I managed to get it 20% off here in uk from 640, it is gorgeous. At night, it is a bit difficult to see the time, but not too bad, unless you have nearby a uv torch, then the lume is very bright considering how small the markers are and in a complete dark room last all night. The watch is not too heavy and the bracelet is real really good quality. The clasps has a significant reduced gap when comparing to the new Alpinist (deep lake),which had about 2mm gap, this one seats almost flush with the bracelet. Really good AR coating too
@@watchdepotAU - to be honest I prioritize well-centered stop-watch hands (on chronos), and perfectly aligned dates in their windows - the actual one I found checked out perfectly but when I looked at others before and after buying _the_ one I bought (looking in several ‘Lumine’ and ‘0101’ shopping centers), it’s seemingly quite rare that the stop-watch is centered perfectly on the twelve marker, there’s invariably misalignment (many of ‘em actually hit the side of the marker). I got lucky . . . Ergo I’m resolved to never use the stopwatch lest the hand doesn’t rotate back to hit that perfect position 😅 But that dark olive green dial is something else . . . Plus the 39mm size and the wonderful robust thickness of it, it’s a literally perfect thing for its price range. And in spite of the complaints about it I personally like the ‘sunken’ look of the date in its window at four - it affords the aesthetic of the piece a more ‘tactical’ look somehow (although if the thing is even a fraction out of alignment it _would_ be that much harder to read, ergo those complaints are otherwise perfectly justifiable).
My only trouble with this one is how small the elapsed minute register is. I wish it was larger or just 30 mins so you could read it more easily. Otherwise love this.
Got one for coming night ops and prolonged operations like for years. AR coating is important, the tiny but many lubrite marks help in most accurate sychro at field. Anti magnetism is important too due to the heat generating equipment. Basically, this is a war watch. Hahahahaha... ... Looks good in daytime too. Seiko watches are known for toughness, accuracies even in space and quality when it comes to temperature fluctuations... ... The solar factor helps for field operations, without needing to change batteries. Wonderful. Black series is great for night ops. You don't even see the metal shine due to the AR coating. Yeeeah~ Considering the events down the road, at least for the Straits... ... this has become a necessity for me. Been watching the watch market, I will bet all the pro opts chaps will target this watch too. Hahahahahaha... ... Couple with anti-thermal suits and gears, wow... ... ... It also means 'burning' is coming to my region... ... soon enough. Marks the need to move to Europe as planned decades ago.
Great vid, really enjoyed that, I’ll subscribe 👍🏻 This watch is not my normal style as I’m a dive and field watch man but I was looking for a smaller Seiko chrono and this came up so I went to UA-cam for a good look, I love it and may pull the trigger and get it, cheers mate 👍🏻
@@watchdepotAU I like this watch only because it's murdered out. And Seiko does one of the best PVD/DLC finishes from my experience. Maybe the indices aren't as offensive in real life. Need to see it first I guess. The price is shocking though, it's a bloody Seiko quartz, fuuuuuuu.
man, I love the way this looks!!
So do we!

Thanks for that review mate 👍🏻
What shop/site did you get it in here in the U.K.?
Great watch, for both casual and formal..
The dark olive dial in very subtle contrast to the black matte case / band is what sold me, glad I got mine.
Enjoy your new watch mate!

Does this get scratched easily?
I GOT IT! Love at first sight…

Nice watch. Does it have a sapphire crystal? Does it have AR coating? Perhaps this should have been mentioned.
Can you state your wrist size? I'm trying to get a feel of how it would be on my own wrist before ordering. Thanks

I ordered one but returned it. It just felt too small for me. Nice watch though
would the black with coating be super finger-printy?
Not as bad as you might think, however it does leave some smudges
I'd be great if it wasn't for the green lume.
You could always go for the SSC819P, however no black case or bracelet on that one

I was about to pull the trigger, then the lume part came up. It was almost perfect. 🤷♂️🤦♂️
Good
If that watch was 42-44 mm i would buy 1💯💯💯

Pretty sure sunlight is all natural. 😂
