I just did this repair on an 05 LeSabre the accumulator pistons were severely worn with the pins. I replaced the pistons pins and gasket along with this shift kit and it was a night and day difference in shift quality. The longest shift from 1-2 was 2.3 seconds! factory shift times are 0.3 seconds now my shift times are back down to normal.
I have an 06 impala lt 3.5 started having shifting issues at 80k miles bought the car with 65k couple years prior. Did the dorman pan with drain plug, upgraded magnets per tsb, also installed the sonnax line hold down. When installing the accumulator part I replaced the pistons with somnax forged aluminum ones with new oem rings. Put it all back together filled with valvoline maxlife trans fluid and bottle of lucas trans additive. Now at 112k miles change the fluid and filter every 15k and no issues shifts great will eventually need to do the tcc solenoid when cruising at highway speed the rpms occasionally will fluctuate up an down so the converter isn't staying locked but other then that on occasion it's been great. Make sure u install the updated magnets the oem square thin magnet doesn't do it's job an once the solenoids get metal in them ur done n will be replacing them since they are magnetic solenoids.
I appreciate the video just did this on my 03 Buick LeSabre it was shifting hard and sometimes slipping when accelerating from a stop it was easy before you do I recommend putting trans tune and drive alot for a few days then drain the fluid feels like a new car now haven't had any hard shifts or slipping
I have a 00 old silhouette. Where is this located? What's the name of it. Do u need to drop the Trans. Did I work for u . I lost drive. Now I have to start in 1st to move. Once I get going it's fine. Idk what's up

Its also a good idea to pull the pistons out and use a scotch brite to clean the walls. I think the instructions actually say to do so if im not mistaken
well maybe I can save some of you problems. I am a professional transmission rebuilder of 40 years. on the accumulator pistons he is showing, you need to put in new ones. they are aluminum and they all wear out where the pin goes through the hole, and leak. it will cause sloppy shifts and burn your transmission up. also you can't install the whole kit unless you have the entire unit apart, he don't,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
My 06 uplander 150k has a harsh go after a stop sign, sometimes. Should I worry about that band that breaks. Can I do nothing and just live with it? Sometimes other gears shift hard too. Thanks
@@richardcallahan1689 dont know if you still need an answer for this and i cant comment on the harsh shifting, but the forward band, if snapped will more than likely leave you with only manual 1st (manual 2nd if lucky and doesn't slip)

But my phone is cracked and saying I went over my limit wtf supposed to be unlimited. But reverse is cool . I have to start in 1st then 2nd after say 20 mph I can drive like regular . No lites no codes no smell . Please look at my channel I uploaded what it looks like. The fluid and sound if that helps. Do u think this is the issue. Idk what to do. How many miles do you have on yours? I have a 2000 LeSabre with 78k and planning on doing this too. I have no issues with the tranny, though.
I have a 1989 Oldsmobile 88 with 80k. Wanna do this to extend transmission life, no transmission problems tho

I installed this kit in my 1999 Pontiac Montana, it worked great. Was getting harsh shifts with code 1811

I’m getting the same code for my 07 impala SS did you also changed the trans pressure control solenoid?
@@EPS.17 No I didn't. Just installed the servo spring upgrade portion of the kit. In my case that's all it took, the problem never came back.

it doesn't come with any for that, those o-rings are for a different area that you saw in the plastic bag

That’s only the 1-2 2-3 accumulator, those ones wear out the most on hard acceleration, the overdrive shift is usually very smooth

What about the rubber seals for the piston? Doesn’t seem to come with the pistons online, can you reuse the old ones?
I installed this kit and now my car gets 47mpg, up from the 28mpg I was getting before.

@@Googstuuf Transmission accumulator. The kit is called transgo shift kit or 4t65e transgo shift kit w/o tap shift.. Amazon has them.
