Their drummer has always been a monster. The 2nd album This Place Will Become Your Tomb is practically a drum clinic. His precision and the complexity of his fills are just nutty.
He's an absolute showman in the live shows. He loves to work the crowd.
I wish I knew more about drumming so I could really appreciate it. I trust people saying how fucking good he is, I just lack knowledge 😂 I know chords and music theory so I understand all the rest of it but percussion is a big ole blank spot for me.

seeing them play The Offering (among another song or two) as one of the openers to a Polyphia show is how I learned about Sleep Token. Was definitely an experience.
@@dropthehammer1360- Ohhhh, it has just begun. When you listen to nothing else, that’s when it’s full blown. I used to love Killswitch Engage/Light the Torch, and I haven’t listened to them in over a year. Each of their albums are 10/10, One/Two/FTRB included. 😂

At one point, Noah and bad omens wanted to get sleep token on tour but they were too busy at the time. It's the tour we didn't know we needed
I could die as fulfilled as I'm likely to get if I got the chance to see Bad Omens and Sleep Token perform together. If it weren't for me having discovered Bad Omens and the occasional Sleep Token song popping up on my Bad Omens playlist, I'd almost certainly have never discovered Sleep Token. Bad Omens was an INSTANT obsession for me, but Sleep Token took some time to grow on me and sink its hooks in. Thank GOD I hung in there with them and kept giving their music a chance, because now I feel as though I have discovered a band that is truly, not even being funny, otherworldly or somehow beyond my feeble human comprehension. The more I listen to Sleep Token, the more I realize that what Vessel is doing is just...I can't even put it into words. It's 10th dimension beyond space and time. It's driven and conceived from a place and power beyond our understanding. Vessel truly is a vessel that was chosen to deliver this remarkable experience to us, and what he is doing with Sleep Token truly is an experience. I had truly given up on music a long long time ago. Tool was the only band of any significance that we had left as far as I was concerned. I now have hope... though I really don't see how anyone is going to be able to ever make music again now that Sleep Token exists and has mastered its craft lol.

I love how "unrefined" the old songs are, you can pretty much track their progression into the sound of Take me back to eden. The transitions are alot more crude early on, and get smoother throughout their 3 albums. Might be reading abit too much into it, but its almost as Vessel gets more comfortable with his emotions throughout the project of Sleep Token. It goes from raw and untampered in the beginning to controlled and poignant in TMBTE. love it
Wdym? The transitions in this are better than in most of TMBTE..
You can really see it, especially with sugar you can see the general inspiration aswell as composition that really shines in take me back to Eden, which IMO is the fucking transcendent arc of their career, everything just feels so tailored and special compared to sundowning and tomb where not everything clicks but there are still absolute bangers

Did no one warn you that II goes absolutely BONKERS on the earlier albums? Not that he doesn't on TMBTE, but man, he establishes himself as superhuman throughout the first two albums. Also, I've been listening to them for years and I can't imagine how anyone would think their newer stuff is a massive departure from the rest of the catalog. They've evolved, for sure, but the sound is quintessential Sleep Token. By the way, I live for your facial expressions while you're listening to them and following the lyrics. Oh, and Eric's episodic final thought. I'm taking down Holyfield AND cilantro if Sleep Token gets snubbed by the Grammys.

This song slaps so hard live it is the perfeect closing song, also vessel sounds even better live when singing this song. The "Take a bite" part really cought me off guard.

Had this same sentiment initially, but some have mentioned that they should listen to the original album version first, and THEN they need to see from the room below, and I agree.

The Offering was the crucial song that made me a massive fan back in 2021! Fire ass song like Eric said, still in my top 10 all time. Great watching your evolution into becoming fans, especially that after The Summoning reaction, I didn't believe you'll give them another chance

You have to listen to off camera, the drum solo for Alkaline. It's called Alkaline-an offering from II. It really shows how amazing the drummer is.
I saw these guys in detroit earlier this month and this what they ended the show with. Literally the best concert I’ve ever been to and you guys need to see them whenever you get the chance!!

Ah yes. the song that started it all for me. My first introduction to Sleep Token, and somehow I feel something different every time I hear it. This was before the lore, the story and the message behind this band was known- this was something foreign... and to see where they went after this, it's actually not that far from where they started. Loved this reaction.
I went from listening to rap, to listening to rock, to listening to punk, to listening to metal, to listening to deathcore, to listening to Sleep Token, in my life.
There's some bluegrass and country in there as well.
Sleep Token is my everyday music now.
I'm so glad you guys are going through their entire discography. I do hope you take the time to go through I and II (especially Calcutta and Nazareth) as well. I think the difference with TMBTE vs the other albums is their brilliant producer. But every song they make is absolute perfection.
Nazereth... Shew. I think it was their defining "this is our music song" even tho its so early in their history. But I think it's when you really get to hear all of Vessel's talents while also being a deep song. "lets see what a ......." gets me every time.

I used to put together playlists to use at a jet engine maintenance shop that I worked at for about 5 yrs. This whole album was in the rotation, and it rapidly became a favorite among my crew and others that could hear it across the floor. Jaws was the song that hooked me and Bloodsport (From the Room Below) kept me.

The Offering remains one of their best songs, and definitely their best live song. They've added a few subtleties to the live version over the years which makes it even more incredible

I have to agree that their older stuff is still current in their recent album. Drumming got more intense on the newer album they all have such Immense talent. I'm disabled haven't been to a gig since Opeth and Evil Scarecrow so going to see Sleeptoken in November and with bkstage access I'm so emotional. You guys have made me laugh and cry you are epic I'm a metalhead with versatility I love NF, also Wardruna and Heilung and dance. One thing I noticed with the lyrics is at the start of this song vessel says “ you are a garden” and in Take Me Back To Eden when he says “ Take Me Back To Eden” I take it as him saying he want to be brought back to her or be reunited with what made him happy

I saw them live in Detroit a couple weeks ago for the first time and i'd have to say, now i get why they ended the show on this song. Being in the pit right up close to all the action was some of the most fun ive ever had at a concert ever. The ENERGY that flooded through that concert hall was unmatched.

I am discovering Sleep Token at the same time as you guys. They are flipping amazing. I also heard Take Me Back To Eden first and worked my way back. The drummer gives me chills in every single song. Vessel's talent in writing songs and the production of the songs....I agree...a Loud ASMR, ambient metal, with some funky RnB mixed in there....perfection. You guys should react to Drumeo's video with ii the drummer. It's amazing watching him play and the change ups he does every time he plays a song.

Sundowning easily remains one of my favorite albums of all time, just know that there's a handful of very melodic songs on this one, so don't get discouraged if it's not exactly as hype inducing for the viewers as "The Offering" is.

The drummer did an "offering" of this song on their youtube channel where he does a playthrough and you can watch him play. He's so talented. Also can confirm this song goes fucking CRAZY hard live. Crowd goes crazy, vessel goes absolutely feral and its amazing.
