Coming from the 440i coupe, I test drove the X3 & found it to be high enough & felt I could see well which is why I’m considering the M40i. Easier to get into & better visability.
@@MeynMotorGroup I personally just sold my 440i grand coupe to get a suv that is easier to get in & out of & have a higher visibility. I personally felt like there was a very good improvement for me personally. Your comment about it being like diving a car vs SUV visibility wise had be second guessing myself a little. Maybe I need to go sit in one again. That was the whole idea of me seeking my 440i
If you’re referring to the 2019 and before 440i then yea of course the X3 sits up higher than that vehicle, I also owned a 2019 440i for a little while. The X3 just doesn’t sit up super high or anything but higher than the 440i for sure
Drove both M40i and GLC 43 amg, have to say GLC rides much lower than M40i. Is there a big difference in the ride quality with 20” wheels as compared to 19”?
Dynamite and gorgeous, you just have to keep it in the family. Brother Lease, Sister Lease, Uncle Lease, Cousin Lease, and if you buy and keep past warranty, keep that in the family too, with Daddy Extended Platinum Super Warranty, and enjoy. I dont know why, I'm not a mechanic, but I do know that owning a modern BMW out of warranty can devalue the ownership experience.
Thanks for all the info, your video really helps! I am placing an order for X3 M40i brooklyn grey with tacora red interior. My only concern is ride quality. Do you think if I go with 19 inch wheels with the 245 50R 19 tires and drive on comfort suspension then will the ride quality improve? I live in Chicago and there are so many potholes.
Yea 19” wheels will help for sure most annoying thing for me is the wind noise so I might try to change out the side mirrors (I think that’s what’s causing the noise but not positive) nice handling vehicle tho
@@MeynMotorGroup that’s too bad. The last bmw I had with the ZF 8 soeed was also pretty jerky. Sounds like they’ve finally fixed the steering and suspension atleast
@@MeynMotorGroup what you’re looking for is Sport Individual mode, program transmission to Sport and engine to Sport Plus - this gives you the lower rpm but fast throttle response. Oh and they all make wind noise as I’m on my second G01, it’s from the window not side mirror.
Every other person that has reviewed this car has raved about how quiet this vehicle is inside the cabin.. are you sure the wind noise you’re experiencing isn’t just an issue with the particular vehicle you reviewed?
So yes that’s why I referenced the non M model X3 which was very silent and the only difference I can find between the 2 cars is the side view mirrors. That being said, the 2022 M440i coupe was silent…so it’s very strange but I can’t deny that is my experience. Also most mainstream reviewers worship Euro cars because they get them from the manufacturer directly and don’t want to sour their relationship. So when you watch European car reviews you won’t see too many complaints. I pay monthly to gain access to the European cars I review. Anyways, I hope this helps
@@timw2083 I was looking at both and ended up choosing M40i over the GV70 3.5T, as the X3 drives more fun. But for the lower trims I’d say a GV70 2.5t is better than the X3 30i
We just picked up our 2022 X3 M40i last Friday and immediately noticed the wind noise...I agree that it seems to be either the mirror or front door seal/frame, but it also only happens it seems when the wind conditions are just right...like a cross-wind. It wasn't consistent, and thankfully it seemed to happen less often than not.

One mistake though, when you set it in regular sport mode, the rpms stay regular at less than 2000, it only hovers around 3000 when it’s sport plus.
for the first time since the release of the x3 the car looks almost better then the x5
Yea X3 looks pretty good for the most part

Previous 440i or current M440i? I was referring to the M440i 2022

Does it still sound the same as the 2019 at startup?

No there shouldn’t be but it’s interesting you found the Benz to be lower riding vehicle
I have the 21’s on my m40 and I love it. The ride is still very good

I wouldn’t own a single modern car without a warranty they’re all untrustworthy

I ordered mine today.. I went with the 19’s I’m in Connecticut and our roads are trash
Doesn’t bmw let you configure the various drive modes? So for example couldn’t you configure the transmission in sport mode to be in “normal”?
Yes helps a bit still jerky even in the comfort setting
@@MeynMotorGroup that’s too bad. The last bmw I had with the ZF 8 soeed was also pretty jerky. Sounds like they’ve finally fixed the steering and suspension atleast
Yea this is doable I could drive this especially with 19” wheels I would just replace the side mirrors to get rid of wind noise

Is it the weather stripping or something? I can’t imagine it being different from a regular X3 do you know what could have changed?
you could increase the height of the seats and you will get that commanding view of a SUV
Yea I know what you mean but there is a limit to that for the taller folks they can only put it so high before hitting their heads 😅

Do you have any 2022 x4 m40i? I may be selling mine.
X5 vs X5, they say that X5 is more refined, would you agree or not?
If you mean X3 vs X5 then honestly a regular non M X3 with the 4 cylinder was super refined and quiet very similar to the regular X5 I tested.
I don't think he's ever been in a car before, if he thinks the X3 doesn't sit high up like other SUVs.
Nice wrap up. Too bad about some of the "cons" -- I agree -- those things would bug me too.
Yea mainly just wind noise which I think if one just replaces the side mirrors can actually go away
You mentioned the wind noise before. I need to test drive it on the open highway. But open road is hard to find in the DC area.... lol
Yup just try to get it up to some speed somewhere you’ll notice it right away past 65
