Im recently recovering from having 2 brain tumors removed. AIC helped me with my recovery and there's no denial that their music touches a place deep within my soul. I Start my 1st of 34 radiation treatments in 3 weeks. Perfect timing Jerry !!! Thank you for this Masterpiece! Its just in time to soothe my mind body and soul
Look, it's been 23 years, at some point you have to realize it's ok to talk about Jerry without feeling obligated to mention Layne Staley in the same breath. This is a solo effort anyway so even if he was still around, he wouldn't be on this.
@@elbob17 your comment is pure rubbish Sir . Layne and Jerry were childhood friends who made beautiful music. I believe Jerry thinks of him often when playing certain songs and this one fits that description perfectly
@@elbob17man quit making stupid comments bro, we are all entitled to our opinions and just because you don’t agree with someone doesn’t mean you gotta be a twat waffle bro. Good god man get real.
[Verse 1] Get on down that road and fly yourself away You can't stop what's coming, the hour or the day I don't believe in a heaven or a hell Could be both in the now, baby, it's hard, hard to tell [Chorus] I ran all night to find an answer, you went away The canyons echo of your laughter in the light of day I ran all night, a call I answered, you went away The canyons echo of your laughter in the light of day [Verse 2] Laid you down, let go, a flower in the sun Rumble from above, the transfer had begun Not gonna see you or hold you close again You touched my heart when the landslide came down the mountain at the end [Chorus] I ran all night to find an answer, you went away The canyons echo of your laughter in the light of day I ran all night, a call I answered, you went away The canyons echo of your laughter in the light of day [Bridge] Light of day Then you, then you went away [Chorus] I ran all night to find an answer, you went away The canyons echo of your laughter in the light of day I ran all night, a call I answered, you went away The canyons echo of your laughter in the light of day
What bothers me is 23 years later people still feel the need to do the Layne Staley sidebar when talking about Jerry every single time. It’s unfair and tired.
This is amazing and I hate to even say it but I can close my eyes and open my ears and imagine a perfect world where Layne is still here and singing this beautiful song with Jerry.
Caught the Brighten tour in Portland May 22’ great album and tour. I want blood is business as usual with Jerry. Another solid effort and giving his fans what they need……More classics from a legend!
This song leaves me speechless when trying to find the right adjectives to describe it. It’s a masterpiece. His powerful voice combined with the lyrics, especially when he sings “then you went away” right before the guitar solo, that “away” brings chills and I immediately start crying. The depths of the meaning of this song, only Jerry could write the loss of someone and trying to find the meaning of life and death so genuinely, painfully haunting and so beautifully. I have woken up since Friday with this song in my head. 🖤🔥💫♾️
This is SO GOOD, I'm actually saving the full listening experience for the weekend with headphones and a cold beer. Just 5 seconds was a loveley treat and something to look forward to. Love from a long time fan fron Sweden.
Parts SAP and Boggy Depot, this record showcases yet another classic release from Cantrell. I hope he continues to share more of that raw pain, hatred, and rage reminiscent of Degradation Trip.
Non vedo l ora di riuscire acquistare sto album, ma le vibrazioni più profonde dentro, le provo con a job to do,spero non sia offensivo, semmai ho elencato un brano oltre natura
Dirt is a masterpiece. Boggy was very good. Degradation Trip was such an interesting and awesome twist. I want blood is the best solo record from the Riff Lord in my opinion. Thank you Jerry for the decades of great music that got me through some tough times. I believe I speak for many other fans. Keep up the great work. God Bless.
The man who never disappoints.
Exato!
That one bridge, "Light of day / Then you, then you went away," is worth more than everything the music industry has produced in the last 25 years.

Yikes! As if a single brain tumor wouldn't be bad enough. Glad you're recovering. Best wishes from an internet stranger.
💜
Jerry, Sir, you don't get enough praise for your voice. Outstanding!
Tru❗️👍
It really is
This one cut me deep. I stand by my first comments. I want blood is jerrys best solo effort. Untouchable solo record.
Such a nice song for walking in a rainy street at night.
Imagine if this one had Layne's voice harmonizing along with Jerry's, and somehow I can almost hear it.

@terribletimes01 They met when they were 19-20....not exactly "childhood" friends.
@@elbob17 Oh calm down now.

I think he is the most underrated man in the industry
Not in this house. Highly, highly rated.
💯
He is adequately rated and well respected
Jerry's voice is a time machine to the 1990's. I love it.
All the tracks in I Want Blood are great, but this one touched my heart ❤
[Verse 1]
Get on down that road and fly yourself away
You can't stop what's coming, the hour or the day
I don't believe in a heaven or a hell
Could be both in the now, baby, it's hard, hard to tell
[Chorus]
I ran all night to find an answer, you went away
The canyons echo of your laughter in the light of day
I ran all night, a call I answered, you went away
The canyons echo of your laughter in the light of day
[Verse 2]
Laid you down, let go, a flower in the sun
Rumble from above, the transfer had begun
Not gonna see you or hold you close again
You touched my heart when the landslide came down the mountain at the end
[Chorus]
I ran all night to find an answer, you went away
The canyons echo of your laughter in the light of day
I ran all night, a call I answered, you went away
The canyons echo of your laughter in the light of day
[Bridge]
Light of day
Then you, then you went away
[Chorus]
I ran all night to find an answer, you went away
The canyons echo of your laughter in the light of day
I ran all night, a call I answered, you went away
The canyons echo of your laughter in the light of day
Fantastic vocals. I bet Layne would love this.

@elbob17 i don't see how that's unfair. Layne and Jerry's voice together was legendary.

I want the visual story this song deserves 👍👍
This is amazing and I hate to even say it but I can close my eyes and open my ears and imagine a perfect world where Layne is still here and singing this beautiful song with Jerry.
