I think too though that having kids makes people grow up in a way they can't if they've never had any, that goes for that self centred outlook on life too Please dont worry about replying to every comment. It's so thoughtful of you to try, but no one wants to see you stressing over that. People open up to you as you really do come across as a great guy with a ton of compassion and empathy. That makes people love feel listened to andcared about, and people need that. You just keep bringing the awesome videos, and reply when you feel you can or want to, and we'll all be happy Thanks for being out there 🙏❤🤟🏻
Mr. LD please don't drive your self crazy answering all these comments. We don't comment for an answer but just to stay connected to this amazing community. I wish the LD family a wonderful New Year and let's all just relax just a bit. ❤️❤️
Hearing you say that you hadn’t grown up, and were like a 21 year old, made me think of the friend that I talked about a couple of videos ago. He also was so immature! When he got sober for those 7 years, he thought about others, and was an amazing friend. When he first relapsed, I tried so hard to help him, but eventually it got too scary for me, and I had to walk away from him. God I wish I hadn’t He only lived a year after relapse. My heart is still broken. To anyone reading this, please don’t ever drink again!
I'm sorry for the loss of your friend, but don't beat yourself up with thoughts of "coulda, woulda, shoulda." Your telling his story helps others even as it awakens regret and sadness in you. Your friend had seven years under his belt, then relapsed and was gone in a year. That's a stark and scary reminder to people with AUD of what can happen if one listens to the "little person on your shoulder," as LD describes it. The story of your friend is a very sad story, but therein lies its power. Your friend was the only one who could have saved himself. Don't blame yourself. But thank you for describing how people's drinking decisions also affect so many others-not just family or partner, but friends and colleagues. So many people are affected when one person chooses to drink. I hope you will find peace of mind in the New Year!!!
@rheab4054 thanks for sharing this heartfelt story. Really underscores the danger of a relapse, while here, in this community, there is no shame for those who do, just to get better in the overall scheme . 💛

Hello LD ! Great video. Your channel has grown so much. 😍 I want to wish you and your family a very Happy New Year 🎊🎆🎈 I wish you a year full of blessings. Thank you for this channel and congratulations again on your sobriety! Hugs and love 💕

I really appreciate the daily reminder for why today's not the day to pick up the bottle. It's not worth the gamble. There's too much to lose! And to trade it all just for the illusion of joy and comfort would be such a tragedy. Thank you for everything! Have a wonderful night and God bless you! 😊❤😊❤😊❤

So happy to be ending 2024 and heading into 2025 as a sober person, and congrats to you and everyone else here for doing the same! There is nothing about our old lives that are worth reliving. I've really enjoyed the quality time I've been spending with my family this holiday season; we created memories together that will actually stay with me for the rest of my life now that I am sober, as opposed to when I was drunk all the time and could barely remember a thing!! Also, the lights at the zoo look really awesome!!! Never seen anything like that before, I wish we had that here! So cool!! Loved that Koala at the end! LOL, wet wipes! 🤣😂 Thanks LD. God bless!! 🙏❤😊
Hi LD, thanks for showing us the beautiful lights, and of course our lovely fur babies the Koalas 😅. Wishing you and your family a wonderful year in 2025. If you can watch the fireworks from the beautiful Sydney Harbor Bridge on your news Channels. ❤ from Australia 🥳😁!!!!
@moth1967 word of mouth is great!! This channel has been helping me for a year now,and it's great to see so many newer ones seeing it's value !! Best to you Moth, on your journey!!
Hey man - just remember: as a channel "gets big" the comments section is more for the audience to talk with each other. No one expects a shoutout from you! Just pick 5 or 10 people to respond to each video. Limit it, let people know that, everyone will be happy with it!
Dear LD, thank you for taking us to see the zoo art/light show!!!! Really, really gorgeous!!! I don't know which animal I liked best. They were all so beautiful!! All so well done!!! Again, I'm super happy you are sober and get to enjoy these activities with your family!! What a wonderful time to spend with family!!! I love koalas, too!! They are so cute!!! Thank you!! I hope this spectacular light and art show is a preview of a spectacular New Year for you and yours!!! 😊👍❤ 😊👍❤
I was copping Z's again when this went up. I love elegant Christmas lights like what was in my video with the chicken wire balls - not the tacky stuff. Your Christmas stuff looks awesome. There is this place not to far from here called Mike's Farm where you take a mile-long hayride through the woods and the lights look a lot like yours. They have music going as well. I've got video of it but I don't watch it because I was with my old girlfriend.
17:04 I can relate to this really well. I hear it throughout AA as well. It seems that i never grew or learned how to handle life the entire time i was drinking because i was hiding from everything in the bottle.
Thanks LD! Your story today reminded me of when i got sober. After a year of being sober, it became very clear to me the emotional growth I had accomplished. I use to be so quick to anger and judgment. Now, I dont even get bothered by the big things. Whereas I use to blow a gasket over the small things.
You always talk about how you used to be as a drinker but it’s so hard to picture. It’s like you’re describing a different person from who we see in the videos. I guess you kind of are, actually. Crazy to think about.
Thanks for sharing all of this. Because we have such a drinking culture, I often wonder if most of the people who drink only for special occasions even think of alcohol as a poison. Before I listened to your story, I never knew that AUD could get this bad. I don't drink and never have and I don't really hang around people who do, so this has been very eye-opening. God bless all of you who are continuing on your sobriety journeys. There are drinkers in my family; I was just fortunate enough to detest the taste of alcohol.
Hope you’re as well as can be. Apologies for the radio silence, but I lost my mother a week last Saturday, and have been spending time with Dad helping him to sort things out. I’m now back at my own home after registering the death yesterday, and will be returning on the 7th for the funeral on the 8th Jan. A difficult time, but sending my love to everyone in this collective. I’m blanking out NY celebrations, but try and stay sober folks, as the ramifications just aren’t worth it. If you’re reading this and still drinking, don’t beat yourself up, it serves no purpose. Use the time to research and find your way to recovery from this insidious poison that is normalised, particularly at certain times of the year. Most of you here are 🇺🇸, so love from the 🇬🇧. Make 2025 YOUR year, focus on YOU, and learn to forgive yourself. Sobriety is a journey, don’t forget that. Adam x
My sincere condolences on the loss of your mother. May she rest in peace and may her memory comfort you. Thank you for your wise and timeless advice about drinking-related matters. Wishing you improved health in 2025 as well as happiness, peace of mind and prosperity! 🙏😊❤
Funny you mentioned this. I had a dream last night that LD revealed his name. His first name was Road. His last name had y's and z's in it and was unpronounceable.
Your videos are inspiring to me, just have a few ? . My doctors have recently discovered a 2×2 centimeters blood clot in the portal vien were it splits going into the liver. They are not sure how to deal with this problem. Told me after the 1st they will call me. I've known that i had cirrhosis in 2004 but with the great treatment from the Cleveland va my symptoms have been mostly under control, was diagnosed with hep-c in 1998, was wondering if you were having problems with variances in your throat, they have been tieing them off every few months. Thank you for sharing your journey, a huge inspiration to me.
The part about saying or doing embarrassing things, wow...yeah... I think about the MANY embarrassing, terrible, shameful things I've done over the years of boozing! Ughhhh!!!!
Yes more deaths from alcohol and tobacco than opioids but notice both substances are still being sold in unlimited amounts? It’s quite obvious why …both substances are still being sold with minimal restrictions. Not all have the ability to control.
It’s best to have intensive surgery at the beginning of the week. One study showed surgeons have a lot more mistakes later in the week Thurs and Friday specifically. Most likely due to the fact they are over worked by that point in the week.
I knew an old guy that said if you only relapse on New Years and Fourth of July your in pretty good shape. Don’t know how true it is but that’s what I live by. Kinda add in a couple other holidays but that’s it
My narcessistic daughter was atacking me drunk ,she hit me in my face, broke my glasses, more fights and violence ,alcoholic parents .the other grandmother died of liverdesease when she was 58 years old. Both grandfathers alcoholic, sun in law alcoholic. I left the famely, i was destroied about theire behaviour. I was in peace without my drunk famely this Cristmas, and I had no alcohol, i dont like alcohol, to much miserabele expierience with drunk narcessistic people 😢
No need to reply to this. You could spend all day replying to comments. But just wanted to say i relate a lot to doing anything to get out of family events when i was drinking. I made up every excuse not to do things with my ex and the kids because it interfered with how i wanted to drink. I didnt go trick or treating with them because i wanted to get drunk at home and i did. My ex always said alcohol was first in my life, before her or the kids. And unfortunately, she was right. Alcohol came first in my life. Sad and oretty disgusting. I dont want to be that way anymore. 3 weeks sober tomorrow... Yet again. Had 3 weeks many times before. I am hopeful that this time i am working a program and using the tools at my disposal enough for it to stick. Drinking for me is life or death, the way i drink.
Hey wild Idaho!!!! Man.... we are all so similar in our drinking, it's crazy! Congratulations on 3 weeks!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉 that's so awesome! You have this, i know you do!!! Keep me posted on how you are doing! God bless❤❤❤❤
@@liverdisease-qb6rkexactly. I think that's why alcoholics sharing with each other helps so much. I know I can relate on some level to almost every alcoholic or addict I talk with. Some more than others but every one has something I can relate to. Like, yep I'm that way too
Dude, please, don’t hurt yourself--nice thought, but drinking has been socially acceptable for thousands of years (except for about 100 years ago)-then add $$$$$- you know how many kids I helped put thru college??? Every bar owner that I patronized their establishment’s kids??? Makes ya think!!!

Most of you here are 🇺🇸, so love from the 🇬🇧.
Make 2025 YOUR year, focus on YOU, and learn to forgive yourself.
Sobriety is a journey, don’t forget that.

My sincere condolences on the loss of your mother. May she rest in peace and may her memory comfort you. Thank you for your wise and timeless advice about drinking-related matters. Wishing you improved health in 2025 as well as happiness, peace of mind and prosperity! 🙏😊❤
❤ and 🙏!!!
Love you so much LD. I hope one day we can learn your name. You look like a John or Jason to me. ❤
Funny you mentioned this. I had a dream last night that LD revealed his name. His first name was Road. His last name had y's and z's in it and was unpronounceable.
Beautiful video 🎉🎉
Instead of drinking, there you are spending quality time with your family. Love your channel, LD. Please do not respond!
Don't worry about comments 💯💕
The part about saying or doing embarrassing things, wow...yeah... I think about the MANY embarrassing, terrible, shameful things I've done over the years of boozing! Ughhhh!!!!
You're not alone
Yes more deaths from alcohol and tobacco than opioids but notice both substances are still being sold in unlimited amounts?
It’s quite obvious why …both substances are still being sold with minimal restrictions.
Not all have the ability to control.
It’s best to have intensive surgery at the beginning of the week. One study showed surgeons have a lot more mistakes later in the week Thurs and Friday specifically. Most likely due to the fact they are over worked by that point in the week.
thanj you
You're welcome! God bless❤❤❤❤

25:50 that sounded so scary!!
Congratulations on three weeks!! Keep at it!! You can do it!!
Like, yep I'm that way too
Please don't wear yourself out.
I'm struggling with Kratom right now, its always something!
Ld you don’t ever have to feel like you have to reply to my comments or any other . We just throwing our 2 cents out there .
lol!!! What are you going to do when you have over 1,000 or more comments on here??
What’s the future plans for you man? I mean are you going to get a transplant or have you already?
Dude, please, don’t hurt yourself--nice thought, but drinking has been socially acceptable for thousands of years (except for about 100 years ago)-then add $$$$$- you know how many kids I helped put thru college??? Every bar owner that I patronized their establishment’s kids??? Makes ya think!!!
