"As an American, I can only imagine what it would be like to have a war in our backyard" It is cynical to hear this from a citizen of a country that openly supported the coup in Ukraine, and then pumps her with weapons. "Slava Ukraini!" Find out the origin of this slogan, at the end you are supposed to throw your hand up to the right, just above your head.
This is the first time that I have cried becasue of this war, when I saw that hero soldier being brought to his last rest, I'm not Ukrainian, I never knew who he was, but I know what he was, our hero the same goes for all of the brave soldiers over there, I love you, I truly do. Slava Ukraini.

In fact, the black-and-red flag is depicted in the painting "Reply of the Zaporozhian Cossacks" by _Ilja Repin_ , which was created back in 1880-1891 The black-and-red flag was never officially adopted as a symbol of the Ukranian Insurgent Army (UPA) and the Organization of Ukranian Nationalists. Russian propaganda is still _demonizing_ the red-and-black flag to portray it as the symbol of Ukranian "fascism" and "nazism" used by Ukranian "far-right-nationalists" to kill Jews and Poles.
In fact, the black-and-red flag is depicted in the painting "Reply of the Zaporozhian Cossacks" by _Ilja Repin_ , which was created back in 1880-1891
The black-and-red flag was never officially adopted as a symbol of the Ukranian Insurgent Army (UPA) and the Organization of Ukranian Nationalists. However, it was used in Ukraine's national _liberation struggle_ in the XX century
The flag was actively used during the Revolution of Dignity and the Russo-Ukranian war as a _symbol of freedom_ and the fight for an independent Ukraine. Black means Ukranian land and red - Ukrainian blood spilled for Ukranian liberty

I'm not Ukrainian. The ceremony of the fallen soldier, where they knelt to honor him was so touching. I wish the best for Ukraine. Slava Ukraina.
Did you notice the armbands that some of them were wearing? Those weren't just any regular soldiers, they were far-right ultra-nationalist fighters... They probably wanted to be filmed precisely for the good publicity.
@@ty-ix9lu I don't care if they were far right or left. They are defending their country. They are sacrificing their lives to protect their people. That's an honourable action.
Invading another country... not so much.
It's kinda like if Mexico invaded the US and the KKK joined the fight to defend America. That's great and all, but we still shouldn't admire the KKK or give them publicity.
A blatant lie. These are red-black bands, the "resistance" flag of Ukrainians, which often used in military. They literally explained in the video its meaning and what it is. Also these bands are being used as an identification of a soldier on the battlefield. Russians wear white bands, for example.

As a Taiwanese, the video hit me different. It not only moved me, but also left me heartbroken. I couldn't help but cry while watching it.
Ever since the war broke out in 2022, many people, including Taiwanese, have compared the international situation in Taiwan to that of Ukraine. It is difficult to imagine one's peaceful hometown turning into a war zone one day. The video showcases both the beauty of the country and the brutality of war.
The Ukrainian people are incredibly brave for fighting for their country. Ukraine is an amazing country, rich in culture and history. I hope that the war ends soon, and I dream of one day visiting Ukraine.

The Republic of China is a genocidal settler colonial state and Taiwan belongs to the Formosan peoples. The PRC's claim on it is completely valid, you're not a victim.
@@Enceladus2106 Yes, ROC is genocidal settler colonial state and Taiwanese people are trying to get rid of the whole "China" from both ROC and PRC.
There are lots of movement to decolonized Taiwan from "China" nowadays. You can check it.
Besides, the PRC government even don't recognize the Formosan people in many ways. (e.g. They prohibit people to call them indigenous people and claim them are part of southern Chinese branch instead of austronesia people)
I don't get your logic .
If Taiwan become part of PRC, the Formosan peoples will loss their culture and identity more quickly.

I taught English in Ukraine about 10 years ago. Love these people and this country deeply. This brought tears to my eyes but I appreciated seeing this footage. God bless.
Ukraine has changed a lot over the past 10 years. 2013 - bloody Maidan, sponsored by the USA and UK. May 2, 2014 - Ukrainian nazis burned 48 people alive in Odessa. No one has ever been held accountable for these crimes. And then the war came to Donbass. But nobody cared. Until 2022..

Dude. There is no better reporting than just going there, and being there. Don't try to be the news. Don't bring your baggage. Just hang out, and let the world show itself to you. Perhaps one of the main mistake of Ukraine in the very beginning after the acquired independence was that there was no law on the return of property stolen by the Communists, the part that has been preserved, this could lead to the repatriation of a more significant part of the diaspora. Yes, it was difficult to do both politically and from a legal point of view, but it was necessary.

As a Ukrainian who fought against Russia in 2014 it hurts me to hear "The war started in 2022". Considering you said it in Ukraine it says something. About my fellow Ukrainians :(
It did start in 2014, history doesn't care how you feel, not trying to be offensive here.
The war started in 2022. It's like there were battles before 1st of September 1939 and yet that's what we consider the start of the war.
@@nikolavideomaker Well its not so black and white, mamy historians actually argue that WWII started in 1937 with Japan's invasion of China.
I agree that the low intensity conflict in Donbas since 2014 and the full scale invasion of 2022 are not the same, but it ia more than just "his feelings" that Ukraine and Russia were engaged in hostilities since then and for many soldiers who served during that time the war was very real.
@@nikolavideomaker no. You are not correct. War started at 2014. When 3 ukrainian regions was occupied by russians troops and we had few horrible fights at Donetsk airport, debaltsevo, savur mohyla.
Only in 2014 russian militaries killed more than 3000 ukrainian civilians and more than 4000 ukrainian militaries.
And during 8 years thousands of ukrainians lived under russian occupation, like my parents for example.
@@nikolavideomaker More than 14,000 people were killed in the War in Donbas before Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine on 24 February 2022. They're 2 distinct periods of the broader Russo-Ukrainian War, but I would say the fighting was intense enough and the casualties high enough to classify the conflict beginning in 2014 as "war".
Слава нації!
