You know this is like Something On the news Where the Driver Cleans all of it up Which takes 5 minutes Then dumps It then cleans it up And then has to reboot his And then has to reboot his truck!, This is Definitely something out of the blue From the blue Crew🌊📽🇺🇸♻
Huge respect for this driver. Whatever anyone thinks of him, he’s came from out of state to do what he can to help out in this absolutely horrible situation. Hope they reach an agreement on this soon but at this point every party in this has dug their own grave in my opinion. No need to get into that junk. Just nice to finally see a video of the strike mitigation measures they are trying to get working. Excellent work
Thanks! Hopefully both parties can get this solved asap. Chula Vista really ripped Republic a new one last night during the council meeting so hopefully both parties will come back to the table.
A lot of respect and admiration to you Sir!! You are an amazing worker! Your company is lucky to have you. How much does this job pay as of March 2023? Great video!
Unless the customer comes out with 💵💵💵💵 I’ll tell the customer ( drop it on the ground I’ll pick it up and have ur area clean in no time😂 no hand shakes ( there’s spotters out there watching me)
It should be 2 workers, it is too much work for a single person, now I understand why there is a strike, even if they pay 1 well, they will soon end up with a damaged back, hopefully the corresponding authorities will form teams of 2
Awesome video! I’ve always found the whole “blue crew” and “green team” concept really cool, and after talking to a few local guys who have gone around the country helping out, I think it’s cool to finally see a video, even though it’s just commercial collection. Cool to see an out of state driver using equipment probably foreign to him, getting the job done, and helping with the backlog. Strike or not, Corporate greed or not, the trash has to get picked up for health reasons, and let anybody call it whatever they’d like, but the man is making a living for his family, while on a vacation at the same time, lol. Great job!
I think you put it as diplomatically as possible! And yeah, don't know exactly what runs in Alabama but probably diesel Macks and not this CNG crap that sounded like it wanted to die a few times lol
For being from out of state, especially the south, he did pretty well. I would give anything to be a fly on the wall in the morning meetings with the blue crew drivers. You can imagine many of them are used to completely different equipment, including but not limited to Macks, heavier Atlantic and Half/Pack front loaders with joystick controls (as opposed to the California rabbit ears), and being able to do 12-14 tons in a load legally. Not to mention most front load stops in Georgia are relatively easy stabs, whereas 3 yarders on castors in enclosures are the norm here. Hopefully he appreciates his diesel truck when he gets home. Residential on the other hand is probably smooth sailing, it benefits Republic to run ZRs across the country in a situation like this. There’s a lot more that can be said, but I’ll leave it at saying that I really appreciate that you chose to film front load and would not mind seeing more
I can't imagine the culture/equipment shock some of the drivers from the south got when they came to California. I'm certain a lot of the drivers appreciate their trucks back home for all the reasons you brought up and more! Glad you enjoyed!!
As a FL driver myself I drive both joy sticks and rabbit ears. Pete 520 and Autocar ACX. I prefer the rabbit ears over the joystick, no comparison. I prefer the 520 over the ACX as well. Just my preference
From what I heard, Republic Services put them up in a long term hotel and provided all meals. Any extra curricular activities were at the drivers expense.
guess the benefit of a large company is that they have a handful of strikebreakers they can bring in from any parts of the country surprised the trucks were even allowed to leave the yard, drivers usually blockade the entrances and exits to prevent strikebreakers from coming and going
I believe they do get an additional hourly rate. I read something saying part of the reason the union rejected the newest offer was becasue the Blue Crew was making more money than the offer Republic proposed.
@@zp12684 Ok. When i drove FEL from 1996-2009, if there wasn't stabbers, i used them often. the union wages aren't great for the amount of work you do and management is shit. the benefits are great though but not worth the stress and lack family life
@masterofnone11 I been there, done that. I hope you get a good route in a decent neighborhood. Get yourself a good raincoat and pack extra clothes and socks on rainy days
Im surprised he let u film those guys probably get harassed daily, republics strike in mass ended up with the yard being closed and everyone quitting, their yard got turned into the DPW yard.
@@Patriots-vs1kz That's actually the auto shutoff on newer trucks. When it idles for a set amount of time (usually 5-10 minutes), they automatically turn off to conserve fuel
Lol yaaaaa I’ve seen some of your union shops and I’m always amazed that you get paid at all. I’ve seen techs that were “to good” to actually do there job, drivers flex because they couldn’t have “their truck”. Some places are great but most are filled with crying children that only want more.
I live in Kent WA where the garbage hasn't been picked up in almost a month. I think it's rediculous to turn your back on your own community so you can support people you'll never even meet
Can’t believe this guy only picked up like 5 stops throughout the whole 45 min video…. He juicing the fuck out of the clock no wonder they don’t want to pay them 😂
So you realize getting out of the truck to pick up everything off the ground solo takes a significant amount of time? Not to mention the truck was about 70% full at the start of the video requiring him to spend more time packing...
This gentleman went way over and beyond
I would do the same exact thing he’s doing in a heartbeat if I was on the team every single day. 😊👍✌️✊
@Michael Seidel eventually you'll get tired of picking up after inconsiderate people. the job is to service just the bin
You did a great job, all the best..
There’s loads of strikes in my country at the moment so this is relatable.

Those blue republic services crews
Are cleaning up 🧹 those garbage bags & recycling stuff
Great video, just a play by play audio would be nice for those trainees out their. Always seems to be missing in these videos

During regular times most have upwards of 80-100

8 bins in 45 minutes? He won't finish a complete ruote in a week
Respect 💯‼️
Did anyone noticed smoke or something in the big building coming up at 21:47 into the video
So they don’t Reclycle anymore
Not during the strike
One person doing the work! IMO ridiculous!
hard work only one person they need recycle container

That cardboard sucks, gotta pack pack pack and it still blows your truck out. I always loved when it would rain, one load day!
Rain make cardboard go squish👍🏻
I wanna see videos with ur guys in counters with all the bums..now that wud be interesting. 😆
Where are the outside controls???? I'm getting tired watching him hop in and out of the truck. 🤔🤨😐😑
