    Some of us would like to use these videos as tutorials. It would’ve been nice to see you taking out every bolt with clear locations of them. No one shows this.

    Just had this same issue. We double nutted the factory nuts on them. Impacted them together. Hit it hard with the mig welder the used Bertha to impact them out.

      @@MKielnik I still never got them out.

    tubular manifold will melt that plastic valve cover, you have to replace it with the metal one

      Or just get a manifold heat shield

    These new Evo build vids are life! Was your oem manifold cracked at all? How many miles are on the manifold? I dread doing this job b/c I don’t have a welder or a torch to handle stuck bolts. I’m at 53k in my 2014 X.

    • @JordanMoree
      @JordanMoree  Рік тому +1

      64k miles. I doubt you’ll have too many issues with stuck bolts on a 2014 with 53k.

    Those studs on the turbo are an extreme pain in the ass. Unfortunately mine snapped off using the stud extractor tool so I had to drill them out. Took quite a few drill bits and 2-3 days to do it. Never will I ever do it again lol

      @@jeremyrichiejonas3575 I used all sorts of cobalt. Milwaukee, dewault, bosch. Make sure to use cutting oil too.

    So do I have to drain coolant and oil? I’m replacing my wife’s turbo and just did an oil change would rather not have to if I can help it

    • @JordanMoree
      @JordanMoree  3 місяці тому

      just coolant. You’ll get a little oil to run out where the feed line is going into the block. You can do a startup and check the level afterward but I never topped mine off.

    Man the same thing happened to me with the manifold. Had to remove turbo and manifold completely. My buddy took it to a shop and the guy used 3m cement material and the bolts came loose from the turbo

    were you ever able to get the 2 studs out the stock turbo housing? im tryna take my stock manifold out now and cant get it out because those 2 stock studs dont want to move. I didnt know about dropping the whole turbo housing to remove it but wasnt hoping not to do that and remove it by taking off those studs, especially since MAPerformance gives you a new bolt to install in its place

    • @JordanMoree
      @JordanMoree  Рік тому

      Unfortunately no I never got them out. Doesn’t make any sense why Mitsubishi couldn’t have just used 4 bolts factory.

      I know your trying to save the bolts but lastly I would say is drill them out and use bigger bolts with washers as it’s just holding the manifold in place,maybe what ima do if I run into this problem when I change mine ? What you think

    • @ItWasWritten516
      @ItWasWritten516 Рік тому

      @@THATLTRFOUR50 honestly it was such a pain in the ass that I stopped bothering with it. I ended up just buying a brand new turbo and since it came with the housing I left the stock alone. saves so much time and headache, however you come out of pocket for a new turbo. but if you're doing a big job like the manifold and downpipe, you will eventually want to change turbo as well. I got mine from AGT and his customer service is best I ever dealt with. helped me make an easy decision on what to go with and obviously an getting more power from it without a head cracking price
