and perspectives in their music, creating a bond with their listeners that transcends time and space.
Elvis sang this song ..."CRYING IN THE CHAPEL" that has remained my favorite of his since I was 9 years of age, the song was released April of 1965. It show cases his tender loving heart and amazing beautiful vocal. Bisscute, I am very happy that you are covering his songs as Elvis was the "King of Rock n Roll" . He also starred in movies dating from 1956 - 1969. which you might explore on your Bissflix ! You always bring your beautiful, playful and captivating reaction that I look forward to no matter the song!
An often overlooked MUST HEAR Classic,, From his movie "The Trouble With Girls".. Elvis Presley "Clean Up Your Own Backyard" ..His MOST rockin' bluesy track EVER!! 🔥❤️
When my mom was in her late teens/early twenties, she went to a few Elvis shows. My dad never went with her, knowing her ( and thousands of women ) would be screaming, yelling and crying in awww for a man that was not him. My mom always said ( in front of my dad, my brother and me ) that she would mount Elvis if she had the chance. When ever an Elvis movie came on tv, we were on our own. She was not to be disturbed. All Elvis songs were hits, but I personally liked Jail House Rock.
Such a great reaction! Elvis has so many great performances. I think you would really enjoy 'You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'' live from Vegas 1970 or 'An American Trilogy' live from Hawaii 1973.
IMO opinon Elvis' best performance. Your comment "He is sweating charisma" was perfect. He was so serious about doing this song. His con artst manager Colonel Tom Parker and the TV execs didn;t want him to do it, thinking he would stir up more rioting for Civil Rights and piss off the Southern States in the USA [they still had a problem with white racism against minorities and still do today in many areas]. etc. He told them either he'll do it and get to broadcast the tape, or he'll walk out and cancel the whole show. He was damned serious. This show was taped in summer 1968 but not broadcastuntil Decemeber 3,1968. The only Grammy awards for his records he ever earned were Gospel music albums
His rendition in “An American Trilogy” was special to folks celebrating 4th of July summer of ‘79, barely 2 yrs after he died. I remember hearing it being played at a park and you could see people tearing up realizing the loss of his charisma, talent, what he meant in their youth. I can see them shaking their heads even now. Now it’s easy to see him on the internet but then all people had was vinyl and maybe a console stereo. So glad to see Bisscute enjoy his voice so much. I remember seeing that ‘68 comeback special after enjoying his movies as a little kid. A talent for the ages.
Biss, every music artist you've listened to owes a portion of their career to Elvis. You should watch his first performance of Hound Dog on the Ed Sullivan 1956
@Zgenzayan007 The Ed Sullivan appearances are the most famous because many more people watched Sullivan, and it's preserved now in higher resolution than the Dorsey Brothers and Milton Berle shows. But by the time he got allowed on Sullivan, Elvis was already toning things down for tv. The best, most natural and untamed Elvis ever on tv was his several Dorsey Brothers show appearances, and his Hound Dog on the Milton Berle show. Check those out ☺
React at the videos where people are speak about him, you can feel him from the second he entered a room even if he was behind you! His charisma its like nothing else! You could feel him! Its amazing
"Elvis Presley's talent as a musical artist was double barrelled and more; his voice, on the one hand, was extraordinary for its quality, range and power, as well as being a unique stage performer with instinctive natural abilities in both areas; he was the master of a wide and diverse range of vocal stylings and ventriloquist effects, from the clear tenor of his C&W heroes, to the vibrato of the Gospel singers he loved, his voice invariably possessing an aching sincerity and an indefinable quality of yearning virtually impossible to pigeonhole". (From the U.S Department of the Interior's paper on criteria for greatness as a vocalist, which, together with all aspects of his life and legacy, led to the inclusion of his home, Graceland, in the National Register of Historic Places.)
Happy New Year, Bisscute! Elvis is such a good start in 2025😍 Please react to "Unchained melody" (live 1977), one of his last perfomances, he was already ill, but passion and voice are still with him. Great example of how dedicated artist can be to his art, no matter what.
Elvis Presley was the leader of a new generation of pop singers who put PASSION into their songs. In general, the singing stars of the 1940’s were quite reserved and even repressed by today’s standards. Singers male and female did not physically express themselves very much, and they especially didn’t show any raw passion or LUST. 😲 The 1950’s Rock & Roll generation was quite different. Elvis and his contemporaries brought strong passions and desires to the stage, and millions of girls and young women LOVED IT. 😍 Of course, all the conservative parents saw Elvis as EVIL…..😆
Ok, Bisscute. HOUND DOG from the Milton Berle Shoe in 1956. AMERICAN TRILOGY from the concert in Hawaii. ONE NIGHT WITH YOU and TRYIN' TO GET TO YOU from the 68 COMEBACK SPECIAL. And UNCHAINED MELODY from one of his last concerts in 1977. And don't forget the Billy Idol video for TO BE A LOVER. We love it when you get excited watching him perform. Happy New Year. Keep going and enjoy the music.
Beautiful song and it really highlights how good Elvis' voice could be when he sang like this. Really enjoyed your reaction and I hope you are having a Happy New Year!
Dear Bisscute, a truly heartfelt reaction to one of my favorite songs from Elvis. He was indeed unique and this song was particularly important for him. President John F. Kennedy had been assassinated, Pastor Martin L. King had been assassinated. Those wore somber days. This song remains timeless. Wish you a Happy and Blessed New Year.
Great Elvis performances...first of all lots of the SONGS SUNG LIVE IN his 1968 COMEBACK SPECIAL are great(JUST PICK ANY FROM THAT SPECIAL, ESPECIALLY IN THE SUT DOWN SECTION)--also great live songs are BRIDGE OVER TROUBLED WATERS, JUST PRETEND, AMERICAN TRILOGY, WHAT NOW MY LOVE, NEVER BEEN TO SPAIN, POLK SALAD ANNIE, YOU GAVE ME A MOUNTAIN, THE IMPOSSIBLE DREAM, IN THE GHETTO, CAN'T HELP FALLING IN LOVE, MY WAY, SUSPICIOUS MINDS...there are others either live or studio that are great but these bunch picked here are a good start for you!
Hello Bisscute, A beautiful song to start the year and a lovely performance by none other than the great Elvis Presley. I didn't know the song, but I found it beautiful, with a message full of hope, inviting us to keep moving forward despite all hardships, which feels very fitting for the beginning of the year. I’d like to start the year by suggesting the unforgettable Nat King Cole and his performance of Unforgettable. Greetings from Mexico City.
Great review!! Consider listening to Bridge Over Trouble Water...It's one of my favorites. The writer of the song said "Elvis sang it the way it was meant to be sung. When he was young there are so many fantastic songs, in difference genres. It is a matter of taste and opinion, but soooo many gems. Older Elvis? What Now My Love. Again, too many to count, but those are a couple of standouts for me. Mid career Elvis.. many songs from his 68 comeback special are wonderful, especially when he is sitting with guitar...one of my faves is Trying To Get To You. Vocally he was a genius...he sang so many genres, with so much style and depth in his voice. He is the only artist (no one comes close) induced into 5 music genre Halls of Fame (the criteria being "mastery of the genre") (Blues, Country, RocknRoll, Gospel, Rockabilly) Again, Elvis is a vocal genius...being able to master different genres requires amazing vocal artistry. Thanks for your fantastic reviews! :)
“Trying to get to you” from same 68 comeback special is a must see, you will love his raw passion and charisma

In general, the singing stars of the 1940’s were quite reserved and even repressed by today’s standards. Singers male and female did not physically express themselves very much, and they especially didn’t show any raw passion or LUST. 😲
The 1950’s Rock & Roll generation was quite different. Elvis and his contemporaries brought strong passions and desires to the stage, and millions of girls and young women LOVED IT. 😍 Of course, all the conservative parents saw Elvis as EVIL…..😆
Appreciate you and your channel. Keep up the good work. ✨️
Love your reactions to Elvis if you want to hear his vocals do my way from 1973 aloha from hawai then you will understand the hype ❤
Sweet reaction,I subscribed, to see more of you reacting to Elvis...He has such a great legacy, there is so much to discover.
Ok, Bisscute.
HOUND DOG from the Milton Berle Shoe in 1956.

It was the
“Singer Presents ‘Elvis’ “
television special.
Broadcast on December 3, 1968.
Beautiful song and it really highlights how good Elvis' voice could be when he sang like this. Really enjoyed your reaction and I hope you are having a Happy New Year!
Love it. Thnx!
Probably the best Elvis song. It shows off his amazing voice and energy. Happy New Year, thank you for covering.

Don’t worry about the “negative “. Focus on all the positive, my CRUSH!💖❤️💗💕💋
This song was for MLK days after he was assassinated...Elvis was way ahead of his time
It’s the deep dives and the range in his voice, also a proper showman
Dear Bisscute, a truly heartfelt reaction to one of my favorite songs from Elvis. He was indeed unique and this song was particularly important for him. President John F. Kennedy had been assassinated, Pastor Martin L. King had been assassinated. Those wore somber days. This song remains timeless. Wish you a Happy and Blessed New Year.
Great Elvis performances...first of all lots of the SONGS SUNG LIVE IN his 1968 COMEBACK SPECIAL are great(JUST PICK ANY FROM THAT SPECIAL, ESPECIALLY IN THE SUT DOWN SECTION)--also great live songs are BRIDGE OVER TROUBLED WATERS, JUST PRETEND, AMERICAN TRILOGY, WHAT NOW MY LOVE, NEVER BEEN TO SPAIN, POLK SALAD ANNIE, YOU GAVE ME A MOUNTAIN, THE IMPOSSIBLE DREAM, IN THE GHETTO, CAN'T HELP FALLING IN LOVE, MY WAY, SUSPICIOUS MINDS...there are others either live or studio that are great but these bunch picked here are a good start for you!
typoin my last post...meant to type "especially in the sit down section" not the sut down section!
Typo! Having a hard time avoiding typos, Biss!
Hello Bisscute,
A beautiful song to start the year and a lovely performance by none other than the great Elvis Presley.
"Trying to get to you" Elvis live in 1968

"How Great thou art". 1972 live. Gospel classic, Please please please do this one next. Love your heart felt reactions to Elvis.
This song was written after the assassinations of Martin Luther King and Robert Kennedy.
Billy Idol ...is and was huge elvis fan ...
Love that song thank you ❤❤❤❤

He made the ending of the song so quick, because he was fighting back tears and wanted to get off stage.
