The 4T65E has a single spring per side. And they are shitty springs and a lot of people have broken ones when they pull it apart. You would want to get a shift kit to install. they have better springs and better spacers. Not a hard job at all just takes about an hours and half of that is waiting for the pan to drain. Do yourself a favor and on the pan the closest to the passengers side behind the line on the pan drill and tap a hole and put a drain plug in it. It helps a lot when servicing the transmission. Also buy the more expensive filter that has a plate on it that says 4T60 4T65 on the filter. The cheap ones are shitty and you get a brand new reusable gasket and you will have a spare.
Love how the guy don't point out that the stuck or failed Pressure Control Solenoid is caused by a shitty design and GM actually released a service bulletin that tells you to correct it by installing a Borg-Warner part because it is better. So they actually put a PCs in with a known problem and rather than recalling it they tell you to pay for the solenoid and do the work. The work part don't bother me I actually enjoy doing it but for fuck sake give everyone the better solenoids free of charge. They're the ones who stuck the shitty ones in there.
i just bought a '95 lumina and its not shifting right,it slips mainly in overdrive, and i notice it doesn't always downshift in 1st gear when i come to complete stop.i changed the fluid and filter, and put some lucas in,it's a little better but not much.you have any ideas?
