    This is probable the best channel on boxing I've ever watched. He goes over practically everything in an easy to learn way so you can learn fast.

      @@gabrielparnell9257 sir i just want to compliment your editing, the small touches like saturation effects for.. i dunno, funny parts, the different cuts for camera positions, and the slight zooms
      actually i dont know if that's the camera adjusting or you zooming thr frame out so the guy demonstrating is always in frame
      (i don't know his name)

    Bro coming from someone who teaches themselves combat this is one of the best channels I've seen for boxing in years. Been getting my boxing up since I overall train mma and when I post on IG I've had boxers think I have a coach. They say I do everything textbook with angles and all. Plus I fight both stance. Your channel has helped me a lot with boxing in particular. Keep this up. You deserve a million subs. Its in the am and im drilling these rn to incorporate more head movement and footwork in my style. I feel boxing was weakest in my stand up and I've improved quite a lot in a few months with your channel and some others

    Thank you for breaking it down. Me and my son watched this together. His dad tells him something and he's looking at me like he don't know what he's talking about. A complete stranger on a video says almost the exact same thing and he's like I've got it. 😂

    How to slip while using soviet style, or soviet style only control distance?

  • @adez5488
    @adez5488 Місяць тому

    Love the videos, but this is the first one I can disagree with something and hopefully contribute, not merely as a matter of style.
    In the Soviet School, we learn to move the upper body in the opposite direction when stepping backwards (compared towhat you show here). That way, you can punch with power while slipping in that direction. With the way you show it, any punches thrown while moving backwards will have no power behind them.
    Basically, the arm punching, has to be on the same side as the planted foot when moving backwards for the power to not dissipate

    • @Ytterdahls
      @Ytterdahls 2 місяці тому +1

      When Tyson launched at people like that, they were not just worrying about timing their own shots. They worried about him getting getting on their inside with his explosive combos. That made it work, especially when he was in his prime years, fit and explosive. Also it’s a difference between practicing slipping or dipping left and right, and doing that too many times in a fight. Slipping, rolling, sidestepping, pull back, punch with head in the center, out if the center etc… drills are drills. Then start doing it with more variation 👍

    Does anyone else have trouble punching and moving around at the same time? I can punch well when stood still but as soon as I try to incorporate moving around it all goes south! I seem to lack coordination and my footwork is very stiff. This guy looks very fluid and smooth when he shadow boxes

    Definitely keep it fast and tight, otherwise kickboxers will knee you in the face. Obviously, that's not boxing, but it's important not to bend and lean too much.

    But you don't fight like that, do you? Guys who do usually have a more square stance...

    • @enigmatum
      @enigmatum 2 місяці тому

      Ya Tyson style is super squared. Style of pressure punchers. Betebiev and Benavidez are a bit squared but not as much. People learning boxing should stick to a bladed stance though. Easier to learn good skills than Tyson's power. Without power, this stance gets killed.
