@@JoeCanon17 it’s a little complex possibly. As a kid I was only 2 days old and got jaundice in the hospital. At one point the told my mother to not expect me to make it till morning. So that might be a sign to a genetic weakness or just random chance. Possibly lasting issues? But, as I was always, and still be am for now, heavy maxing out at 2 lbs shy of 400 excessive weight has always been an issues. If I had to take a guess built on a lot of self reflection and research I honestly think it’s just a perfect storm of several overlapping neurological issues leading into constant over eating and eating really low grade high calorie foods that are far to processed and containing way too much high fructose corn syrup. I was warned about 20 years ago of fatty liver but being mid 20s and having the doctors mention it as a “well no duh your fat so of course and now just lose weight” without them stressing the situation and myself not doing fallow up research is the issue. I just wanted to chime in... I,too, was doing the exact same things you were...hiding bottles, waking up taking shots and beers before, during and after work non stop. Didnt help that i was hugely involved in the music industry and drinking with rock stars, spinning in nightclubs where all of this was very accessible to alcohol. It progressed since age 21 when i started drinking. Seems like majority of my work was around alcohol and now im paying that price. Finally caught up to me in 2022. Im going through the process now of tests, procedures and getting ready to head to Nashville for discussion for tips and then getting on a transplant list. Even though my melb score is low, they still want to bring me in. I honestly want,as we all do,to be able to battle this and win as i still feel like i have unfinished things here. Not to mention,my family needs me around! Lol I had quit the drinking only to feel so much better. Have my color back and dont have to go in much for a paracentisis anymore. I do pray and definitely will shoot a prayer your way. Im glad i found your videos as they dont seem as depressing as many i have watched. You seem alot like me and do your best to keep your head up? Keep doing so and keep as active as you can. I swore,im NOT going down witout a fight and you dont either, bro! Anytime you wanna bounce info, get in touch with me. Im on fb. And eviltwin487@gmail.com

I live in Northorn Ontario. My brother is stage 4 liver cirrosis and Hepatocellular ca. Long story but I have lost my ex husband, my partner of 13 years of liver cancer. and father of cirrhosis. Now my own brother. You speak very well of this issue. Number one is learn to quit before it's too late. Thanks for helping people put their glass down for good.
Two of my siblings have ALD. one literally had his transplant earlier tonight. He's in ICU now hopefully on the way to recovery. I completely understand having so many people you love affected by alcoholism. ❤
I am happy your family is still with you through all you put them through, I know because I did the same thing and my wife and boys are still here❤, a true blessing that I still have them, don't know that I deserve it but I am sure grateful!
Your story is nearly identical to my son who passed away on 11/27/23. He never got pancreatatitis that I know of, but was severely obese and had uncontrolled diabetes. He was 40 years old. I know all the terminology. It's good you are on task with this. My son got sick and tired of doctors and procedures. He was to obese and weak for transplant. He ended up with septic shock and died. Best wishes to you.
@@investigativeoutcomes9343 Well, that is a ver brave thing that he did, because it is very expensive to do treatment for all of those ailments and co-morbidities. We fought with my Mom on all of those issues, and it has drained her savings account. We had to sell everything she had, and now, we are also in debt -- more like $125,000 ourselves. Medical bills are just too much, and we're gonna have to file bankruptcy. I hope we don't lose our house because it's half-paid off. But, it's so easy to go into great debt, if you don't have really good insurance -- and, even if you do -- like my Mom's, they still charge you more than you can ever pay in many a life-time. Also, let me say -- sorry for your loss.
12/03/2024. My husband’s brother just passed 11/13/2024 from his alcoholism. He died alone at his house. I found him in his bedroom in a pool of blood, naked and laying on his side. I saw him there, his daughter would not go inside so I did. It was the saddest thing i have ever seen. It broke my heart. We got him into rehab twice right before he died. But as soon as he would dry out he would leave. He stayed a month each time and eventually would go back to drinking. God bless you son, you are truly a fighter. I wish Hugh would have tried to save himself. 🙏
It’s incredible to hear your story. And it’s incredible how resilient the human body is. it blows my mind that you’re still here and able to talk about this

We stand with you may God's strength keep you during all this process. I love the mug your mom is wonderful and I would definitely like to get in the raffle or buy one eventually from you. God Bless all your family and bring peace and comfort through the healing process.
I have seen folks in your comments who have lived a lot longer than 10 years with liver disease and all of it's complications. I'm like you, I'd prefer not to have a transplant, there are just so many complications. I didn't know varices ever got smaller, that is just so fascinating. I honestly feel like my life could end anytime, considering all that can happen to people. I mean, we all hope it will be longer, but maybe you can maybe not think about that part? Big hugs to you!
Thank you so much! Yeah.... it's a lot. Honestly. I would rather see someone who didn't waste their liver drinking it away get one rather than I. It's not fair for me to get one. They don't come around that often... Thank you again! God bless

I’d like to be on the raffle too. I am a coffee-holic and collect mugs 😊. Memento is a good movie I agree. I really loved The Gentlemen 😊. Take care and Bless you 💚💚💚💚💚
I’m watching every video even though I rarely comment. The enabler one hit close to home for me. I sometimes bought wine for my husband when it was on sale rationalizing that he would buy it himself and pay full price rather than buying it on sale. Also he didn’t know how to open the bottles and he would talk me into doing it. One time I said no and he got the cork stuck trying and was going to throw the $53 bottle of wine away so I took over and “saved” most of it. So far I’m happy to report he’s cut way back to one day from his old habit of four days a week! I’m 37 days today and he was joking about drinking a $500 bottle today and I had no desire for it! Regarding a liver transplant, I’m not sure if everyone is familiar with a domino transplant but sometimes they do those and they are able to save two people. It’s available in specific cases. My niece has a very rare genetic disease and she was able to get a liver transplant which saved her and her liver was given to someone else without giving the 2nd person the problem she had which was inability to digest 3 specific amino acids. I’m not sure how common that type of transplant is but I think it’s amazing how they can do that. Thank you so much for every video. You are helping so many of us! God bless you.
Thank you so much for watching every video! That's so cool! I'm glad to hear that your husband has cut back k too! Thank you for sharing that! Also, congratulations on 37 days! You have got this!!!! Thank you for everything! God blesz

My dad got a new liver at piedmont hospital in Atlanta. Wonderful experience during and after. We were very lucky to receive the liver after 9 months on the waiting list. It’s been twelve years since then. He is alive and well at 68 years old. We still talk to the donor family. Now he is on their yearly calendar and featured in their pamphlets. Wonderful success story. We were lucky that he was able to stop drinking completely, do the courses and therapy. That really helped move him up the list. It was touch and go at the end but God pulled us through.

I'm sorry to hear all this, man. I myself also have liver disease with an enlarged spleen. I also get up about 5 times a night to pee at 40 years old with bone pain. Doctors just brush me off and don't even want to deal with me. Did you get frequent urination also? I guess unfortunately we pay for the fun that we have while young. The worst part is just a beer or 2 wouldn't hurt, and we are beyond that, so we can't even have one to relax. I'm paying for the hard liquor i used to drink on the occasional weekend. I think when I damaged it, it was to drink away my pain of a lost relationship. Take care, man, and I hope you turn around and recover 100%

God bless you. 70 percent of people have liver problems and don’t know it. A few yrs ago I checked myself into the hospital because I had jaundice and ascites. Luckily I didn’t have to get drained. I've watched most of your videos, and they've been incredibly helpful. They feel therapeutic in the sense that they give answers to many questions, and they're supportive to those who are worried or struggling.
As a Nurse this breaks my heart ❤prayers to you
He did it to himself deliberately. What do people expect to happen when they abuse their bodies? Zero consequences?
@@Peekaboo-Kitty seriously??? WTH kind of comment is that? I hope you or no one in your family or someone you know ends up with a addiction, everyone makes mistakes, but unfortunately this one will not let him live, so there is no reason for you to be cruel on top of it. I’m a Nurse and my job is NOT TO JUDGE!!!! That’s for God to do, but my job is to take care of everyone equally without JUDGMENT!!!! Maybe you should try that.
@@Peekaboo-Kitty Thankfully, God doesn't look at it that way. With repentance and asking for His help, He doesn't say "no" because you did it to yourself. I'm so grateful for His mercy!
I'm interested in the mug. I am suffering with pancreatitis and NAFLD. I was level 1 but went up to a boarderline 1-2. I'm having trouble with my energy level, fibromyalgia, celiac and cheonic back pain from previous sergeries and ruptured discs. My bloodwork is always wonky. I try to keep a sense of humor up. Your helping me a lot by not feeling alone in this. I wish you well.
My man...i hope everything gets healthy enough so that you can get a transplant!!!!! Your family and kids need you so much and you have helped so many people.....im praying
Thank you man! You are too kind! God bless
Thank you for sharing so much about your life.🙏 I’m sure I’m not alone in saying how much your channel is helpful to those of us on our journeys of sobriety.
The mug is awesome! Please count me in!
Thank you! And I have you down! God bless
Sorry 😢for what you have gone through and are going through. My prayers 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Thanks dude. Similarly diagnosed. It’s comforting knowing I’m not alone.
Your Mom is amazing! Love her heart! ❤
Thank you so much!❤ God bless
Put me in raffle. Kyle s. Keep your head up. I have similar problems. Diet is key to maximizing life
I am happy your family is still with you through all you put them through, I know because I did the same thing and my wife and boys are still here❤, a true blessing that I still have them, don't know that I deserve it but I am sure grateful!
May you find comfort young man. God bless you honey, you and yours! Sending love to you. ❤
You are a brave young man. I hope you regain your health. Don’t give up.
There is no cure for Liver Cirrhosis. Liver Cirrhosis is a Death sentence.
@investigativeoutcomes9343 so sorry for your loss. May God give you peace.
I found
him in his bedroom in a pool of blood, naked and laying on his side.
And it’s incredible how resilient the human body is. it blows my mind that you’re still here and able to talk about this
Loved the cup, would like to be in on the raffle. Your mother is very talented. Wish you luck on your journey. Hopefully, things will look up for you. You are providing a great service to a lot of people.
Thank you so much! I have you down! God bless
Oh my goodness I am so sorry you have been through so much. I definitely believe God has kept you here, and I am praying for your healing. I believe in miracles. I pray we both have a healing and a good praise report about our livers my varices are in my esophagus and intestine a few. Also I pray the pancreatitis heals, and your spleen. We stand with you may God's strength keep you during all this process. I love the mug your mom is wonderful and I would definitely like to get in the raffle or buy one eventually from you. God Bless all your family and bring peace and comfort through the healing process.
Thank you so much! I will let you all know as soon as they are ready for sale! God blesz
Roger Garcia love the channel man your a strong human being and so optimistic much respenct
God bless
U are great
Hi LD! Thanks for the update. I hope your varices and clots heal along with your pancreas, so your liver can remain stable. Those mugs are awesome, you should sell some merch! I’d like to be on the raffle too. I am a coffee-holic and collect mugs 😊. Memento is a good movie I agree. I really loved The Gentlemen 😊. Take care and Bless you 💚💚💚💚💚
Thank you mona! I have you down! Thank you so much for saying that! I will be finding out really soon how I'm doing. God bless
God blesz
My oldest brother just had his transplant today. ALD. Prayers to everyone affected by liver disease regardless of the cause. ❤
I am so happy for you and your brother! Thank you so much for the prayers for everyone! Keep.me posted on how your brother is doing please. I hope that he has a full recovery and he gets back to 100 percent soon! God bless 😊 🙌 🙏 ❤️
@liverdisease-qb6rk he is doing amazing! Surgery was 9 hours. He was out of ICU in less than 24. He is already home. He literally had the surgery last Thursday. It's Tuesday. There is always hope! Now he just needs to stay well. Thank you for your reply and we have to keep warning people about the dangers of drinking ❤️
@@r.bishop1127how's he doing now?
@vapor4 amazing! Thanks. Don't give up hope and if you need to be listed please get listed. There are a lot of living donors too. And I know people that did get listed and no longer needed transplant. They are not 100% but managing pretty healthy lives.
Love the mug. I always learn something from your videos.and appreciate you sharing. It's not easy to talk openly and honestly about your struggles. Take care.
Thank you so much! I'm glad that you learn something from these videos! That's really cool! God bless
God bless you brother

My dr put me on beta blockers for varices. When i had my transplant a few years later they were gone. Check into that. Had a life saving transplant in 2014. Celebrating 10 year liverversary in october.
Congratulations!!!
Love the mug. If you or your Mom ever get around to selling merch or art I would definitely buy something to support you. Sounds like you have a health great care team. Keeping you in my prayers🙏
Thank you so much! I will definitely have some mugs here in the next week or so. I should be able to get shirts done soon too. I really appreciate you! God bless
Thank you for making these videos. Really gives me some hope for my future with liver disease. Take care Man

I just found this channel. I living this right now. The doctors said for me to get my life in order because time is running out. They gave me less than 6 months
Less than 6 months if you don’t stop drinking or 6
months left to live?
I hope you quit drinking. Best of luck!! Keep hope!!!

There are SO many people whose health improves despite doctors’ dire predictions.

Hey man, I’ve been having multiple symptoms to suggest liver failure for months following alcohol abuse (I’ve been clean since November) my GP is being useless so I’m going to pay to see a hepatologist soon and I’m absolutely terrified but watching some of your videos has made me feel a little better because they’ve reminded me I’m not alone ❤️
Great video! Praying you heal and the next MRI shows improvement. And awesome cup! Put me on the list brother!
Well done you!, much respect from me.
I wish my youngest brother would have done what you're doing now, we lost him on his 61st birthday, Dec 2023, his death was very slow and painful to watch.

What stage were you?
Also, I love the mug. I would rather you send it somewhere more locally to you! When you come out with some merch I would love to support you and your channel. You should think about making hats with the logo as well! Your mom and son did a great job creating it!
Hi I'm Amy and I have cirrhosis too. I'm decompensated now and doc said 1 to 3 years left....this was jul of 2022. I found your story very informative. I am also interested in your mug. Ty
I will put you down. I am so sorry. I know how hard it can be to have no idea. It's just so scary. I live everyday like it's my last one now. Each time I have ended up in the hospital sick, I had no warning. Just woke up one day, didn't feel good and it just got worse. I hope that you are feeling ok today. Thank you! God blesz
You've been through so much, but your strength of spirit & mind really shine through. You have really found your purpose in this channel - you are a natural communicator and are helping so many people. I pray that March 5th will go well and all the other tests etc.. that you have coming up!
Your son and mum are very talented and it's great they're creating merch for your channel. I love the cup, but won't ask you to put me in the raffle as I'm in France. But I'll order some merch when it's up & running. Big hugs and keep the faith my friend 🤗
Thank you so much Becky! I'm going to put you down anyway! God blesz
Bro keep your head up...
Thank you! God bless
Love your videos. Wishing you much healing!
God bless you. 70 percent of people have liver problems and don’t know it. A few yrs ago I checked myself into the hospital because I had jaundice and ascites. Luckily I didn’t have to get drained. I take spironolactone and furosemide. I will probably have to be on these meds for the rest of my life. I have varices but luckily my veins are small. I also have to have mris done every 6 months because I have lesions on my liver that are on the verge of cancerous. Thank you for your videos. God bless.
Praying for you man from SC!
Where about? Thank you! God bless
I've watched most of your videos, and they've been incredibly helpful. They feel therapeutic in the sense that they give answers to many questions, and they're supportive to those who are worried or struggling. It's easy to take this kind of info from someone who you can sense is kind and genuine.
I'm going to add my name in for the raffle, but I would also like to suggest that you sell them! Maybe get an idea as to how many people are interested and decide from there! It may not bring in a ton of money, but the money could go toward activities with your family or whatever you choose! There aren't many ways that we can give back except to simply say thank you and to let you know that we're really wishing for the best for you! Even if I won one for free, I would still buy one just to reciprocate the support. God bless 😊
You are so nice!!! Thank you so much! That means so much to me! I will definitely sell some mugs and some shirts, maybe hoodies as well! I will talk about it soon! Thank you for saying I have helped! That's all I have ever wanted to do. God bless😊
I know you had to get somewhat honest to get all those pro's to give you the time of day. Something tells me you're going to get through this even though your condition is serious as heck. You're doing the right thing with this channel. Godspeed
Thank you!!!
I'm watching all your videos. My sister-in-law has cirrohis. She is waiting here, we're near Toronto. She has been going through all the testing. Her lungs aren't so great. I find you very interesting and pray that you can have healing.

Love the mug and would like to buy one! I recommend Gran Turino - we watched it on Netflix a while back. You sure got my attention when you mentioned your filling, my dear I hear ya and feel ya! Lost fillings, teeth chipped and once the fillings fell out those teeth started to break. Not fun. I drink a cup of milk a day plus a calcium with d3 and k2 - not sure if that helps but I’m sticking to it. Keep up the great videos, I really appreciate you doing them. 😊

Hey LD hope you’re having a better day. You definitely seemed it today 😃. Thank you for the video and explaining the reasons why you’re not on the donor list. Im so glad that the second surgery was successful. I love the mug and definitely will support you when the merch is ready for sale. You have no idea how grateful I am that I came across your videos back in December. I was in a weird place, don’t consider myself an alcoholic but was on that path as I was drinking more than I would like. I just made the 31 day mark. Woot woot!! Something about your story clicked for me. Keep doing what you’re doing…it really makes a difference. I will forever be grateful to you LD and hope that you continue to heal. Everyday is a blessing and you’re making the most of it…which is the most important thing. Like the Tim McGraw song says live like you were dying. Check it out if you’ve never heard it.
Thank you! I'm so happy for you!!! 31 days is super! I will check out that song, never heard it before. Thank you for everything!God bless

Yes sir! Got you down! Thank you! God bless
My LO has an MRI done every 3 months also to watch a lesion on her liver but to small to biopsy. Which hopefully it’s not HC! Have you been through the evaluation for transplantation yet? They denied my LO in august as her meld was 27 then now it’s 15 as of February. Transplant team said no but insurance covered 💯
I am so very interested in getting a cup. Your mother did such a nice job. Seems like there is quite a bit of talent in your family.
Thank you! They will be ready very soon! Thank you! I will have them on my website. I already have one, just haven't finished it yet. Thank you! God bless
