I’m watching this cause I’m thinking of demoting myself from this leadman role I’m ready skilled and wants to but my pay doesn’t match my responsibilities
In my work (Argentina) every year renovates contracts to us. There is a new coordination (manager) and he was put in the highest levels and ranks his friends and his people. These the reason because my boss wants to demotes me, what can i do?
Demotion is a good thing when it means a decrease in expectations. Where do classify lack of motivation as a reason? There's a place for people just want to perform a set of tasks and that's it.
Motivation shmotivation =). In the end, its about performance. If they are accomplishing their job (and behaving in alignment with your core values), then all is good. If not, then action needs to be taken, whether that is termination - or demotion. =)
@@peopleprocesses In other words management by fear rather than management by morale. I have observed people be demoted and keep the same responsibilities. If you are any kind of protected class as defined by the EEOC, it's time to talk to an attorney if you're demoted or suffer any kind of adverse action. Document any indication that you've been set up to fail.
@@monterreymxisfun3627 I was going more with that "viewing an employee as demotivated" is subjective. Performance is normally more objective. I wouldn't want to "discipline" someone because they are "demotivated." That would be way to subjective =). But I hear you. And agreed, as I said in the video - demotion is just as legally fraught as termination, no real difference.
