You post a thorough tutorial. With the rythum.. I have just been learning chords open and barr.. Strumming to a metronome, and studying 3/6, 6/8, 4/4 etc..and some music theory For 10 months now. On my own no inperson lessons.. My brick wall is, I need insight on strumming rythum relaying the rythum to the strings. There's the downbeat, upbeat, backbeat, offbeat the drum plays, So, the down strum on the guitar down beat correct? Is the down beat the kick or snare on the drum,? The upstrum on the guitar, it's suggested the upbeat? I need clarity. Is the up beat the top hat, cymbals on the drum? In keeping time with music, patting your foot. when the foot lifts the upstrum can be applied evenly spaced to the down strum.. Whether it's 8th notes or 16th notes.. So, my direct question is. A Down Strum on the guitar to which beat of the drum? Kick or snare. Up Strum to what beat of the drum? Snare, top hat, cymbal.. I really would appreciate your expertise, and thorough explanation on this subject. Thanks.
