The biomechanics for stepping to the left (as an orthodox boxer)/slipping to the left do make sense.
You essentially step into a lunge, the position is set, and then you jab.
Strategically, if you can only back foot jab and not get your head offline jabbing any other way, the backfoot jab will get timed. It shows that you only have one position for jabbing with head movement

Hey, been a while. Would you think of doing a video on standing your ground in sparring? I'm having problem with that when after an exchange or after my opponent's phase atk.
Much luv, I predicted the growth this channel would have. And I'm sure it's only gonna keep going up. ❤❤❤

So good man. Stepping with the rear leg whilst throwing the jab is kinda counterintuitive to me cause one usually steps with the front leg to get into range. I guess stepping with the rear leg could be a counter move. Don't know. But I really liked the move. Felt natural

Do you transfer your weight to the side you’re slipping to or is it 50/50?

Tbh...your comment isnt that valid...the guy is very technical..ive boxed in professional gyms and the coaches there didnt seem to know half as much as this guy....so kudos to the guy...his videos are some of the best ive seen on youtube.

Your are an amazing athlete, but the way you holding fist is a boxing way for gloves. For bare hands fight need to use karate hold, when thumb is under you fingers. I had some problems when I accidentally hit my sparing partner with a thumb holding fist as you are (during a hand-to-hand combat training), if I had karate way hold that would not happens at all. It does not play a lot sense with you use gloves, but it plays a lot when there are no gloves, or when gloves are not boxing ones. That sticking thumb from a fist is like a hook, that time to time hooks partners during punches and brings significant pain to your thumb's join, in a karate hold the thumb is hidden under fingers - nothing to hook. Thank you! All the rest is amazing. Greetings from the USSR boxing school.

Great stuff but I would add you can absolutely move toward your lead hand and jab at the same time. In fact, that was one of Muhammad Ali's favorite things to do. He didn't use a slip. Instead, he would throw off the lead foot while cross-stepping with his back foot. That's "wrong" but it works well because when that back foot lands your lead foot lands exactly where it needs to be almost automatically. It's actually not that difficult to do with practice. But it is one of those things where someone MUST learn the simple, "right" way to do it first or it will go very poorly.
