    @Burndown; Dane Paul, the mounting bracket for the intercooler water pump and fitting concept are well thought out and developed with the mounting bracket complete and basically installed in a good position.
    A. Have You considered this what area under the rear of the vehicle will be subjected to during the extensive street, road, highway-'freeway' driving during the Drag&Drive events ?
    1. certainly this area will have significant amount of debris, dust, dirt, grime, water, precipitation, stones, gravel, sand, possibly small and larger objects that will be, projected from the rear, front tires and via travel, especially more so during highway speeds.
    2. Thus, the frame rails, frame tubes, pump, intercooler tank, fuel tank and anything inside the rear area, trunk will be subjected to the various conditions during driving since it is open
    3. a simple metal box, enclosure will protect the pump, along with a simple means to unbolt or open it for access
    4. better, yet, to protect everything in the open trunk area, some simple sheet metal to protect the entire area will be useful, helpful, beneficial and necessary -> as there normally and previously is a metal sheet for the bottom of the trunk.
    5. the sheet metal can have simple bolts for easy removal for access and maintenance
    6. also some gasket material, RTV, silicone or similar can be added around the entire perimeter edges so moisture, rain, precipitation, dust, dirt, sand, etc will not enter into the area,
    7. the specific layout, shape can be done to enhance the air flow, aerodynamics such there will be aerodynamic forces pulling the rear of the vehicle downward, holding it to the road thus assisting with rear traction during driving and racing-, including a rear diffuser - similar with many racing and modern high performance vehicles.
    All The Best and Much Success in Your Quest, Health, Happiness and Well Being. 😊
    Sincerely. ☺

      Yes I may make some panels to fill in the gap in the trunk but its mostly cosmetic so ill save it for later. The pump is aluminum and should be able to get dust and small rocks bounced off it no problem. Wires are sealed and ill make sure I use a good connector that is sealed form dust and water as well for the pump. Great suggestions Newton.

      @@Burndown Dane Paul, Am glad You are aware and thinking.
      Hoping You will have Much Good Success with "Maliboom", "Twinebago", Your Pacer project car, other projects, work and especially with Your Family, Wife, son, along with Your Sponsorship, Sponsors, etc.
      All The Best.
      Notes:
      A. Your recent video showing the process with the 'hard line', aluminum fuel line with the details, process, suggestions, along with Your descriptions, etc. is among Your better posts, vlogs, presentations.
      The more You have "show and tell", often, include elapsed time video recordings, improves the posts as vlogs with Your work, development as You have done with LS Fest, RMRW, track runs, etc., driving testing, experiences, previously.
      B. Also think, visualize, consider about Your use with the 'cooler'-'ice chest' within Your 'intercooler' container, it will retain ice to solid since the contain is well insulated. Meanwhile the water to air 'intercooler' requires water to function along with the installed pump. Such, some significant amount of water will be necessary within the insulated 'cooler' to function along with ice, since the ice will not melt neary the rate and amount as normal water to air containers which are commonly metal and not insulated. You may need to attempt some practical 'testing' with various portions of water and ice within hotter temperatures, perhaps in the nearby desert as warmer conditions occur after March into April, May, June there.
      C. Did You attempt to sign up with the newer Sick Week events in the West, desert or MidWest ?

    Seems like you may be able to use a pvc bulkhead fitting or pool pump fittings or something. Like you said it's low pressure. Farm store back in the irrigation section has bulkhead and big hose barb fittings. Parker store too. If you are near one

    • @Burndown
      @Burndown  Рік тому

      I bought a bulk head but yes tractor supply or a marine store would probably have something as well. I may go look and see what thy have anyway just to check out my options.

      Yeah I may have to see about a second smaller pump for that purpose I think. We will see. Im gonna count that as a luxury right now since I have so much to do still. If I have time ill mess with that idea for sure.

    yea probably should have gone with irrigation type fittings dane , you know the black poly stuff real cheap plastic fittings with barbed ends the stuff they use on sprinklers for footy ovals and council gardens real cheap compared to an fittings same thread on the end that doesn't have the taper . a good reticulation system will more pressure thank your water to air . you gunna be able to get a couple hose clamps on that bit of radiator hose ? looks tight

    • @Burndown
      @Burndown  Рік тому +1

      @@Burndown would not hurt but i think you dont. will the water level in the esky (cooler ) be higher that top of the intercooler ?, im thinking you will need to fill it from the highest point to get air out of the system . my rod has a lay down radiator in the back took me a while to come up with a system to fill it 100 %

    You can notch the frame where the fittings and hose need to live to gain the room there. Most likely that section of frame is "C" channel and not really structural. More like a place to locate the rear of the body and the bumper. "C" notch, and boxing in that section of frame would work and be plenty strong.

    • @Burndown

      It ended up just barley fitting without having to cut the frame at all! hahah.
