I've started making myself 1930s-style bras (self-drafted) and your observations on what it's like to wear them are spot on for my own experiences, too! More supportive with movement yet feeling more like not wearing a bra - exactly. The fact that you can make them out of natural fibre definitely helps with that feeling, too!
It’s so awesome that you’ve provided this pattern for free. Thank you so much. I’m looking forward to trying it out. It’s also super cool to see your construction process as well ❤
First of all, I am happy that this pattern is for a bigger bust size as I’m currently at a 32E/30F 😂 secondly I am rooting for you 💜 you still sound a bit uncomfortable in front of the camera but it is so heartwarming that you still want to take all of us on this journey with you and are willing to share your experience and knowledge with others 💜 Thank you so much 🫶
Serious Question- For the less flexible folks, How easy would it be to adapt this to being a front closure style? or even side closure? Having worked with the pattern, which in your opinion would be better? The cup size for me seems to be about spot on, though I may have to expand the band, Definitely going to be in the "Make" now pile. I find most bras today to be to "Stuffy"( not sure that's the right word, but close enough) because where I can find bras close to my size, they have so many plastic-y fabrics- polyester, etc. They just don't breathe well like natural fibers would.
Yep I agree about modern bras also with them the underwire needs to fit exactly to be comfortable, this style is a lot more flexible. I'd do a front closure for sure! With a hook and eye tape I think it'd work really well. I think I'll try that actually on my next one 😊
Awesome. That bra appears to offer as much support as a sports bra. I like the wide back band. I cannot understand companies that made bras in D, or bigger with a measly litte two hook back band fastener. How is that supposed to anchor a pair of D's?

That too for sure!

Thank you so much for sharing this. I have a dress and slip already and a bra for both will add to the whole look.

I have been looking for a long line bra for an A cup. As I get older, back support is needed.
I'd recommend looking at mrs depew patterns, she has some beautiful vintage bra patterns that work well for smaller cup sizes 😊
@@sewthroughtime thank you🙂
And these construction notes work with most bras of this era 😊 no matter what pattern you end up using
@@sewthroughtime than you. I will look into it.
Super cute! Thank you so much for the pattern

😊👏👏👏👏👏
I wouldn't want to wear that under a knit top.....strange front shape.
Can we make the bouncing part be in every video? cause i'd like to vote for the bouncing part being in every video
