    Woah! Fantastic piano plug-in! I love Keyscape but mainly use the Wing Tack, Upright Piano and Toy Pianos for characterful lines. But Noire is in a class of its own.
    Love the particle part really as well. Wonderful for ambient and film stuff.

    Is it just me or does this blow away the Keyscape C7? For the first time in years I'm actually impressed by something NI did! Thanks for the nice demo, Woody!

    • @zenyklayi8748
      @zenyklayi8748 5 років тому +3

      Well to be fair Keyscape´s C7 is not a top noch sampled piano it doesnt even have proper release samples..Top pianos (at least for classical) are still VI Labs Ravenscroft, Garritan CFX, Ivory II, maybe also the VSL CFX just to name a few that absolutely make Keyscape sound like a joke.The electric pianos of Keyscape are gems! But the C7 is so limited in a lot of ways.

    • @JBrm
      @JBrm 5 років тому +1

      @@zenyklayi8748 I agree, Keyscape's Wurlitzer 140B makes my heart melt. I hardly play the C7 at all. What's most interesting for me is that the Ravenscroft has by far the smallest sample library of all the "big names". Especially the VSL grand pianos in comparison reside in the 80-100 GB range while Ravenscroft states somewhat around 5-6 gigs on their homepage.

    • @zenyklayi8748
      @zenyklayi8748 5 років тому +1

      @@JBrm Yes, i also love that Wurli and the CP80 also, regarding the small footprint of the Ravenscroft that proves that you dont need those huge libraries or vst´s to have an almost perfect Piano VST.But for me personally , the Garritan CFX is the best one, i even like the playability more in the garritan CFX than in Pianoteq, i cant stand the artificial sound of Pianoteq.When i sit on my Kawai Digital piano and listen to the Garritan CFX i get inspired every single time.(I own Keyscape, Ravenscroft ,Pianoteq Stage and Garritan CFX).

    • @sebastienkeys
      @sebastienkeys 5 років тому +2

      I have all native instruments pianos, I really like how the grandeur sounds, but the Keyscape's C7 sound much better when you play chords than the grandeur, actually I've never heard any kontakt piano sound as good as keyscape when you play chords, I don't know why, the grandeur sounds great when you play singles notes, but when you play a chord, there's something wrong.

    Particles seams to use resonnance harmonics, like as according manualy, triplet stings of a real piano that you hear as harmonic resonnance, there used to move discret strings particles. The Yamaha here has no wood cover so the artist ear these Harmonics, and he lives with them!.... So very fine idea from Native to have upload them as a modular effect!

    • @patriciaoudart1508
      @patriciaoudart1508 5 років тому

      Les particules semblent utiliser la résonance harmoniques des cordes voisines, comme on peut l'entendre quand on accorde manuellement un piano véritable, cela m'est arrivé par le passé, et c'est un vrai plaisir sur un piano de tourner très légèrement une clé et entendre se développer ces harmoniques! Je suppose que l'idée vient de là? D'ailleurs dans le mail que m'a envoyé NATIVE aujourd'hui, ils expliquent que l'intérêt de ce piano Yamaha réside dans l'accordage très particulier qu'a souhaité ce musicien, et je le comprends comme ça, parce que j'ai toujours été envoutée moi-même par la richesse des désaccordages infimes des triplettes ou des doubles cordes qui font entrer dans un monde magique!. Il me semble que Keith Jarret faisait procéder de la sorte pour préparer son piano. En tout cas, je vais me procurer la démo, je viens de recevoir aujourd'hui mon clavier STUDIOLOGIC SL88, clavier FATAR studio, Ce Plugin me plaît beaucoup. J'ai un Jupiter 50 avec des pianos natural sound, mais ici, le son est juste ce que je recherche, une richesse incroyable. J'aimais déjà beaucoup le Unacord, mais si en plus il est livré avec? Le Unacord, c'est un peu le principe inverse, une écoute des harmoniques des cordes voisines à partir d'une seule vibration qui se développe!

    Wow, amazing instrument! Beautiful, simply, beautiful. I'm so glad that the majors like NI are including you for reviews. (I'm nuts about almost everything NI do.) I trust your presentations and love your style. And, of course, you can't lose with Elton's music. :) Saw him live in 1974, YBR, and will never forget it. That particle engine thingy is a "salesman's patch," meaning a wow patch for selling an instrument. Even owning Keyscape, I would consider adding Noire to my arsenal. When you opened with, "Who's the most famous Yamaha ..." my very first thought was, "Well, not Elton, he's Baldwin." Oops. Maybe he used to be Baldwin? Anyway, another wonderful review, of a very wonderful plugin, Woody. Kudos.

      Usually the true colours of a piano library come out when you play a fast paced song with sudden switch to a slow paced one. The libraries that can't handle that "too much reverb" when we are playing a fast paced song, they just aren't meant to be played like that, which means? They aren't versatile. I feel Garritan's CFX is still the best out there, emotional songs, pop, rock, you name it. It sounds astonishing with amazing versatility. I've tried keyscape, I love the cinematic preset and also the Dark Score preset. They're lovely for creating emotional tracks. :)
      The noire does look good to me and looking forward to more reviews of this on UA-cam.

    • @kaisfp
      @kaisfp Рік тому

      I love Garritan but only for stuff like Ghibli Studio piano stuff and such, I can't use it for pop because hearing the big size studio when playing longer notes bothers my ears too much.
      If you play some staccato short note atuff, some pop or funk or even some shorter note rock riffs, they sound good, but when you start playing with pedal, especially longer chords, you will hear the big size studio, and it will feel like you are playing a piano that switches places/rooms when playing shorter notes VS playing long sustain chords. That's a no-no to my ears at least, but for big hall piano sound Garritan CFX is one of the best that is still relatively reasonably priced (relative to the VSL pianos prices).

    Super great demo as usual Woody. You play so smoothly, a touch that many are missing. I honestly think the Ravenscroft 275 has met its match, or if you ask me, the R275 and the Noire are all you need piano-wise. This may sound crazy but the Noire to me sounds better when you use the MODX6 compared the the NI keyboard! Last, I'm still cracking up over the 30-second segment starting at 31:33. ;-D

    Una Corda was in actual fact a pedal effect on early prototype grand pianos that pulled the hammers right to the side so they would only impact one of the wires in both the triple and double wired notes. Duo Corda is now a common pedal in grand piano lyres that do the same thing but only reduce the triples to two and I think the doubles in mid range to one.

    Hello, thank you for the demo. Some questions, at the beginning I see that you record under cubase, is the piano or 3 tracks at the same time, if yes how to have 3 different sounds that I seem to hear? On the piano itself, is not it annoying not to have a heavy keyboard, it seems that you use a MODX 7 if I see well? Finally, what advice to amplify and have a good sound for the piano, monitoring speakers or something else? if not indiscreet what are you using and did not you add a plugin compressor or other for the demo? thank you for everything . and congratulations again.
