This is so emotional to see. I am so happy he returned. Most do. Some don't. But they have no other option than to defend their land. And there are as many good reasons for us to support Ukraine as there are decent, civilised people in the world.

Unfortunately for these folk the switch is often a too big one to make in the time they're with their family.
From the war ravaged front lines with their buddies, to the relative safety far away where people go about their daily lives as if nothing dramatic is happening.
Of course they love their families, who doesn't, but they also care much about their buddies left behind at the front having to continue the fight while they enjoy some relative peace and quiet.
It's a massive emotional drain both ways with divided loyalties, home and the front.
When this war is over there will be tons of folk who'll need professional emotional help.

Apparantly the question whether the people in Donbas eat their Borscht in an area under russian or ukrainian administration was worth him dying for.
If not for him then at least for those who forced him to fight.
Obviously he thought it was worth fighting and risking his life so he and his family don't have to live under the barbarian Muscovite Horde. Maybe you Russians can figure out why we in Eastern Europe were the first to send military aid to Ukraine - we spent decades being ruled by illiterate drunk Russian savages, and we're willing to help anyone fight them.
No one forced him to fight. Ukraine is united in clearing the vermin from their land.
They have Tatars, Chechens, and even Russian Nationals fighting with them to liberate Crimea back to Ukraine.
